I'm sure most of the time he was voted out of his mind

"Voted out"? lol I'm guessing you didn't read that Wiki article if you think that was an option.

Would the r be pronounced separately?

Yes.

from what I read Rokossowski personally saved a couple of Polish resistence members (after 1945) sentenced to death by the Polish communists

That death sentence was possible in the first place because Rokossovski gave the order for the purge in the Polish military. He didn't save the others from his own order.

I have no idea.

That's the thing, it doesn't come up in Google...

Surnames are sometimes strange.

It wouldn't surprise me if the surname sounded foreign in general, but it looks like a typical Polish surname (with an error)...

Is it completely unnatural? We do have "rży"/"rżeć" and "drży"/"drżeć" after all.

Yes, but "d", "r" and "ż" belong to the same group of Polish consonants as far as the place of articulation is concerned (przedniojęzykowe), while "k" belongs to "tylnojęzykowe" group. That's why "krż" feels less natural/more difficult to pronounce.

Find in 1949 (...) Find a Pole (...) Find a Pole that had the same level of connections in Moscow.

Find me an objective source that states that Bierut requested the Soviet government to send Rokossovski to Warsaw to serve as Minister of Defense (like, genuinely requested).

Unusual, but legit.

Interesting... I honestly find that hard to believe... Are there any records about such a family? 🤔

Not that difficult

Well, not impossible, but completely unnatural/unheard of in the Polish language...

it does indeed sound a bit Czech; they have those strč, prst, skrž, krk etc. clusters.

It's good to know that not only our language is messed up ;D 😂 ❤️ 🇵🇱🤝🇨🇿

Hahahaha

:)

I don't even comment anymore...

It's Krżyżanowski.

pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gleb_Kr%C5%BCy%C5%BCanowski

What the hell... Is that a legit Polish surname? o_O I thought it was an error...

Do you feel the Russian writing and resulting pronunciation is accurate to how Poles would pronounce it?

Yes, besides the ending (in Polish it's "и" instead of "ий" at the end).

This is a bizzare surname though... 🤔 That "Krż" would be difficult to pronounce even for Poles - it's not natural...

*starts crying*

;D

*hugs and hands a tissue* ;D

News / What should Poland do with the problem of Belarus? [1800]

Which means you don't hate the other 99.99%

Of course I don't, but it doesn't mean I want them all in my country either.

And first and foremost - there are legal ways of immigrating to Poland and of claiming asylum in Poland.

Poland could well do with a new influx of people.

Depends which people. I don't want mass immigration from Muslim countries to Poland. The example of Western countries show that the more of them come the less likely they are to integrate in the host society (since they're creating their own bubbles-communities) and that creates problems that I don't want to have in Poland.

Here's an interview with a Pole living in France about the 2023 riots - he's been living in France for 30 years and for 25 years he's been a football coach in JS Suresnes managing the U18 team:

sportowefakty.wp.pl/pilka-nozna/1068406/starcia-obok-domu-polskiego-trenera-we-francji-nie-zanosi-sie-na-koniec

"Wojtyła explains the broad scale of the problem - I think it's not even their fault - he says. - The first problem is family education. These are the kids who are being brought up without fathers. They quit school when they're 14-15 years old, they have no profession, no education. They look at the example at home where often the parents don't work - he points out. - It isn't so simple that I'll have a talk with someone and that person will change the behaviour - he adds.

The Polish coach also talks about the cultural aspect and the environment which is "sucking in" teenagers. - This is the third generation of immigrants in France. They grew up here, but they don't accept this country - Wojtyła enumerates.

What is even worse is that in every big city there is a huge problem with drug trade. Those are most probably organised groups that recruit young people. A lot of evil is coming from this. A boy who can earn 1000 euro in a day won't go to work. Those are often boys who have weak character. Many of them quickly quit training football with us, because they wanted to get results right away. Many of them don't know how to fight for themselves and sport is first and foremost a lot of effort. They want to be rich right away - tells us Wojtyła."

Later in the interview Wojtyła says that they've managed to "save" many boys from such fate and on individual basis they have something to offer. The problem is when they join the crowd. They spend with coaches only a few hours. Most of the time they spend within their community though and they're influenced by that environment the most.

And more:

"The serious problem started 20 years ago and unfortunately it's only getting worse - he says. - Every time there's an escalation. It looks like this - a mob is running ahead vandalizing everything in their path. They burn schools, kindergartens, libraries. Tragedy - he comments.

The coach is thinking about his future in this country - I'm wondering myself how long I'll be living here. My kids are finishing university, they grew up in France and they also are unsure if they are going to stay. I don't see a future for my grandkids here - he throws up his hands."

News / What should Poland do with the problem of Belarus? [1800]

Belarus began weaponizing migrants (and putain has followed suit).

Yes, and if we let them in Belarus and RuSSia would just bring more. We've already took in a lot of Ukrainian refugees. We can't just let everybody who wants in.

There's no reason for Poland to cooperate in this and there is no way that allowing any of them into the country serves Poland's interests.

I agree.

without hating on the individual migrants

I'm going to be hating on individual migrants who attack, injure and kill our soldiers, border guards and police officers.

the migrant that killed a border guard?

The one who got killed was a soldier - private Mateusz Sitek from 1st Warsaw Armoured Brigade. He was only 21:

No, they're desperate people who've been sold a dream. Blame geopolitics, not refugees.

Adult people are responsible for their decisions and actions. If I knew what is happening on that border I wouldn't take my kids and put them through something like this. I wouldn't go there even without kids. As I wrote - there are legal ways of claiming asylum.

Encouraging settlement in Poland, especially by groups with a high birth rate, would be a great way of solving Poland's population crisis.

And would be a great way to create new problems, I'm afraid. I've seen what those "groups with a high birth rate" did in Paris and in other French cities. So, no, thank you.

News / What should Poland do with the problem of Belarus? [1800]

their situation isn't the migrants' fault.

Of course it is their fault - it's difficult for me to believe that after three years people in those countries still don't know what's the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border. They know and they keep coming - they're getting themselves into this willingly and so it's on them. There are legal ways of getting an asylum in a given country.

So, they're not only getting themselves into this situation, but are responsible for their own individual actions. They're adults, not children.

And as I say, Poland's population is falling.

Poland isn't their destination.
And again - I think you realise that if people around the world would get to know that Poland is just letting everybody in, then half of the freaking world would be trying to get into the West through Poland.

absolutely desperate

Being desperate doesn't excuse murder.

manipulated and possibly drugged up by Belarus.

I haven't heard/read about them being drugged up by Belarus. You have any links for that?

Polands population is tally g, so why not?

Firstly, Poland isn't their destination.
Secondly, how many would you let in? Because once you start letting them in there will be no stopping to the flood.

News / What should Poland do with the problem of Belarus? [1800]

a couple of Polish soldiers facing aggressive migrants throwing rocks and spears at them fired warning shots into the ground and over their heads.... they were arrested by Military Police and are being prosecuted

Apparently the problem is that they kept firing at them through the fence even after the migrants went back to the Belarusian side of the border - it was the Polish Border Guard that reported this to the Military Police:

wiadomosci.wp.pl/strzelali-nawet-przez-plot-biegly-uznal-zachowanie-zolnierzy-za-niewlasciwe-ujawniamy-nowe-informacje-7035522557139712a

Second - a Polish soldier stabbed by an aggressive migrant trying to enter Polish territory illegally has died....

Even after he was stabbed the migrants were attacking him and the female Border Guard who was giving him first aid.

At another time a soldier was also stabbed with a makeshift spear:

wiadomosci.wp.pl/najgoretszy-odcinek-granicy-z-bialorusia-co-noc-slychac-te-odglosy-7032431238011584a

Polish soldiers _must_ be allowed to use force against violent migrants.

I agree.

Genealogy / Golembiewski/name help/desperate [3]

In Polish language it would be spelled Gołębiewski.

My grandma reminded him "we spell our last name WITH A W!" I never understood it.

I'm Polish and I don't understand that either, I'm afraid :)

Is this a Jewish name?

No, it isn't, but someone with Jewish roots could take this name or marry into a Gołębiewski family, I guess.

Off-Topic / Let's talk about shoes [296]

Being at home does not mean that you have to look bad lousy

Sure, I like wearing nice or cute/fun slippers myself at home, but I've just never thought of home slippers as something that men would pay attention to or find particularly attractive on a woman lol I think the only time I've noticed a man being visibly interested in my home slippers was when a courier came with a package and he seemed to like my panda slippers ;D

I think the one associated with soft make, it somehow goes together with feminine image.

OK, but leather slippers? They're not particularly soft and they're usually brown (I somehow don't find that sexy in home slippers for women). Could you post a photo as an example of what you have in mind? 🤔

Btw:

a home slipper

But any slipper or the ones that look pretty or particularly feminine? Because I don't quite get it... 🤔

leather proper home slipper, very feminine

That's even more surprising...

No, its called acceptance, but not necessarily "sexy" don't exaggerate with this optimistic viewpoint.

I don't exaggerate - that's the real life experience of many wives lol :))

The reality is that attractive people or someone you're attracted to will be attractive to you usually no matter what they wear. Attractive people could wear potato sacks and they would still be attractive people lol Of course, they would look better or even more sexy in the right clothes, but that's all. It's the less attractive people that usually need "help" by the means of clothes, etc.

For me the attractive shoewear on a woman is a home slipper, leather proper home slipper

Well, that's rather surprising for me... I wouldn't consider home slippers as "attractive shoewear" lol

So whats your type of sexy shoe on a woman?

Definitely not loafers or birkenstocks, which you apparently consider "feminine" :)

Yes, it did cross my mind indeed

That's good - so maybe you're not a total moron after all lol

You contradicted yourself, women like to look good all the time when in public or when someone else they want to impress is around , thats what I also wrote.

No, I didn't contradict myself at all. You wrote "sexy". "Looking good" isn't the same as "looking sexy".

Also, "sexy" is subjective. It may mean different things to different people. For some men a woman looks sexy only if she wears tight dresses, mini skirts, shows cleavage, wears high heels and heavy make up. For some others a woman in a long, summer, flowy dress wearing sandals looks feminine and that's enough to consider her "sexy" for them. For some others a woman wearing jeans and T-shirt may look sexy if she's physically attractive. For a husband who wants his wife she's "sexy" even if she's tired, sweaty, wearing sweat pants, a T-shirt with a stain from baby food and messy hair lol (that's at home, of course, not in public)

No, that's your problem too if you want to attract men.

Did it cross your mind that there are times when women DON'T WANT TO ATTRACT MEN? o_O Like, for example, in the freaking church, at work, kid's playground or if they have a husband or a boyfriend. Are you a moron? 🤦

At least I look good and you could try it as well sometimes

How do you know I don't? Most women try to look good.

Off-Topic / Let's talk about shoes [296]

But it is not just about you women, men want to look at a woman

o_O

That's not women's problem what men want to look at lol 🤦

a woman who looks after herself and if she wants to be treated better then she better put some effort into her looks

"Looking after yourself" and "putting some effort into one's looks" doesn't equal "sexy".

Well, first of all they "should", and they may if they wish. Women's sole purpose on this Earth is to look sexy.

No, they shouldn't and it isn't, you f*cked up weirdo.

And we always want to look "sexy".

I somehow don't see that when I look at many men lol Maybe it's the men who should look after themselves more if they want to be "treated better" and put some effort into their looks? Women are already putting a lot of effort and money into their looks, maybe even too much. And we would like to look at nicely dressed men too (it doesn't even have to be sexy - just nice). 🙄

You're seriously sick in the head.

they should wear feminine shoes that make them look sexy

Well, first of all they "shouldn't", they may if they wish. Women's sole purpose on this Earth isn't to look "sexy". And we don't always want to look "sexy". A woman doesn't need to look "sexy" when she's at work, when she goes to church, to play with kids on the playground, when going jogging, shopping, etc.

But these are usually high-heeled shoes with a narrow front, which after years of wearing cause the development of hallux valgus

They also cause back problems, legs' pain and swelling of feet (due to bad blood circulation) - if worn often. Humans simply weren't made to walk this way.

Where are women on this faking forum? They should be commenting

I don't understand what's your problem exactly. I don't know any woman who would wear men's shoes lol

gay commentry by Alien about visibility of feminine shoes in women with thick calves

What's "gay" about that comment?

USA, Canada / Why Americans don't allow men to be in briefs at the beach/swiming pools? [90]

Surf wear is what most Americans purchase..

You mean this?: o_O

what

but there are heterosexual women still around and out of those many do obsess with man's knickers

I don't recall ever paying much attention to what men wear on the beach... Admittedly, I don't obsess in general over what people wear in public.

they do want to see them worn by men at the beach.

Only by men who are fit :P Old men with big bellies in speedos isn't something that many people would like to particularly witness, I think ;) I guess you could say that speedos are the equivalent of women's sexy bikini. 🤔
