Will Poland help defend Greenland against US Imperialism [333]
Yeah, a head of superpower willing to attack a peaceful allied country, what a relief...
An interesting article about the backstory of that:
reuters.com/world/why-does-trump-want-greenland-could-he-get-it-2025-01-08/
The thing seems to be that the few thousand Greenlanders want to become independent from Danmark, but without all that danish support they will need someone else to pay for them...they might want to join the US peacefully!
....While Greenlanders want independence, they are well aware of their economic reliance on Denmark. One option could be to form a so-called "free association" with the United States that would replace Danish subsidies with U.S. support and protection in return for military rights, similar to the status of Pacific island nations Marshall Islands, Micronesia and Palau.....
.... When asked about Trump's renewed interest this week, Frederiksen said: "We need very close cooperation with the Americans."
She added: "On the other hand, I would like to encourage everyone to respect that the Greenlanders are a people, it is their country, and only Greenland can determine and define Greenland's future."....I don't see US troops invading Greenland....but alone the strategic position and the undoubtful rich natural resources, some of them very rare, make Greenland a valuable morsel....I personally see Trump just having set a big heap to show the interest of the US....nothing more, nothing less.
