News / What should Poland do with the problem of Belarus? [1800]

Interesting.....it seems the discussion about support for EU outer borders is already decided!
Since 2020:

EU Agrees to Support Border Management & Common Visa Policy With €6.241 Billion Over Next 7 Years

schengenvisainfo.com/news/eu-agrees-to-support-border-management-common-visa-policy-with-e6-241-billion-over-next-7-years/

....In a meeting held on Thursday, December 10, the Parliament and the Council reached a political agreement on the border management fund for 2021-2027,worth 6.241 billion, in order to support strong and effective European integrated border management at the external borders.

The same funds will also be used to ensure a harmonised approach for issuing visas and to facilitate legitimate travel, with 10 per cent of the total fund set to be earmarked for visa policy in national programmes upon the insisting of the MEPs present in the meeting....

There should be enough money to build high walls....

What Merkel did makes also alot of Germans unhappy!
Interior minister Seehofer felt the need to repeat that she has not made some secret business with the dictators and no, Germany won't take anybody in and yes, Germany stands for sure at the side of Poland!

The converted are the worst.....the most bigoted!

Just read....about 100 illegals make it through Poland into Brandenburg every day. Between them about 70% Iraqis, the rest Syrians, Afghans, Jemenits, Iranians, Turks and north Africans.

In September came 1300 people, in October 2700, for November already 800...

Yet when Trump tried to build one on our border you Eurps mocked us.

Not me!

But I fear the same people mocking you for the wall are the same who would now rather import these migrants instead of building a nice stable and high wall....

It will have to cover a big stretch of the Ukrainian border as well...

.....not to forget preparing a bill for Brussels!

Poland to begin building wall along border with Belarus in December

trtworld.com/europe/poland-to-begin-building-wall-along-border-with-belarus-in-december-51677

Poland has decided to start building a wall along its border with Belarus in December and complete the work in the first half of next year, the Interior Ministry said in a statement.

"The undertaking which we must carry out is absolutely strategic and priority investment for security of the nation and its citizens," Interior Minister Mariusz Kaminski said on Monday.

The ministry said the contracts would be signed by December 15 and work on the border wall itself would begin later in the month, with builders working 24 hours a day on three shifts.

The wall will cost an estimated $407 million and is planned to stretch 180 kilometres, around half the total length of the Poland-Belarus border.

Parliament gave its go-ahead for the wall last month.

Best decision 👍

EU agrees new sanctions on Belarus, airlines over border crisis

reuters.com/world/europe/eu-step-up-sanctions-belarus-over-escalating-border-crisis-2021-11-15/

...The top EU diplomat, Josep Borrell, said the new package of sanctions would target airlines and travel agencies involved in "this illegal push of migrants".

Middle East travel agencies working together with operators in Belarus provided tourist visas to thousands of people in recent months, a Reuters investigation revealed.

EU executive said it was looking into whether other airlines should face sanctions after the bloc banned Belarus' state-owned carrier Belavia from its skies and airports. Germany's Maas stressed Turkish Airlines had stayed away.....

Well....it's a start.....

...The EU has been stepping up sanctions on Belarus for months. Curbs already in place include blacklisting of Lukashenko, his son and 165 other Belarusian officials, as well as restrictions on trade in potash, an important export....

A genuine question about what you think the next development at the border will be.

Hmm.....directly at the border.....difficult!

I just read that Iraq offered to send airplanes to bring willing Iraqis back home....that would be a start.....that is if Lukashenko lets them leave!

Another media reported that Putin advised Merkel and Lukashenko to speak directly together, he himself is seemingly only interested in the further Gas flow....

I'm abit scared to think what Lukashenko might demand from Merkel....and that Merkel might give it to him....so...I have absolutely not much of an idea....

Knaus' idea to build camps in Ukraine wasn't that bad (if we could convince the Ukrainians that is...they want probably money for "keeping" them)...but at least they would be out of the cold then, with food and medical support....

What do you think the next development will be?

I told you....there is no majority in any european country to take them all in....2015 was an informative event about "pull factors". This wouldn't be happening right now if Merkel would had made the right call back then too.

A mass immigration by non-europeans with another culture/religion isn't democratically feasible...and as far as I see it (since we have no power over their home countries), the only workable solution is to build very quickly very high and stable walls. I don't see any other by the majority accepted solution....

To support my impression an interesting poll from June this year in the leftist TAZ of all media:

(google translation)

Opinion poll on migration policy: majority against accepting refugees

Many Germans do not believe in a more humane policy towards those seeking protection. They rate integration efforts as having failed.

taz.de/Meinungsumfrage-zu-Migrationspolitik/!5779674/

....When asked whether the refugees who have come to Germany in the last 10 years are well integrated into society, the picture is even clearer. There is not a majority in any of the groups that have been broken down to answer this question in the affirmative. Overall, only 12.5 percent of those questioned believe that the integration was successful. Almost 30 percent answered "partly partly", around 57 percent against it "rather no" or "no, definitely not".

Broken down according to employment status, voting behavior, income and place of residence, there is almost everywhere a consensus not to allow any further refugees into the country.....
