News / Polish coal will be back [141]

the British government

The Tory party.

I still hate Thatcher

She won't be needing coal to stay warm where she's gone to now.

chinks

Chinese companies?

I've long said that the U.K. should open some coal mines; the place is made of coal. The government of course; no need for private 'investors' to make off with the money.

DM is actually better that MSM

The Daily Mail is certainly 'MSM' personified.

As lowbrow mass market newspapers go, it's about as mainstream as it gets.

How was the scandal reported in the country where it happened?

You are trying to outlast me again...

Most people reading this will outlast you by several decades.

No, moron...So-called MSM routinely start with "Sources claim that..." Duh!

No, moron, tabloids have lawyers and have to check their "someone said" stories carefully.

What did other newspapers, perhaps ones in the country it happened, report?

Does this one clam much?

Then you say

You don't.

You report facts not hearsay if you have lawyers that are any good.

British....law

Did you think there was such a thing as a British legal system???

Stick to things you know about like delinquent daughters.

What a stupid post

Yes, you are.

You are an absolute pill.

The exact words were not known, hence not reported in your trashy tabloid.

Would you rather they made something up??

Off-Topic / thinking of writting a book about myself [219]

the more inclined I am to think that what Lazarus is saying isn't so far from the truth.

Sadly, it's based on truth, and there are a couple of other things that haven't been mentioned.

On a much lighter note:

an uncanny resemblance to Humpty Dumpty

He does, doesn't he.

That got me thinking. I knew he reminded me of someone. Someone from 70s TV. I had Don McLean (the guy with the comedy ostrich rather than the American Pie singer) in mind but a look on Google images said no. I still had him in mind though. That was when I settled on Don Estelle as second best and put some pics here.

Then you mentioning Humpty Dumpty got me thinking again and after racking my brain, I finally remembered who he resembles. Don McLean wasn't so far off; it was his comedy partner on Crackerjack, Peter Glaze.

This is Jim's double, Peter Glaze. I bet they've never been seen together...

What a stupid rant.

Nobody cares what a particularly trashy tabloid read by the uneducated elderly says or doesn't say, however if they say something's unclear that not is probably unclear.

After all, it's full of smut and bike from the front page to the back page.

support Islam?

Very few Muslims are Islamists, and in any case people tend to have what ever religion they're born into. And generally support it, whatever negative aspects there may be in any given culture.

And after all, why would someone live their lives according to the most conservative elements in society? Outside the countryside and closely-knit communities, few would bother trying.

Language / Game - guess Polish idioms/sayings in direct English translation [1756]

I've an idea that it's about wandering over the Czech border by mistake, getting lost. That happened to me once.

And I've heard something similar used in Warsaw ironically about women making a discreet visit to a clinic.

What a meltdown.

And the funny thing is that Jim will be on here all night. He do better to try and instill some values into his son, Little Stabby, now he's out of jail.

How many school mass shootings did NK have last year?

How many judicial murders did it have?

Your country, Poland, is far safer and far freer than the country you're an immigrant in.

Pretty well anywhere in Europe is more free than there.

News / How will Poland be affected by WW3 which has now started [559]

Europe could win a war with Russia without NATO's

Most of NATO is Europe and most major European countries are members,

ussia is too weak to successfully invade Poland.....they can't even do it in Ukraine!

They know very well what would happen to them were they ever to try.

English queen, Polish żona and Greek gynaika are all descended from the proto-Indo-Europeapn reconstructed root gʷḗn (woman)

And also the words quaint and cünt. It's all part of the Indo-European family. There are cognates in Kurdish and Punjabi too.

Though not wench, which seems to come from a verb about movement. Perhaps distantly related to the word wank. They may well be related to the verb to send. As in the Wendish people, another word for Sorbians. That sounds a bit like Serbian. Does that mean that all Serbians are wankers?

shooting B has exactly zero to do with freedom of speech or "democracy"

Don't you like democracy y?

And freedom from risking being shot is pretty important.

North Korea

A weird comparison, considering the number of their citizens that they kill. Not great at making arguments, are you?

stupid

Yes you are, and insane too.
