News / New European Council's report: "Poland oasis of racism, xenophobia and homophobia" ... [343]

Well...that would fit the thread header quite nicely....what can one say....

Germanistan is arguably the most cucked nation in Europe after the United Kaliphate and French Emirate.

...and here I keep scratching my head and wondering why you seem to not like that idea of a Kaliphate really much. After all you would fit in even better in a Kaliphate! All that terrorizing and hunting and stoning and killing of LGBT people and Jews...wouldn't that be great?

Kaliphate Poland...a wet dream come true! Right?

Oh...wait...it's that most of these are brown and muslim people, ja? That's the problem??? You wish it would be white and christian people alone doing that?

News / New European Council's report: "Poland oasis of racism, xenophobia and homophobia" ... [343]

....the fact remains that the majority of Poles are against LGBT whether that's gay marraige, adoption, or even accepting a gay teacher, childminder, co-worker etc.

Do you have some numbers to support your opinion?

Because I only found that survey (June 2020):

How do you feel about the term LGBT?

statista.com/statistics/1127145/poland-attitude-towards-lgbt/

After that there is a majority of about 64,28% having either neutral or positive feelings about that term....

Funny how the European council (Germany )...

Huh?

Just in case:

consilium.europa.eu/en/european-council/

It's hardly (Germany) only...

....It has sparked stiff resistance in Warsaw and Budapest, where right-wing governments are adamantly opposed to a tool that could cause them to lose EU money if they continue with policies seen as eroding democratic standards.

But EU ambassadors voted by a qualified majority - around two-thirds - in favor of the rule of law mechanism despite their objections...

Definitely not enough for a parade....

News / How do Poles feel about Biden? [59]

Biden will only help them accelerate their plans just to secure, as he idiotically see it, counterbalance to Russia in Europe.

I only hope together we will counterbalance China...I wouldn't want a president Biden to become cuddly with Peking again.

If Russia starts licking chinese boots then we will have a problem...all of Europe, Serbs too!

News / How do Poles feel about Biden? [59]

Somehow I don't think he will be a friend of Poland.

....you could be surprised though. As far as I know the Democrats want Germany to raise its NATO contribution and to scrap Nordstream too.

Biden will only be alot nicer about that, which will make it much harder for Merkel to ignore him, as she just congratulated him this morning...

History / Do Polish people in general dislike Russia or Germany more? [369]

But they were quite anti-semitic in nature too, that's the problem. The leftist 68er were (mainly) fans of the PLO and it's fight against the jewish state, not to mention the support by the RAF (kidnapping of airlines and killings of jewish passengers).

IMHO The 68er movement was the death blow to the old german Nazis...but, and that's also the point I was trying to make...with this generation it was "safe" to do so, the old Nazis getting really old, dying off...the horrors far in the past....sons and daughters rebelling against their parent generation as it is natural.

But that had not much to do with acknowledgement and re-processing (?) of the Holocaust...I think....

History / Do Polish people in general dislike Russia or Germany more? [369]

Well...to be fair a lot of that wasn't the fault of the Germans...especially in East Germany the crimes and horrors and suffering of the Russian people had been a big topic but otherwise the East-Germans, the Poles and all others in the Eastern bloc were all friends and brothers and comrades now under Moscow's benevolent eye...there was no place for the polish-russian or german-polish grievances or russian crimes or lost territories and similiar "squabbles"....the bad guys/the Nazis were all in the West, our new common enemy! Remember?

Holocaust: How a US TV series changed Germany

It brought the horrors of Nazi crimes into people's living rooms and turned the word "Holocaust" into a commonly-used term in the German language.

This was the first time that a major mainstream drama had portrayed the lives of Hitler's victims.

A few months after the series was broadcast, Germany scrapped the statute of limitations for murder, to enable Nazis to be tried for their participation in the Holocaust

Gruni....that was 1979....not 1945!

Cause Wessi's had a hunt and political dogfight inwards towards Anyone with Nazi ties to the ww2 regime

What makes you think that?

spiegel.de/international/germany/from-dictatorship-to-democracy-the-role-ex-nazis-played-in-early-west-germany-a-810207.html

businessinsider.com/former-nazi-officials-in-germany-post-world-war-ii-government-2016-10?r=DE&IR=T

There was no HIAG in East Germany, there was definitely no Vertriebenen-Verband in East Germany etc., etc., etc.,....the old Nazis in the GDR were now all in the SED... the torch marches, the uniforms, the oath to the destroy their "enemies" were not that different after all...and the mindset was the same!

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HIAG

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federation_of_Expellees

What you are probably thinking of came a generation later, as the old Nazis retired and died off...as their children and grandchildren startet to get interested, as it was safe to do so because that history became far removed, physically and psychologically.

For example the first real exposure to the horrors of the holocaust happend for most Germans not in school or some "denazification" measure by the occupying forces but some TV mini-series aptly named "Holocaust"...in 1978.

I read that was the moment as many younger Germans started as questioning their elders...that started a flood of articles, books and more movies....but before that? Not much...and that was about the Jews!

My own exposure to WWII happened in school, a former inmate of Ravensbrück told us schoolchildren from the horrors of the camps, we visited Buchenwald...our heroes were communists like Thälmann and our soviet communist liberators...Jews not so much.

Ich bin ein Pfannkuchen! :)

Poles are essentially Germans...only more religious I think....most Germans (especially East Germans) are not. I generally think East Germans have alot more in common with western Poles than with many West Germans...decades behind the Iron Curtain, sharing the same fate, can do that to people...

The divide in Germany is mostly between the North (prussian, protestant) and the South (catholic, not prussian:) and recently between East and West....Bavarians are alot closer to Austrians for example than to Saxons or Thuringians...

"The Germans" don't exist and I think there are no "The Poles" either...

Great news!

Heh:) I hoped THAT would lure you out.... :):):)

I read that decision is a consequence of a discussion holocaust survivor and foreign minister Władysław Bartoszewski once started....

Nothing beats Brandt's "Kniefall" though....especially as back then capitalist West Germany and communist Poland had been officially enemies once again, and all was still fresh with most survivors still around!

Honestly? I have no idea....I'm searching the net but there is nothing....even the AfD twitter account who comments usually continuously everything is totally ignoring this...hmm...

I only know that 2019 there was a memorial spat between the AfD and Poland as an AfD politician financed a memorial stone for German soldiers and Freikorps members fallen in WWI and WWII in Upper Silesia (Bytom/Beuthen), which the polish gov then removed quickly....

I guess before that will come a contest for the best concept....I read that the "Askanische Platz" in Kreuzberg is in the talks.

deutschlandfunkkultur.de/denkmal-projekt-in-berlin-erinnern-an-polnische-opfer-der.2165.de.html?dram:article_id=457389

But till now it had been only talks and wishes, only from now on the planning and conception and discussion about how and where can truly begin....I could imagine that Poland would want to butt in with the plans, maybe veteran and survivor unions will want to get heard too...

The Bundestag voted today (October 30th, 2020) with a large majority that Berlin should have its own place to remember the Polish victims of National Socialism. All political groups with the exception of the AfD voted for the project.

mdr.de/nachrichten/osteuropa/polen-denkmal-in-berlin-100.html

A bit late but at least....

But the best part is that this will not be another general memorial for ALL victims at once (that had been the other option on the table) but a memorial especially for the Poles and their suffering under the German occupation!

Weeeell......I'm neither praying to Allah or Christ....let's leave it at that! :)

And because as of now slavic lands mean christian lands I would prefer to wait for the resurgence of Svetovid and folks before making any further decisions, thank you!
