News / Why should Poland consider pursuing a strategic alliance with Russia? [396]

the title question is still valid - do we risk more being allied to Russia or being eternally hostile towards her?

Can anyone answer the question already?

No?

OK, I will give you more time to think. Just don't take too long... until the answer is more than obvious.

News / Poland's aid to Ukraine if Russia invades - part 25 [1150]

and a huge reconstruction bill?

Especially that whatever reconstruction money Russia throws at Donbass, the EU can throw ten times and more the amount into Ukraine proper, so eventually an average Ukrainian will live a much better life than an average Donbassian (not to mention an average Russian). This will inevitably lead to huge resentment.

The price was exorbitant.

Now imagine what the price for the war against NATO will be, because all the signs on heaven and earth show that Russia will invade a NATO member in 3-5 years.

you are yanking my chain

I'm not. Show me one post where I praised the cowardly London "government" or the bunch of retards who decided to start the Warsaw Uprising instead of preserving the most patriotic youth for the coming reconstruction of Poland (it was blatantly obvious in late summer 1944 that Germany will lose), and saving the civilians of which we had already lost millions by then. Just one.

Don't get me wrong. September soldiers were heroic (as our soldiers usually are) and the Warsaw insurgents' bravery was legendary. Slava to their memory. But the "gentlemen", the "szlachta" who caused all that should be cursed forever and their names covered in infamy until the end of the world.

Polish peasants always paid the price - storming Russian cannons with scythes and suffering blood, tears and hunger. Polish intelligentsia populated the gulags, concentration camps and secret police basements, getting a bullet to the back of their head as a reward for their patriotism. Meanwhile, the "gentlemen" in London argued for the governmental positions and dreamt of regaining power after the war.

Warcholstwo, prywata and liberum veto is what Poland could always count on from our "gentlemen". F*ck them with a broomstick.

gentlemen like you

I am most emphatically not a gentleman but a former skinhead and currently a working intelligentsia member, thank you.

Gentlemen caused partitions, ran away to London in 1939, and started the Warsaw Uprising. F*ck 'em.

News / Why should Poland consider pursuing a strategic alliance with Russia? [396]

a sore point for the Poles

Not for me.

Soviet Union under Gorbatchev (1990) admitted responsibility and expressed regret for the executions, and later (2010) Russia did the same.
Putin was the first Russian leader to attend a memorial ceremony at Katyń.

Good enough for me. That Georgian c*nt, Stalin, killed more Russians than Poles.

Russia didn't pay as much as Germany?

They paid with the lives of 600,000 soldiers who died kicking nazis out of Poland.

September 1, 1939

We will never see invasions like the one in 1939 again. Way too expensive for today's bankrupt world and way too many young men taking part in them for today's demographically collapsing nations (both Russia and the West).

Half-arsed SMOs is all that we will get, and repelling a half-arsed SMO is not beyond the capabilities of a determined and brave medium-size nation like Poland.

I win.

I would tell you what you win but I decided to be nicer to people.

your points are pointless

My point is that if Afghan sheepshaggers could defeat the invaders from both Soviet Union and the USA, then perhaps not all is lost for the rest of us.

I can expand on mine

No, thank you. You already wrote all you wanted to write here a cuntillion and eight times; no point writing it again for the cuntillion and ninth time.

Is there anything unclear in the above?

You've been repeating the same thing over and over again for about three years now but none of points 1-3 is by any means certain yet.

Poland is growing very fast in the right direction all by themselves is my way of thinking.

Growing during peacetime is one thing, Johnny. Properly preparing for war is another.

Poland should already be building Swiss-style territorial defence and train (re-train) adult population for military service. Unfortunately, it's not happening. HIMARSes, Apaches and K2s won't win the war - it is the grey soldier that decides any prolonged conflict. Poland is, to a large extent, a victim of her own success - a G20 economy and practically non-existent unemployment make military service unattractive to majority of suitable men, and it is men in uniform, trained and ready to fight, that Poland needs the most.

Maybe the Slovaks and Hungarians got it right? The USA is not going to invade them, Russia might, so why take any chances?

I am shamelessly bumping the thread because the title question is still valid - do we risk more being allied to Russia or being eternally hostile towards her? Food for thought...

Ukraine is not Poland's friend

Never was.

Russia will win anyway

All depends on the definition of 'win'. Every country plays their cards the best they can, but I'm afraid there won't be many 'winners' after the dust settles.

News / European News and Poland Thread - part 4 [1096]

What did you think of the book?

I liked it.

Socialists are not idiots and some of their ideas actually make sense (not to mention that those ideas would seem to be based on common decency, at least ostensibly). The real world application of those ideas is a different matter altogether though. :-/

workers' control over the means of production (...) rein in the worst excesses of the greedy (...) not for profit enterprises (...) reduce the tax burden on workers (...) employee owned companies (...)

Lovely.

Who do I vote for in Poland for all that? Lewica? Razem? Yer havin' a laugh, Jonno. That's the problem - no credible parties or politicians to realistically conduct common decency politics.

it's somehow acceptable for 'investors' to make more money from someone's job than the person actually doing it

Yeah, ragged-trousered philantropists and all that. What's the alternative though? We tried communism/socialism - it stinks, and the "third way" has the angry face of Greta Thunberg and Klaus Schwab in a turtleneck telling us that we will have nothing and be happy. F*ck that.

Perhaps we can celebrate Ukrainian independence day without banderist shouts? Your provocation is obvious and pathetic, Jon.

Happy Independence Day, Ukraine! 🇺🇦✨

24.08

Wishing you strength, peace, and unity. May your spirit of freedom continue to shine brightly, and may your people always walk proudly in courage and hope.

May your hard times quickly come to an end, and may the wounds from the past between our nations be finally acknowledged and healed. Keep strong, Ukraine, and remember who gave you your name and who recognised your independence first.

From Poland with Love 🌻💙💛

Poland will overtake the NNs in about 2033

Unbelievable.

All these resources, all the oil and gas, all the natural riches...

If only things had gone differently in 1612, America and China would be our faithful vassals today.

News / War propaganda - are we really THAT retarded? [28]

I recommend trying Tygodnik Powszechny

I've been a faithful subscriber since highschool - good recommendation.

The best option is to read from left to right: TP, Przegląd, Do Rzeczy, Najwyższy Czas, Warszawska, Myśl Polska etc. Don't close yourself in any information bubble.
