Been down a bit of a rabbit hole on Wikipedia and concluded I need to learn more about industrialization under Tsarism - what is a good book ?
From what I can read many of the most advanced factories were in Poland - not just Lodz but also Sosnowiec, Pabanice, Lublin

North Nigeria was then as it is now - decades behind, a feudal dictatorship where people wore shoes made of tree bark
As for the early 2000s well I can't even be bothered to look it up, but GDP is only 2.3 trillion today, 25 years later and in terms of economic growth it has been left in the dust by Poland, Czech, Romania, Croatia and all the Baltics

The 30th June is in Europe a day when lots of buy and sell orders are activated - especially in Germany and France because of local tax issues
PolAm has so far the best individual stock CRCL which is 116% up but is let down by his oil picks
As for the rules - it was clear this is a year long contest and as I'm funding the prizes I'm judge and jury.

In fact if we talk about buying power then the difference us between 82k in the US and 43k in Poland
But inequalities in the US are higher and hardly anyone has free healthcare, college education is ruinous and the US have less holidays
No doubt the US is richer but on quality of life the gap is much narrowr

And most of all they have clear war aims. Most of the farm boys have no idea why they spend a year 6km outside Pokrovsk when they could be at home with their girlfriends getting happily drunk
