stole our gold

That same gold that was returned in full to Warsaw.

treated our officers

Gave them citizenship and housing.

sold us down the river to uncle Stalin

The Yanks did that. They hate you.

Polish food items that we can buy in their shops

Plenty there

Or free peeing and free sh1tting lol

Why not? I see this in Poland sometimes.

The law is the same all over Iran.

Its application isn't..,

What is it called - cultural imperialism?

I wonder what some think would happen if clothing rules in traditional societies were relaxed.

Even Saudi can be very chilled.

Iran? A big population and what you get in one place isn't what you get in another.

Nothing "self enforced" needs a morality police

The Middle East is not a 'one size fits all' place.

Quite a few people don't wash themselves often enough and I wouldn't want to be forced to feel the odour of someone's

That's pretty well any tram in Warsaw.

And women and girls would have to wear panties during periods anyway.

Aren't British migrants doing the same?

No. People used to be able to get sausages from an Irish guy in Mokotów who made them however his neighbours grassed him up to Sanepid out of spite.

Poles in the UK are mostly (not all but probably over 51%) from those who were not doing well in Poland in part because of limited educational and social capital

That's a fair call. Police in some parts of southern Poland said there was a massive drop in crime because so many of the local young Buraki left after 2004.

I was once on the phone (in my home town) and after finishing, a young lady said to me in Polish "Ooh, Pan is a long time in England because Pan is starting to speak with an English accent". When I told her I live in Warsaw she went quiet then whispered "I've heard Warsaw is a very big city".

Life / Why do Polish people throw trash on the ground? [12]

nazi stuff, it's mainly just the Celtic cross and occasionally acronyms for things like "white power

Under Poniatowski Bridge it said for decades "Farawell (sic) Ian Stuart". They never cleaned it off u til the whole bridge was repainted.

Scuse the typos. Using a phone.

They don't even bother to clean off the Legia crap that stays on the walls for decades

Try a game I used to play. Works on teams and the WKD. Close your eyes and see if you can count to ten before seeing graffiti. It rarely reaches about five.

South end of the city.

The opposite of me though inwazji Urzynow when I first came decades ago (a much smaller place then) and in Dolny Mokotów for several years. Some of the parts just beyond Mordor and also bits of Stegny are graffiti central.

or even the far-right stuff

Łódź is especially bad for that.

then that trained some homeless people as English teachers

There were courses for educated unemployed and one of the possibilities was learning to be a language trainer. I employed a guy (I'd actually known before; he was a journalist but had worked for 20 years in the same niche magazine and didn't really have transferable skills when the magazine went bust) who'd done such a course. It was life changing for him. Not a great teacher however sadly for so many it's just a means to an end.

Living in another country always involves disruption and alienation.... but you'll get over it.

Culture shock. It comes and goes.

Poles in the U.K. often suffer from this, in part because they have a hard time with the mindset of those ardours them, especially in industrial regions where most of the jobs are.

I'd be disinfecting their shoes every time they

Even if they don't step in dog turds they still get fine dried turd powered in their clothes and lungs.

Horrible people around where I live

Which part of town?

Some London boroughs keep the lights lit by the £100 fine for littering. I'm surprised Warsaw doesn't.

Those beaches are for the willing though. I'm unwilling and I don't want to be forced to see some stranger's junk

Nobody would force you, and you really don't notice after a while.

I'd not use the word junk. Junk is negative. Genitalia are positive.

less disgusted

Would you be disgusted though?

Anyway, you can see more on displaying its covered by fabric sometimes. Clothes designers and their customers often like to flaunt what they've got.

This is a long way from America's illegal attack on Iran though.

Ruch didn't care British press

Empik did, and people do generally have their own tastes in media.

But do Poles really need your own ketchup, black pepper, energy drinks and fruit juice

That is so weird.

there always would be some perverts that would get aroused

There are anyway.

Who is owning the Polish stores in the UK

Albanians often. Poles sometimes on a kind of pyramid scheme/scam. The stock is loaned to them and they don't make much.

No, it just makes me feel sad

The clothing is just something outsiders see. It's generally self enforced among women. The real oppression of course happens indoors.

Men raping women and girls would be the main problem

That happens anyway.

There's plenty of beaches in Poland where people go without clothes. It's no big deal.

I personally wouldn't want to see random people's intimate parts in full display

Generally when the novelty wears off, nobody notice

how absolutely maniacally nationalistic, against integration, and arrogant about "our country's stuff"

It is very weird. I knew someone whose brother moved to London and used to take a crate of Coca Cola back from Poland on each visit.

Prymat black pepper, Polish energy drinks that taste exactly like every other

The irony is that very few of the Polish shops are run by Poles and most are a sort of pyramid scam.

Having food you miss from home is one thing, but pepper, sugar, orange juice????

I find any religion/culture telling people female hair offend God to be retarded and inhumane and deserving of becoming obsolete.

For if a wife will not cover her head, then she should cut her hair short. But since it is disgraceful for a wife to cut off her hair or shave her head, let her cover her head. For a man ought not to cover his head, since he is the image and glory of God, but woman is the glory of man. For man was not made from woman, but woman from man. Neither was man created for woman, but woman for man. That is why a wife ought to have a symbol of authority on her head, because of the angels.
1 Corinthians 11:6 - 10

That's religious conservatives all over.

It's Ironside and men like him blabbering that feminism makes women "hate men".

Basically nutters.

The world is of course mostly patriarchal howeevr it would be a better world with no rules on dress at all. Whether people want to wear a full burka or walk down the street naked and fully aroused, what's the problem?

Kings and queens of double standards

That's very true. Assimilationist however they don't generally fully accept those who do, except as some sort of novelty.

When their parents emigrated, and decided to stay abroad permanently, they became Plastic Poles.

Depends. Liverpool is closer to Warsaw than Szczecin is. 2.5 hours on the plane v. a day on the train.

People assimilate to different degrees, however it is easy to live in a bubble nowadays watching one's own TV, buying Masmix, Jogobella and even bags of sugar from home.

Women are required by law to cover their hair in Iran. T

They are in much of that region, however KSA has relaxed their rules. Most still wear the abaya though.

I know what a hijab is.

No "a". The word just means covering, as mentioned here. It is not restricted to clothing.

You see, this is what makes women hate men

Do most women hate men?

The law in Iran doesn't force anyone to wear full hijab. Only a headscarf. Most however choose to wear it since that is part of their culture.

don't deserve my manners.

You don't have any.

Calm down. It's nearly payday.

emigrate en masse to a country (e.g. the UK), and then complain about other migrants living there

One thing I've noticed is a real anger that their kids who've grown up abroad often don't see themselves as Polish.

Looks like their practice of deporting people is causing a few problems...

In January the Associated Builders and Contractors - a trade organisation - said the construction industry would need to attract 439,000 workers this year to meet demand for construction services. Should it fail to do so, it said, labour, construction and housing costs would escalate.

But Poland's 'so safe', right? Or so the far-right tells us.

In PL they pretty well all say that and pretend they've not been mugged.

The general lack of contents insurance means they don't report burglaries and other crimes aren't reported since they don't see the point.

Law / Polish Police and Their Tactics [197]

@WarSore
A poster here who doesn't post much has an appalling story about one of the bars off Marszałkowską. The guy wasn't even looking for tarts however one slipped him a roofie, took him back to his hotel and robbed him.

He died, being of an age, and the police did their best to obstruct justice, "losing" paperwork and interfering with the autopsy. Madia bar, mafia tart, mafia cops.

There are worse stories too. One about beating up and robbing an old guy who'd fallen over in the street and píssed himself. Because he'd come out of a bar, they assumed he was a foreign drunk, bashing him with truncheons in the police station and taking all his money.

Because his trousers were wet and his wallet was full, they didn't bother to check his trouser pockets. After someone did, they found that not only was he sober, but he'd had a stroke and in his pocket was an embassy ID card. He was the husband of a very senior diplomat. That caused a scandal which was hushed up at the time.

And there are worse things than that.

Polish police can't be trusted with firearms

You don't say how long you've been in PL.

If it's a couple of decades or more, you might remember the student demonstration in Łódź where the police weirdly decided to use rubber bullets on protestors.

Unfortunately some klutz in the police armoury didn't look carefully enough (some used to be barely literate) at the label on the box of bullets. You can imagine the rest.

No wonder certain criminal industries operate so openly here

There's an overlap between the police and organised crime. Even regarding kidnappings.

switching to electric/hydrogen cars doesn't seem so ridiculous after all.

Long overdue.

Iran did say that they "may" block the straits, however they are aware of course that this would be a major escalation and likely to be very hard for them to achieve.

And of course Pan Ryszard has forgotten about the Exxon and Oxy oil that goes that way.
