News / Building regional alliance to stabilize Eastern Europe. [236]

So what I think Orban would want in exchange for lifting a veto

That is super interesting, I didn't know that....

But still...there is the big question of the monetary support. Usually Germany would be on the forefront, with all counting on Germany to take over the biggest part of the cost...buuuut that was during better times. Now are not so great times and we have to scratch together the Euros to get our own country working again....that is just not the time to take on additional huge costs which come usually with rebuilding a country up to EU standards, not to mention a country destroyed by war.

I would not underestimate that part.....

It is a virtual certainty that Ukraine will join the EU.

I know at least of one country which will veto it....Hungary!

But there will be more, alone thinking of the EU budget.....

but not NATO.

Even as it starts to sound like a bad record: a NATO membership was never in the cards!

That's all made up by Putin to justify his invasion....

Corrupt, dysfunctional, and war-torn Ukraine is literally being dragged into the EU.

It is not "dragged", it never was....or it would be already a member.

Every EU member knows that the rebuilding would cost the EU again Billions....and an admission has to be unanimous! That just never happened....

Because it has been mentioned....just today:

Istanbul's Mayor: Raid!

Erdogan Opponent Imamoglu Arrested

He posted a photo of the police officers outside his house online

That's also Turkey 2025!

You German worshiper are just a disgrace

Nobody demands worship, Iron.....aber imagine the whole of Poland acting like you do....wouldn't it be a wonder if Germany looks to Russia instead? Is that smart?

Kinda "self fulfilling prophesy".....I treat him like sh****t and you will see how he acts like a traiterous bastard.....or something like that.....

Well, BB, Türkiye was the only country in Europe that refused to recognise the partition of Poland.

Yeah....I admit.....that has to count for alot!

I wouldn't forget about it either.....maybe they really have a better "chemistry" than others....

Some countries that ranked higher than Turkey? Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, and Lebanon. Kyrgyzstan is a deficient democracy, whereas Pakistan and Lebanon have "hybrid regimes".

Yeah....I would like to see any alliance with Poland and Turkey as members.....that should get interesting.....I can't see any of their leaders compromising much!

Turkey is us not them

Turkey is muslim, they will never be us!

There is a reason their admission to the EU was so endlessly long drawn out and in the end came to naught! To many Europeans have a bellyache just thinking about them deep in our side....

I suppose being a reliable partner and ally for several decadea counts ultimately very little.... .

Na ja....seriously, we were only half independent during those years.....and split also most of the time!

We still have to prove ourselves.....

When left on their own, they start getting crazy ideas

....everybody and their grandmom should know that by now!!!

... we're not leaving you alone!

.....*phew* :)

regional blocks wil facilitate quick and decisive actions

Agreed! The EU as it is needs to be reformed quite abit to work better....

You are afraid of German domination???

....aaaaand, more importantly, you can't just leave us alone! We get stupid ideas.....so.....to bind us within some union or other is a good idea, it has proven to work already in the recent decades, has it not?

News / Will PiS be happy if AfD wins elections in Germany? [1303]

I heard that PiS voted in the European Parliament against a common European defense policy.

I bet it is the question of the communication....they don't want to be ordered around in German! :)

....nah....it's the same as in Berlin, or Bremen....

It's a few main cities with LOTSA outsiders streaming into and voting there. You can say that falsifies every election!

Thanks, BB! 😊

Gern geschehen!

It's not that I don't understand you concerns....but the current popularity of the AfD hast LOTSA more to do with inner-german chaos, strife and fighting than anything with expansionist, aggressive "dreams"!

People vote for the AfD instead of their still quite unclear, "wishy washy" opinion concerning the Ukraine war....not because of it!

🍺

PS: The moment the CDU ends that whole Merkel-policy and returns to her old, traditional, truly conservative policies the AfD will be history....so, our all hopes are on Merz! :)

OK... maybe it's just my Polish paranoia.

Old wounds take generations to heal, that is not only so with the Poles....a german example of this would be Frau Steinbach, one of the old guard which still feels the hurt and the loss that she suffered herself. There are not many from her generation left....

Once she is gone and laid to rest, that whole topic will die out naturally....believe you me!

do you really not see the possibility

No....there is no possibility, truly not!

There is no chance Germany rebuilds as a military power able to do any aggressive harm, believe that!

On the other hand, you know that there are also in Poland people who dream about former eastern territories, of former polish glory, especially concerning Ukraine's territory, arent there.

Nutters on the fringe of society exist everywhere...right?

PS: Germany's population is shrinking, we don't have the population to resettle more land....and the foreigners coming in have absolutely no connection to these old lands, they are not interested at all.

History / Were Marx, Lenin and Luxemburg right about capitalism? [44]

I guess once the Left cuts all that minority/foreigner/LGBT stuff out and concentrates again on the real workers they might get back to old power.

But till then they will have alot of rethinking and most probably a generational change to do....the current crop of self declared leftists have lost most of their credibility, especially with their usual audience, the workers.

It will be hard work, and will take years, but it could be done...and I would even say needs to be done, for the political balance!

Something doesn't add up here.
