Life / Why is circumcision not practiced in Poland? [701]

Just chop the whole dam thing off then there will be no problems.

Before I take the final decision, I am practising home circumcision on bananas.

Genealogy / I am of Polish descent (i am something called kashoop). Kaszub, Kashubian? [19]

but recently my mother said that i am something called kashoop

In such case, you are regional minority which has faithfully stuck to the Polish nation for centuries but likes to cherish certain differences, e.g., language. Very good, reasonable people. True patriots of Poland.

Does your mother wear such clothing? If yes, she is Kashubian, indeed.

History / Poland: Her heroes and her traitors [239]

When in Warsaw a few years ago, we went to the park to see the statue of general Sowiński and the redoubt he defended.

The remains of Wola entrenchment defended by general Sowiński.

General Sowiński, a heroic general with one leg who died while defending Warsaw against Russians during November Uprising in 1830.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J%C3%B3zef_Sowi%C5%84ski

Józef Sowiński (1777--1831) was a Polish artillery general and one of the heroes of Poland's November 1830 Uprising.

Sowinski in the Trenches of Wola
Juliusz Slowacki

In the old churchhouse of Wola
General Sowinski remained,
Old man with a wooden leg,
Defending himself with a sword;
All around him lie commanders
Of battalions with their soldiers,
Muskets scattered, broken cannons,
Everything is devastated!

Dulce et decorum est pro patria mori. I envy general Sowiński his beautiful death.

Feedback / Why are threads deleted or send off topic list? [60]

Boring topics are binned.

Simple.

Go to Volcano Explorers` site to find the audience. :):):):):

Hi I put up 2 links about a dentist that got her revenge on ex. Both threads were deleted, why?

Because most forum members don`t like to read about dentists, drilling, fillings etc. Simple.

Life / Why is circumcision not practiced in Poland? [701]

Medical science has proven the health benefits of circumcision yet Poles refuse to practice it?

Ok, the older I get, the more concerned I become about my health.

I am going to circumsice myself.

How should I do it? I am mean and don`t want to pay any butcher surgeon for the operation.

Any advice?

Life / Things that annoy you in Poland. [133]

I hated it when drivers stopped a few meters before the red light and then, instead of standing still, they slowly rolled up to the line, creating a gap between cars.

Luckily, I rarely see it nowadays.

Specialist,

I am too patriotic
to start such a topic.

Life / Scars of Communism on Polish culture. [55]

There are four or six cashiers at KFC and in other fast food places, and people still get in one communist line. What's up with that.??

Another bulshyt. Standing in one line to a few cashiers is a very practical and fair solution. You just wait which cashier gets free and you come up the the counter, that`s all. I take part in it at my local post office, municipal offices, McDonalds`s (rarely).

Even if the original post is stupid... I think the topic is interesting, can't we just talk about it? ;)

The problem is that communism didn`t introduce any new entities in the Polish character. It only enhanced negative traits which had existed long before. It means that a new thread should be started.

Life / Scars of Communism on Polish culture. [55]

OK, I read OP`s post.

Some ideas are really funny.

Public stores, libraries, and concert venues, even restaurants all over Poland, in 2012, which still have forced coat checks. Suspicion and distrust -- What maybe someone will steal some bread or fries or salt in their coats and take it out, or maybe someone going to the Symphony will steal a base violin.

No, darling, it is simply a sign of cultural behaviour in this part in Europe (it also exists in other Eastern countries e.g., Russia) to take off your coat in certain public institutions.

I don`t believe you don`t understand such things.

PS. It is called a cloakroom, BTW.

I believe it is true what was said about you:

We know you're just here to troll, but do try harder next time.

Exactly.

I disagree. Whether you agree with what he wrote or not, it's pretty well thought out and I can totally understand a lot of what he's saying.

Are you another troll or just a dummy? :):):):):)

First and foremost,

your post is simply too long. I didn`t read it. Life is too short.

Next time you want bigger audience, try to write sth more concise.

News / Polish final report on Smoleńsk aircrash [870]

I don't say it was a Russian made thing - I don't know that - but a lot of things seem very suspicious

Polish experts excluded the possibility of any man-made explosions on the plane. They had a full access to the wreckage and examined it with professional equipment.

Kaczyński`s American professors didn`t run such examinations. Their suppositions about explosions which tore off the wing, blew up the fuselage and scattered the debris all over the place are rubbish.

I wonder how long it took PiS to find such "experts" who would agree to support the manic thesis about the terrorist attack.

What do you think? A month? Two? Three?

The cause is and has always been one: the plane was flying too low, hit the tree and crashed. Conspiracy theories are food for thought for simpletons.

News / The Political Circus of Poland [309]

They run about threating Russia with war

In a weekend speech at a Capuchin monastery, Macierewicz made the startling claim that Poland was in a state of war with Russia.
"What is a situation in which the whole elite dies, in which the nation's head is decapitated? It's a declaration of war. Even if the next attack is delayed by a year, two, or five, we have to be aware that this is a declaration of war," said Macierewicz.

blogs.ft.com/beyond-brics/2012/04/20/poland-russia-relations-still-strained/?catid=677

Interview:

Question: After your famous statement on the declaration of war, PO1 convened a conference, in the course of which Members of Parliament, Mr. Halicki and Mr. Olszewski, made very strong statements about PiS2, and about (former) Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczynski. They said Poland's society disqualified Prime Minister Jarosław Kaczyński. What, in your opinion, caused all this outrage?

Antoni Macierewicz: I wouldn't call it an outrage. It's more like a paroxysm of fear. A paroxysm of terror. These people are aware that Polish people are learning more and more about the actual course of events, and in particular about the responsibility of Mr. Donald Tusk and of other representatives of his government for their negligence of this investigation. The responsibility, associated with outrageous actions taken during preparations to that visit. For the fact that the President was deprived of any protection, that the President did not even have his diplomatic status ensured, for everything that indicated evident cooperation between the government of Mr. Tusk and the Russians, both before and after this tragedy. And this wave of outrage against the perpetrators, those guilty, the people responsible, is simply growing. Just growing. That's the source of these paroxysms of rage that we are dealing with now.

News / History lessons no more in Poland (Tusk's change) [61]

The 19th Century is not prehistoric.

Yes, it is. Italian unification of 19 century is very closely connected with times when dinosaurs walked the Earth.

Are you certain that are you are a history lover?

Are you challenging me to a historic duel? :):):)

If so, don`t worry, I will wait till you are taken off the hook.

News / History lessons no more in Poland (Tusk's change) [61]

A few days ago i talked to my private students. They complained that history in their secondary school, year 3, age 16, drives them crazy. E.g., they had to learn about the unification of Italy in 19 century. :):):):)

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Italian_unification

This is madness. Even I, history lover, would complain. I don`t give a shyt about some fekking prehistoric Italian problems.

Come on!

It seems the reform is well grounded. :):):):)

History / The restoration of Polish cities from WW2 destruction [123]

Głogów, Poland City

The town was made into a stronghold by the Nazi government in 1945 during World War II. Glogau was besieged for six weeks by the Soviet Red Army and was 95% destroyed. After the Yalta Conference, the city, like the majority of Lower Silesia, was given to Poland and German-speaking inhabitants were expelled. In May 1945 the first Polish settlers came to the renamed city of Głogów to find only ruins; the town has not been fully rebuilt to this day. The town started to develop again only in 1967, after a copper foundry was built there.
