I don't give a flyin' toss about this thread, it's idiotic, but this comment needs to be shot down.
What does the average Pole need to do to "travel abroad"? For most, they're a few hours' train ride or less from Germany/Czech Republic/Slovakia/Ukraine/etc. Think about what it takes for the average American to "travel abroad" and on top of that, where would that person go? Just drive into Mexico, a total $hithole, or Canada.....a place that essentially has nothing the USA can't already offer. Go farther north of Canada, you have nothing but ice. Go farther south from Mexico, it doesn't get much safer there either, or it's flat out 3rd world living.
Also, there's the vacation time thing. Americans don't get nearly the amount of vacation Europeans do. 2 weeks is standard here and many laborers don't even get paid for that time off.
Poles travel abroad much more frequently (49% of Poles been to a foreign country at least twice while only 20-21% of Americans hold a passport)
