Bye NATO...

Hmmm....dangerous!

Many if not most leftists are anti-american by nature...now with Trump on the helm even more so.....they would not protest, and save lotsa money.

The rest of us, the majority, who loves the US and still wants to be an ally would be left out in the cold! An easy leftists win....

and any references to "hate speech" tells me that the system is inherently oppressive.

Agreed!

With my growing up in the GDR I get goosebumps....and Germany has been on that dark path for a few years now....diffaming arguments as "hate and agitation" to ignore them, calling political adversaries "Nazis" to not having to speak with them....now calling to denunciate "hate speech", whatever that is...

But....the big but....if it is really meant politically to keep the adversaries small then its a big shot into the own foot. Those parties and people who really call for it are losing...losing steadily and losing big! That way gets them nowhere! So my guess is it won't age well...

On the other hand, if its really meant and used for/against example lying ads, children abuser or islamist terrorists....why not!

Wouldn't be the platform (the ISP or something of that sort) that would get the warning, not PF?

....thats the thing, I guess. We are seeing this DSA from the perspective of a social media....a talking platform, but the most what I read about it is about business, economy, something like faulty/lying ads and against pedophiles. I doubt they have some talking corner like PF even on the radar!

The big platforms like X or Meta or only mentioned with the same sentence as "...there are special laws"....not to mention that these are not seated in the EU!!!

Just lets see whats happens....before there is only guessing possible. And till now I can only one case remember....a german user insulted a german politician and this politician made use of his law to start a law case and then the police came and this whole got run in all german media and the police didn't came out looking good in this. The comparisens to a dictatorship where there and made freely....since then, nothing!

n-tv.de/politik/Habeck-auf-X-beleidigt-Polizei-durchsucht-Haus-article25365529.html

....besides this politicians party lost big in the last elections and this politician isn't a politician anymore....so....

I hate Muslim migrants.

I dunno Novi...".I hate Islam" or "I don't like Muslims" or "muslim Immigrants are the worst"...has gone through german fora in the thousands if not millions by now....I know of nobody getting punished for it (till yet...and that would really had made the news by now)....I guess that would be a fight against windmills for this DSA...not even "whistleblower" needed, heh:)

....not at last the current gov party, the CDU, plans even contacts with the Taliban to get the criminal Afghans out of the country....that wasn't possible till now....so the mood is definitely not pro muslim-coddling!

Off-Topic / Will Digital Services Act (DSA) Be The End of PF? [20]

....abit scary is the part of the "trusted whistleblower", after all someone has to search and find the culprits:

....Trusted whistleblowers have specific expertise and competence in detecting, identifying, and reporting illegal content and are independent of online platforms. Online platforms must ensure that reports submitted by trusted whistleblowers are prioritized and processed in a timely manner....

Now that is a recipe for a disaster if there ever was one....and could (will) get easily out of hand.

Todays expert whistleblower will be tomorrows bribed/paid/political adversary/economical rival informer!

I guess the only way to stop that is when the maker of this whole bruhaha get kicked out and these things end again in the garbage can!

But, to come back to your question, Anti....I doubt that PF fits any of these categories!

Off-Topic / Will Digital Services Act (DSA) Be The End of PF? [20]

...hmm....I'm no expert but as I read and understand it (in german) PF should get a warning first but it should anyhow neither fall into the target group nor is it big enough.

...When online platforms decide to remove content, they must now provide all affected users with information called an "explanation of reasons," explaining why that content was removed or restricted....

Here a translation of an important part:

....The Digital Services Act (DSA) applies to all online intermediaries and platforms in the EU, such as online marketplaces, social networks, content-sharing platforms, app stores, and online travel and accommodation platforms.

Small and micro-enterprises are exempt from some rules that may be more burdensome for them. The Commission will carefully monitor the impact of the new regulation on SMEs.

Very large online platforms and search engines (VLOPs and VLOSEs) have additional obligations....

digital-strategy.ec.europa.eu/de/faqs/digital-services-act-questions-and-answers

....and this:

...The new rules include an EU-wide framework for detecting, labeling, and removing illegal content, as well as new risk assessment obligations for very large online platforms and search engines to determine how illegal content spreads on their services.

What constitutes illegal content is defined in other laws, either at EU or national level-for example, terrorist content, child sexual abuse material, or illegal hate speech at EU level. If content is illegal only in a specific Member State, it should generally only be removed in the territory where it is illegal....

Life / A warning to Poland: Germany's catastrophic immigration policy: 80-90% criminal manhunts are ARABS / foreigner [83]

...about something so simple and so fundamental???

...not even 2015 many people thought of that as fundamental in any way (sadly) or Merkel would never had done what she did, and that was only 10 years back. We now have to somehow correct that big error!

I wish it would come from a Brit so I could be less restrained in mine.

A good reason to bow out for the night!

Why did Euro voters want all these Muslim migrants?

Because they didn't!

We never wanted Muslim migrants

Now thats interesting because I would have a totally different opinion....any Brit (but especially an older one), is and was educated with the glory of the Empire. Not some Empire but THE EMPIRE. And this Empire contains many muslim countries and cultures! I guess most of their muslims come from India and Pakistan.

Similiar to France and their past as an world spanning Empire...most of their muslims come from Algeria, Morocco and Nigeria....additionally to the rest of Africa.

Not to mention that there are also strong cultural differences between the north-afrian and asian muslims, Germany is on a totally different level, never having such a global past (most of our muslims still come from Turkey which still are far different to those from the Maghreb for example), we are not even in the same game actually!

Alone to put us all in the same Euro-drawer is just wrong and that won't give you ever a realistic answer....

That's why they don't want to answer my question if they ever asked for or if they agreed to bringing in more Muslims.

Na ja....frankly.....it did sound more like a rhetorical question. One you don't want really an "answer" for, just a validation of your beliefs. Nothing one usually spends some time on to formulate arguments for. After all I doubt any of us posters here was ever in any position to decide or even asked for his opinion! Immigration, especially muslim immigration, became only in the recent years such a cultural problem.

Just tone it down abit and you might get more, real answers....

More modern and developed than Germany.

You seem to like Islam and islamist countries.....I really wonder why. Modernity and development are not the first images springing to mind.

It's very possible that soon there will be German gastarbeiters there.

I doubt that very much....that would mean that there will come a time soon when there is not enough work for Germans! ;)

Why did Euro voters want all these Muslim migrants?

Its not that...if so then Turkey would be already EU-member!

They want in since 1987 and have applicant status since 1999, 2005 negotiations for full membership have started and stopped 2016... and this is the farthest they will ever go! Any argument against (and there are many beside their islam-culture) are true and still only one counts as the real truth behind....nobody in the EU wants a muslim-majority country in, Turkey will never ever get the unanimity needed!

History / Did Poles living in Germany support Hitler's rise to power before World War II? [151]

Thing is, "White Eagle" wasn't about conscription....it was strictly voluntary! The big difference to all able men with only the slightest germanic root, no matter how old or how tiny, they had no choice! The Poles had!

...The units were to initially comprise 12,000 volunteers and would initially be assigned to the Second, Fourth, and Ninth Armies. The strict voluntary nature of the matter was emphasized. The use of the derogatory term "HiWi" (Hi-Wi) was banned. This was strictly prohibited, as the aim was to convince the Poles that they would be treated like "real" Wehrmacht soldiers. Any contact with Ukrainian or Russian units, as well as political discussions with the volunteers, was also prohibited. ...

History / Did Poles living in Germany support Hitler's rise to power before World War II? [151]

all those whose parents were German citizens before WWI were considered German citizens, and their children were conscripted to the Wehrmacht.

I know, thats what I had learned and thought till now too....but read the article....it's about real Polish-Poles, not German-Poles....

The important point was seemingly not so much recruitment to fight for Hitler and the Nazis but to fight against Communism and the coming Soviets!

History / Did Poles living in Germany support Hitler's rise to power before World War II? [151]

A brief explanation is needed here: Hitler considered Poles (and Czechs) unfit for service in the Wehrmacht.

..yeah I wondered about that title too (as the topic made it into the german media at last).

"Unsere Jungs" (as title) and then in the first few sentences explaining that it was about forced conscription of Poles....after being told for decades that there were no Slavs also no Poles in the german army allowed, only "Volksdeutsche"....but that was most probably an error!

I found that (...a clipping from a very long, very in-depth article):
(in German....all Google-translated)

Jerzy Kochanowski

Poles in the Wehrmacht? On a Little-Researched Aspect of Nazi Occupation Policy 1939-1945. A Problem Sketch[1]

www1.ku.de/ZIMOS/forum/docs/kochan.htm

....It is difficult to say who broke Hitler's resistance to the creation of Polish armed units in the autumn of 1944. It may have been due to the efforts of Hans Frank, who wanted to use the fifth anniversary of the founding of the General Government (on October 26) for propaganda purposes. He likely found support in some military circles. The Army High Command submitted a corresponding request to Hitler on October 23, 1944, and received permission from the Führer the following day to deploy Poles in the Wehrmacht's HiWi units on the basis of the regulations of April 29, 1944, which referred to other units in the East.[49] Frank was immediately informed of this, and he "particularly welcomed this report, as it was entirely in line with his ideas."[50]

The recruitment guidelines were gradually refined. On April 24, it was only determined that the Polish volunteers would wear German uniforms and be identified by an armband bearing the inscription "In the Service of the German Wehrmacht."[51] Four days later, it was added that the volunteers would initially be enlisted for four months, as a commitment "until the end of the war" could have a deterrent effect. But as early as October 31, these fears were dismissed.[52]

The information was initially kept secret. Nevertheless, even before the official announcement of the recruitment, a poster was prepared in a Krakow printing house, depicting "a Polish worker putting down his shovel while a German soldier hands him a rifle. It was announced that the Poles, due to their 'mass, voluntary' effort in digging trenches against the Soviets, deserved to fight with arms in hand against the enemy from the East."[53] The posters explained the rights afforded to volunteers and listed the addresses of recruitment offices. Rumors of the impending conscription reached the city and caused anxiety bordering on panic. Konstanty Tchórznicki, the chairman of the Main Auxiliary Council, intervened with the "government" of the General Government on November 2 and 3, declaring that the announcement of a conscription "in the current situation was considered a highly unpolitical step, which would require serious and could have harmful consequences."[54] He was told that this was only a recruitment for auxiliary units that could not be compared to SS Galicia, but at most, if one wanted to make a comparison, had similarities with the Todt Organization. It was categorically stated that this was not the beginning of a general conscription. The Polish representative was confidentially informed that the Wehrmacht did not attach much importance to Frank's initiative and did not expect its success.[55]

Despite such statements, the military devoted considerable attention to the venture, which went by the cryptonym "White Eagle," and strove to ensure that the initiative was appropriately embedded in propaganda. On November 4, 1944, Army Group Center published guidelines for the recruitment of Poles. The units were to initially comprise 12,000 volunteers and would initially be assigned to the Second, Fourth, and Ninth Armies. The only position to be expressed to them was: "The German Wehrmacht is waging a determined fight to the last to protect Europe against Bolshevism." Every honest helper in this unconditional struggle is welcome as a comrade in the Wehrmacht."[56] Concerned about the success of recruitment, it was recommended that everyone between 16 and 50 be accepted, provided they had passed the medical commission. The recruits were to be informed that they could commit themselves for at least four months or until the end of the war. Only the latter were to take the oath: "I swear this sacred oath by God that in the fight for the future of Europe in the ranks of the German Wehrmacht, I will offer unconditional obedience to the Supreme Commander of the German Wehrmacht, Adolf Hitler, and as a brave soldier, I am prepared to risk my life at any time for this oath."[57] The Poles were to be clothed and equipped in typical Wehrmacht fashion, provided-as was noted-such equipment was available. The units were to be armed only after two months of probation.....

News / How will Trump's trade tariffs affect Poland? [74]

Aha!

EU postpones retaliatory tariffs on US products until early August

zeit.de/wirtschaft/2025-07/eu-verschiebt-gegenzoelle-auf-us-produkte-bis-anfang-august

Something is happening behind the curtains....

Despite new tariff announcements from the US, the EU plans to impose counter-tariffs only in early August. According to the EU Commission, there is still hope for an agreement.....

They are surely talking....phoning....something.....

....In response to US tariff policy, a package of EU counter-tariffs worth €21 billion was supposed to go into effect overnight into Tuesday. Even before US President Trump's latest tariff announcement, the US had raised several tariffs on EU products.

Negotiations instead of counter-tariffs

As the Reuters news agency reported, citing negotiating sources, several EU countries - including Germany - advocated for temporarily suspending the counter-tariffs over the weekend. This step was intended to facilitate negotiations with the US government.....

Life / Immigrants in Poland [26]

Interesting development....

For the first time in 25 years: More Poles are leaving Germany than entering

msn.com/de-de/finanzen/top-stories/zum-ersten-mal-seit-25-jahren-mehr-polen-verlassen-deutschland-als-sie-einreisen/ar-AA1IsSPX?ocid=windirect&cvid=d5c4424352eb4cc5a214ba860b2b15e5&ei=10

Germany, long one of the main destinations for Polish emigration, recorded a decline in 2024 for the first time since 2000.

Destatis data shows that 90,807 non-Germans moved from Germany to Poland in 2024. 82,082 people emigrated in the other direction.

Although Poles have long been moving to Germany, the number of emigrants increased sharply after 2011, when Germany fully opened its labor market to workers from Poland and the seven other countries that joined the EU in 2004.

"According to the German Statistical Office, more Poles will return to our country from emigration than emigrate to Germany in 2024," writes Andrzej Kubisiak, deputy director of the Polish Institute of Economic Research (PIE), in a post on the X platform.

"The trend is broader and also applies to other CEE countries, but given the demographic challenges, this is good news for Poland," he adds.

German media, such as the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ), also commented......

......

.....By comparison, Poland's economy has grown faster than any other EU country over the past three decades.

According to Kubisiak, there are no longer such strong incentives to emigrate among Poles or residents of Poland in general.

During the event "Deregulation. We're removing obstacles, we're making life easier," held on Monday, Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk praised the country's economic development.

"The Polish economy will rank 20th in the world by 2025, overtaking Switzerland, and the purchasing power of a Pole is higher than that of a Japanese," Tusk said....

Sounds good! Soon Germans will come for work....or our immigrants, that is...

Life / Will Poland ever be multicultural like Sweden, Germany or France? [283]

Moroccans, huh?

Not a first....the young North Africans (Maghrebinians) are really the worst kind of immigrants a country can get and should be forbidden!

In Germany at least since 2015, starting directly after the big invitation from Merkel that summer:

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2015%E2%80%9316_New_Year%27s_Eve_sexual_assaults_in_Germany

During the 2015-2016 celebrations of New Year's Eve in Germany, approximately 1,200 women were reported to have been sexually assaulted, especially in the city of Cologne. In many of the incidents, while these women were in public spaces, they were surrounded and assaulted by large groups of men who were identified by officials as Muslim men of Arab or North African origin....

....problems with these people never stopped since then. I wonder why that is. Whats going wrong in their "culture", their education....is it tradition?
