I dont know how anti ship missiles work but the ability to launch them from Yemen as well as the coast of Iran may give some sort of additional reach. An aircraft carrier makes a big target and they only have to be lucky once. The Americans would not be happy bunnies if one or two were sunk and they would have to put boots on the ground for twenty years or so.

There is a concept in Islam of mutual support and social justice. It is not about hating Jews though many individuals and leaders in teh Islamic world express it that way. The Iranian regime are very careful to talk about Zionism. Israel has weaponised anti Zionism as equivalent to anti-semitism.
Iranians are mostly Persians not Arabs and mostly Shia while Palestinians are mostly Sunni Arabs... why is this their special fight?

Islam like its brother religion Christianity has moral rules devotees should follow that would impact on economic policy.
Christian countries ditched the restrictions long ago but Islam tends to stick to scripture. Its only the dictatorial slave states of the gulf who are now beginning to follow their Christian brothers in ignoring scripture when it comes to economic matters.

I would like to think thats what most people want but plenty love hollwood movies.
The 1950's coup was a disaster for Iran with a torturing, murdering dictator installed the people did rise up and remove him and his goons. The west have never forgiven Iranians for choosing their own leaders. A common problem in much of the muslim world is that the only place dissent can be voiced is in the mosques hence the proliferation of bastardised versions of islam. Immans led the cries for freedom the middle classes funded them and the left were outmanoeuvred and the rest is history.
I'd love to see the current Iranian regime fall if that's what most Iranians want but they need to do that themselves...

The only comparable situation where a ruling regime consistently tried to make water flow uphill was the rules based order's favourite, apartheid South Africa. Of course the usual suspects backed them to the hilt then their army was destroyed by the Cubans. In my country you often hear the same nonsense. The irony of people with Irish names living in Irish named areas on the Island of Ireland claiming to be democrats and discriminating against Irish people with a foreign NATO army enforcing this bigotry.

That is just blind ignorance. your assertion that most Gazans are Egyptian is a common racist trope. Israelis claim that Said was Egyptian, Arafat was Egyptian despite the overwhelming evidence proving the claims are lies. Most Gazans trace their roots to Palestine proper, they were forced from their homes. Eurocentric meddling in that area disrupted everything because the people are seen as inferior needing to be civilised. Europeans have similar to what you describe. It would be mad to suggest Spanish speakers move to Italy to make way for colonists.

The power dynamic that the colony offers to the west explains why it gets unfettered support despite what it does. The narrative in the west is of a plucky little country having to defend itself from a hoard of savages. This is an easy story to digest especially when coupled with religious tropes hence the invention of judeo-Christian values. This theological idea was deliberately changed to an overt political idea during the Cold War and now used to demonise migrants. The shifting semantics fits nicely with the expansion of the colony and its perception in the west. No one used judeo-Christian values outside of theology before the mid century.
The gulf dictators with their unimaginable wealth are courted in an attempt to repatriate the filthy lucre and these despots are loving their 15 minutes in the limelight. They however live in glass palaces. the power dynamic is against them. They are like a wildly successful rock band but the managers will end up with the money. The accumulation of wealth in one place is not good economics or politics. Iran with all its flaws standing up for itself and its ideas is good for the world. One idea they have is a single state solution to the colonial problem in the Levantine. The portrayal of an end to Zionism meaning death to Jews is a twisting of the situation.

The reason is that both China and Russia put an end to NATO's rampage after Libya. No more rubber stamp or abstentions hence the "west's" support for the head choppers in Syria. Syria was sanctioned for doing less than Israel is doing but they are pumped with weapons and intelligence.

I am not a fan of Putin or his invasion, I think the twin towers attack was unforgivable. The point is that there is clearly an a la cart attitude to this. Israel is allowed to do anything it wishes with impunity and I find that disturbing. Israel is a nuclear state and we all know how they became so, they then went on to helpApartheid South Africa develop wmds with no consequences. I have guesses but really don't understand why their abhorrent behaviour is tolerated by countries who pretend they are not facilitating genocide.
