with a mother on the edge of insanity

You must have been raised amongst extreme type of individuals. Sounds like you're giving women only one of two options: caeer woman or nearly insane stay-at-home mum.

no longer financially viable

In Poland. This is a relic of low communist-era wages which forced both spouses to work just to make ends meet. In other countries such as the USA two pay packets make for a poshier lifestyle but one often suffices for a modest but rewarding living. There are many downsides to latch-key kids and youngsters raised by infant schools, after-school clubs, nannies, CD-ROMS with little contact with parents.

stay at home housewife has never had much appeal

But mainly because few husbands can single-handedly support a family. If he could, many women who opt for the supremely important job of raising children and running a well-organised household. And this despite the ubiquitous feminist propaganda which has tried to discredit and deride housewives, homemakers and stay-at-home mums.

ridiculous 500 zl per baby pledge.

Got some miraculous cure for the demographic crisis? By all means do let us know. If the 500 zł thing is ridiculous, then please us what will do the trick.

incapable of being happy about anything going on in Poland

Au contraire, many things make decent people happy like the PiS election victory, the withdrawal of PO legislative blunders, World Youth Day in Kraków, the scrapping of that hideous pervert rainbow, Gienieczko's Amazon adventure, high marks for Polish EFL speakers, sport (Radwańska, Lewy world's 4th best footballer), Poland this year's 7th best tourist destination, etc., etc.

It's a legal demonstration

A handful of frustrated losers are free to protest until they burst a blood vesseł, split a gut or sh*t in their pants for all the good it will do!

openly betrayed Poland in the past?

Are you referring to the Bermans, Michniks, Fejgins, Brystygiers, Romkowskis, Różańskis and other memebrs of the sidelocks club?

G(ó)W(no).

Maciej Stasiński, a leading pen at Gówniane Wieści, compared Kaczyński to Hitler, a recent Sejm session to the Nazi takeover of the Reischstag and likened Tsar Jarosław the Terrible to a latter-day Ivan. He claimed that this would usher in a period of smuta (sorrow). Those Michnikites must be high on something because even by their skewed standards that is really going overboard.

EU flag.

If you're wondering about the wording of a possible placard it might read:
PRECZ Z RZĄDEM - NIECH ŻYJE EUROKRACJA!

PS - No "adult beverages" this time of day. At most one beer before bedtime.
But what about the long-awaited rainbow?

and falling

Have you checked the ratings of the Prime Offenders recently? Are they still double-digit?
As you well know, the "crisis" was created by PO and their illicit appointments. They're good at stirring things up, confusing matters with their deceptive propaganda and shifting the blame to PiS. That was the case with the Polish-Polish war they launched in 2005 and then tried to confuse the issue and defame PiS. And their voters were stupid enough to believe it for 8 years. But even moronic PO backers eventually wisened up.

preparing to get rid of PiS once and for all

We can all all envisage Delphie Boy nad his Blowhard sidekick out on the streets waving a placard "Down with the government" (Precz z rządem) LOL!

BTW will that be before, during or after the giant pervert-rainbow spanning Wislon Squars gets installed? Ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

a nomeklatura upbringing

Another concoted Blowhard lie which you're uncritically repeating. Other than Blowhard speculations of the "must've", "could've" "most likely" variety, no evidence has been provided. The expat liars then try to extend it to Duda who also "must've been" nomenklatura to have studied law at UJ. Except already way back in the '60s thousands of Poles completed their studies without even belonging to the PZPR, let alone enjoying a "nomeklatura upbringing"

like Michnik.

Poland was not free

Actress Joanna Szczepkowska said on TV back in 1989: On 4th June 1989 communism ended in Poland. In actuality it ended on 25 November 2015 when for the first tim the ex-commiers got voted out of office and a truly pro-Polish party, PiS, won an outright mandate to govern. That so infuriated the embittered, frustrated and mean-spirited losers that they lauanched an all-out barrage of slander and sabotage against the newly elected government. But law and justice will utlimately prevail. Niech żyje Polska! Precz z Platformą!

haven't they done anything

Who can fucntion when a band of frustrated losers are constantly stirring up trouble, creating ersatz conflicts and diverting the attention of the democratically elected government. Add since when are you, hypocritical phoney, a huge advocate of the 500 zł baby allowance? Anything to clobber PiS with, innit?

trying to do is to restore

PiS are trying to restore decency, common sense and concern for the disadvantaged and underprivileged, those snubbed and mistreated for 8 years by the crooked as they come P(rime) O(ffenders). It's no wonder the latter are trying to undermine and sabotage the govt at every step of the way. Haven't PO more than stolen their fill in 8 years' time?

people like

People like Kornel Morawiecki, an unquestioned patriot and anti-commmunist freedom-fighter, asked to comment on the current crisis by TVP1 news reader, quoted Father Stanisław Konarski, one of the creators of the 3rd May Constitution, as saying: "The law reigns supreme but must take second place to the happiness of the homeland (szczęście ojczyzny)."

Indeed, PiS's concern has always been first nad foremost the good of the nation. Quite unlike the Platformer scum and their banker/oligarch sponsors.

they don't agree with

Never forget it was PO that started the Polish-Polish war in 2005 and the current punch-up last summer. Then they raise a rumpus and smoke screen to try to shift the blame and confuse the issue where there's seemingly no sensible way out of the imbroglio. An old PO tactic. Fortunately Polish voters have seen through their sneaky little tricks and ruses.

TK

Mira Suchodolska writing in dziennik.pl states it's high time to to end the hypocrisy and myths alleging the TK to be an apolitical entity comprising individuals devoid of personal opinions with heads full only of paragraphs. In reality it is a most politicised body.

two separate protests

Sure, if PO mobilise their flunkies and who knows if some "incentive" won't be provided to enlarge the crowd. Wouldn't put it past the sneaky b*stards!

disgruntled expats

Disgruntled expats, political losers and the sensation-seeking media are all up in arms over the "constitutional crisis", but ya know what -- the average Pole doesn't really give a sh*t! When the evening news comes on and the news reader starts banging away about the TK, many viewers say to themselves: "Oh no, more political claptrap!" Some switch channels to some soap or sitcom.

If the new govt fails to come through to a reasonable degree on their campaign pledges, that might be another story. But fascination with poltical abstractions and constitutional imbroglios is the pastime of only a tiny minority.

Polish constitution

Anyone know why former Katyń conspirator, ex-commie Rzepliński was set up as the chief guardian of Poland's constitution? Yesterday he was seen in the Sejm plotting something with PO, Petru and PSL. Another nocturnal coup like that of 1992 in the offing?

just amused t

Were you equally amused when former PZPR activists Kuroń, Balcerowicz, Geremek, PO co-founder Olechowski, Tusk's justice min. Ćwiąkalski, science min. Kudrycka, prominent PO MP Iwona Śledzińska-Katarasińska, PO MEP Rosatki, TK head Rzepliński and many, many more were being promoted to positions of authority and basked in prestige and prominence under the PO regime. If so, somehow you never seemed to mention it. Similarly, no-one ever recalls you pointing out that aside from SLD, your beloved PO had the highest precentage of ex-reds in their membership of any current poltical party. Only the Michnikite UW and UD had more red slime in their ranks edited

The Foreign Expat Legion of Blowhards somehow never mention that. Better to sweep it under the carpet, innit? Pot calling the kettle.....?

toxic

Coal can be gasified, desulphurated and closed-system burners limting emissions can be installed plus filters to additionally reduce pollution. All that costs money but it's worth it, so it's high time for Brussels to but their money where their mouth is!

But, when all is said and done, Orbanisation is still better than Michnikisation or Tuskification!

coal industry

In a country with 90% of Europe's coal deposits that would be economic suicide. If the EU is so concerned aboot emissions, let them bankroll carbon r&d so cleaner ways of using fossil fuels can be found and implemented.

Duda

Speaking at a St Barbara's Day celebration, President Duda was applauded when he told lignite miners that de-carbonisaiton would not pass in Poland, a country that has 90% of Europe's coal resources. He added that science would help curtail emissions but that is not the same as cutting back production. Today is the holiday of Poland's 200,000 miners of coal, copper, zinc, sulphur, oil, gas, etc.

The mining sector was grossly neglected by the previous pro-corporate EU-toadying PO whose only solution was to closs down collieries and throw people out of work. Hopefully all that will change now that we've got a genuinely sovereign Polish government at the helm.

Meaning that the rest will be Platformerian stooges. And PO had such stooges during their regime's heyday but wish to deny that to their successors. Biased toothless old granny, anyone?!

Supreme Court

Amid all the rhetoric and bluster circulating in recent days, someone suggested the tribunal was not even needed when that role could be played by the Supreme Court. I agree. Why have a costly extra body with chambers, computers, furnishings, secretaries, cars and the whole pricey shebang? Also the Sejm should be reduced to 200 MPs and the Senate to 50 and none of them should drive anything pricier than an Opel Vectra. The savings should be channelled to the needs of the nation, not to bankroll the perks of fatcats!
