Language / Why is the Polish language so difficult? [309]

Russian employs its own Slavic word base

Not quite. Russian for tomato -tomato/tomat from Latin, in Polish pomidor from Italian Pomodoro, Russian for family-familia again from Latin, Polish rodzina-Slavic.

PennBoy, I guarantee you that even you would have problems with high-end Polish given your natural inclination to think in English. For example, z Tobą and u Ciebie. Without a double take, I'd've said z Tobą also. Pgtx agreed with you, which just goes to show that you have been out of regular contact with flowing Polish for a while.

Believe me I knew that u ciebie is that proper way to say it, most of the time one must flip words around when translating from Polish-English and vice versa since they don't sound right in that order. I wrote it that way so that the already frustrated girl wouldn't get even more frustrated asking "why is it the other way around?" kept it simple.

I've had a Polish professor from Politechnika Świętokrzyska be a guest at a friend of mine's house a few years back. It was a pleasure just to sit and listen to him talk.

High-end Polish is really hard to use. It can really put you to the sword. For any non-Pole to say it is easy is having a laugh.

Yes I think even more so than it's English counterpart. Although as previously stated in a separate discussion English altogether has far more words than Polish. *ducks and runs**

No, British/Danish Bacon frys very well.

Because British bacon comes from the belly, which is the fattest part. Canadian bacon is the leanest from the pig's loin. BTW do Brits eat BLTs?

Life / Stereotypes about Polish people being stupid? [281]

I don't believe you can accurately assess the IQ of a whole population, I really don't.

I read a book by an ex German general of WWII Friedrich von Mellenthin about his experiences on the eastern and later western fronts. This book was published in the late 50s and in conclusion he says something about the current situation in the Soviet Union " The Slavs have show much capability to my astounding in being able to operate advanced computers and technologies" this moron actually believe that Slavs have some mental deficiency for learning not that they just simply didn't attend schools in those days and didn't get a chance to learn and be educated, not literately stupid.

Well typically if this 'hick' goes go school, college, he'll stop talking like that. It's a sign of being uneducated and backward, that's why those people are labeled that.

Our univ are not worth because they are not listed on the so called sponsored links .

I've met a few guys here who recently got their degrees at good Polish universities and claim it's mostly due to the budgets that good western schools have and the amount of scientific research they do, not that Polish Universities are so much worse as they appear on the rankings.

Life / Stereotypes about Polish people being stupid? [281]

In Silesia it's the dialect and it just so happens to be similar to hick talk in the rest of Poland. My family is from the Subcarpathian Voivodeship I lived in the city no one talks like that, my fathers family is from a village 30km away they talk like that. Grandpa's family is from the country in the Lublin area they too speak like that, although in Lublin itself (the city) they don't. In Silesian they speak like that in the city and country because it's their dialect, like in Podlaskie they don't pronounce the letter Ś only say it like a S among other things being influenced by Eastern Slavic tongues.

Hehehe, buroki is Silesian. Buraki is Polish.

actually 'buroki' in Polish too, if we're literally talking about beets then buraki ,if we're referring to a hick/yokel then it's buroki because that's how they would say it. other words jo instead of ja, czorny instead of czarny, idziewa instead of idziemy ex. idziewa do sklepu?

Life / Stereotypes about Polish people being stupid? [281]

I am one of those peasants on emigration and the ones I see on the streets are in 99% peasants.

That's you I came from the city. It did change, my father is an educated man with a rural background yet his sister, cousins are all college educated. Many young people from the country go to college nowadays.

Let's solve this once and for all the Polish stupid stereotype comes from uneducated peasants going to the west. Who in the Polish countryside in the 20s had any education? or even knew how to read and write, very few. The problem was that is was almost exclusively these Poles that went to the west making all Poles look bad and stupid. I've met Poles and their families who have came here in those days, some couldn't spell their names and had immigration officers write it incorrectly. The new immigration is totally different most 30 and under are college educated some already speak English. People see that and are changing their opinion of Poles the only ones who still wholeheartedly believe in those stereotypes are a**holes who don't care whether it's true or not but like the way it sounds and have something to laugh at.

I've read somewhere that even during the communist times the amount of scientific research and articles that were published in Poland made or big brother the Soviet Union look very pale in comparison. Soviets were good only in the military field, that is of course if the didn't copy something from the west.

Poland hasn't even come close to matching monumental inventions such as these.

Maybe so Seanus but one country is good in one thing and worse in other just like with people you gotta find what it is.

Life / Why is circumcision not practiced in Poland? [701]

wrong.
Believe me or not but the US does not represent "civilized world" as this map shows.

Looks like all of Europe us under 20% circumcised except for Muslim Bosnia and Albania. The drastic drop of newborn babies here in the States getting circumcised means Europeans were right about not getting it done.

Well as the one link provided here from Plymouth Meeting, PA claims 80% of American men are circumcised in the last 3 years or so only 30% of newborns have been. It is isn't broken don't fix it ;)

I am circumsized and highly sensitive

Now imagine how much more sensitive and pleasurable that area would be if you still had the foreskin.
That skin is there for a reason, without it the male Glans keep touching and rubbing up against your underwear and pants over time making your 'tool' less sensitive. Same thing with the foreskin over the rest of the penis with a erection it's pulled back revealing the thinner, protected more sensitive skin.

foreskin is there to protect the delicate skin that makes life pleasurable for a man and equally for a woman..

Right on. 'The pleasure given by the foreskin itself is taken for granted in communities where it is commonplace - and also in communities where it is not, but where pleasure is frowned on.

Only in the US, where pleasure is now cultivated but foreskins are still rare, is that self-evident fact disputed.
Here are some historical quotes about the pleasures of the foreskin - many from people who deplored both.'

No, its because its more pleasurable...Have a look at my links...as I said, its there for a reason ;0)

That's what I meant by it ;)

You will never know how sensitive it would have been had you not had it taken away..

Just like the male Glans 'mushroom' before starting a sex life and being touched often is so sensitive the slightest contact felt so pleasurable, euphoric. Over time the sensation lowers.

Ever heard from your ladies, that it's not about the tool, but about the technique and skill?

Maybe the positive difference was the tool being bigger than her previous boyfriend's LOL

because they are with someone who has it unclipped.....or live in a country where everyone has an unclipped one.

I live in the States and the locals got their clipped so if a American girl has sex with a Polish man I think she can notice a difference. She claimed the extra skin felt more comfortable.

in American prn that would reflect the high percentage of circumcision in that country.

Exactly.

Maybe you're just trying to convince yourself it's better because yours is clipped? lol
I've heard from many girls unclipped in better. This is why circumcised boys buy ribbed condoms.
