I,m constantly giving you substance to back up my end of the debate (argument ? I,m not arguing), when you give me nothing but abuse, and clearly your own pro PO opinions.

It seems that one of Mr Tusk's biggest problems today is that the expectation bar had been set quite high for the PO-PSL coalition. This is somewhat similar to the way it was for the Obama administration, keeping all proportions in mind. Mr Tusk and his party had always talked bold reform. They claimed they had experts who could in very little time transform Poland into a cheaply-run super-efficient state.

But reality proved all this to be largely baseless campaign rhetoric. PO didn't really have any brilliant ideas nor did they have many top-notch experts in their party. What is interesting, and probably the reason why so many people seem disappointed in Mr Tusk's government, is that many Poles actually believed his party's promises and pinned their hopes for a much more modern and efficient Poland on PO.

They bought all that campaign rhetoric hook, line and sinker and now feel a bit silly for having done so. Donald Tusk's biggest problem today is that he has lost credibility in the eyes of many people who voted for him in 2007. In his seemingly sincere and convincing manner, he promised so much yet delivered only a little. So many people simply don't trust the PM's words anymore.

This will be his biggest obstacle going into the autumn parliamentary elections. How does he regain the trust of voters? How is he going to convince people that this time, he will do much more than just make promises? It won't be easy. Next week, on the pages of the same daily, the PM is supposed to write an article on his vision and plans for Poland's future if he is reelected to office. Let's see if people will buy it this time around.

Politics is a viscious circle, the reccessions and the booms. It,s easy to create the "good times", by borrowing, just as in ones personal life. But then you have to pay back what you owe and subsequently come the "hard times".

The minute someone offends someone else ( normally politicians ), they face court action. If I was to have a conversation with someone in public and was to be overheard expressing my opinions on, for example, a minister, I could officially be cited.

In the UK I could air my misgivings on Cameron, Clegg or Brown, and no one gives a 5hit.
The primary word in this argument is " opinion ", to which everybody has a right, to their own opinion. Get it ?

That was thanks to EU funding. PO themselves have admitted they need the same levels given 2003-2013 from the next EU budget to maintain economic stability. I don,t think this will happen. Rostowski is saying Poland will meet the current requirements of the EU by 2012, then Tusk contradicts this when he says personally, that he doesn,t think the time limit is adequate to meet EUs criteria. Are these guys from the same party ?


Does the government take notice of what the electorate want ? No. They are amending bills regardless. ( to suit their own politics ).


Are you residing in Poland ? There is only a limited " freedom of speech ". Poles are still afraid to cross the line. Say the wrong thing and you wind up in court, ultimately prison.


Like I said, it doesn,t matter who governs, ( and I don,t know what manifestos they have ) but that the intentions are to serve the people, not the ruling party.

I don,t think this is the case, you are obviously a stalwart for PO, so biased with your opinions.
I am sitting on the fence and don,t care who is governing. The principle issue of being a party worthy of government, is to have a leader who is morally a good human being, hence doing what is best for people regardless of their political beliefs.

At the moment Poles are living in an elective dictatorship. I don,t regard this as democracy.

Poland must comply with EU legislation in order to reach a happy medium. The early promise shown by PO was on the foundations of work done by PIS, albeit that Kacszynski is unpopular. The fact they have done little since has led to the current decline. Social classes are found throughout the whole country, whether you,re a Gorale, warsawian or Silesian. Each have their lower class people, middle class people and upper class people. Education plays no part in these classes either. Some less educated people have made it big, when the higher educated have failed.
