He's a Venezuelan and his mother works in a restaurant in Toruń, close to the bar where the victim worked. She's been living in Poland for quite a while and her son came to visit her in February and stayed at her place without working anywhere, just playing console games most of the time and leeching off his mom. What? It is all over the internet and the newspapers. It even provoked anti-migrant protests in Toruń and Bydgoszcz.


Nothing wrong with them. The rapist is 19 years old and his life is pretty much over. The police caught him very quickly (in about an hour), so in a way he was lucky. He will most likely spend his life in prison, and this life will be neither easy nor probably very long.

I'm not old enough to remember that but my Dad used to tell me how in 1967 and in 1973 the entire Poland (well, not the troglodytes but the entire thinking Poland - people that matter) were celebrating because "our Jews were f*cking up their Arabs". There is a bit of this elation in the air these days too, only this time our Jews are f*cking up your Persians.

You keep insulting Europeans generally and Poles specifically, not to mention members of LGBT community, so you are in no position to lecture people about avoiding insults. Say what you want and deal with the response--that's what internet boards are all about.

I would prefer if you kept posting on issues that you have something interesting and valuable to say about, like abortion, and refrained from posting about issues you don't understand, like European history, but it's not such a big problem for me. People have been talking nonsense online ever since the Internet was invented.


They are wrong about the former - you are not a moron (well, not technically anyway), and might have a valid point on the latter (all your attacks on Poland and Polishness are, frankly, despicable considering your ethnic background). Sorry but it's an unreasonable condition. If Novi's behavior merits a warning or a ban, he will be warned or banned no doubt. Until then he has the same rights as any other member.

The forum is moderated very liberally, that's true, but the same rules apply to all users and maybe we should appreciate the freedom of speech that we have here a little bit more.

Has Poland or any of those countries threatened to level Tel-Aviv to the ground?


Iran doesn't have nuclear weapons and hopefully they will never have them. States under Islamic sharia law who have explicitly expressed their genocidal intentions should not be allowed to have weapons of mass destruction.

As for Israel, if a country is surrounded by enemies who want to slaughter them - not just defeat their armies but murder the civilians as well - then they have full right to do anything not to let that happen. Iran's highest authorities explicitly stated that they would "destroy Tel Aviv and Haifa" and "wipe Israel off the map", so they shouldn't act surprised or shocked when Israel uses any means possible to destroy their nuclear program and change their murderous regime.

I'm afraid Polish public opinion is divided on the matter.

People are indeed tired with the eternal trouble in the Middle East, but I am quite sure that those who give it a moment of thoughtful consideration can see that Israel really had no other option but to do whatever it takes to stop Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. The fact that they would like to force a government change in Iran is quite understandable too. Israel's in a zugzwang, their every move is pretty much forced.

Yes they are and yes they have.

They are, however, also a totalitarian theocratic regime that enforces Islamic Sharia law in public and private life, especially for women, and suppresses any form of dissent - critics, journalists, activists, and protesters are regularly imprisoned, tortured, or executed. This totalitarian regime has directly and openly stated its aim of destroying Israel. So what was Israel supposed to do? Wait until Iran gets nukes and destroys them? Israel is a very courageous nation that has the guts to stand up against this tyrannical regime and stop them before they get the weapons of mass destruction. When somebody wants to destroy you, you have a commandment to destroy them first, and that's what Israel is doing.


But, Ryszard, you have spent the last three years explaining to everyone that Russia is not the aggressor, and that they only made a preemptive strike because NATO was encroaching on them. So make up your mind - is a nation entitled to a preemptive strike if it believes it's for their own survival or not?

Wow, this really escalated from my post #271.

I only mentioned Novi tongue in cheek - saying that a board that he will join won't know what hit them. I am all for freedom of speech, even if it means freedom to be an arsehole sometimes (and I'm not a saint myself either).

What I wanted to achieve was to remind and maybe encourage more people to chip in for PF, the place that has been our digital meeting place for many years now, but I can see that the donation counter is still at $1710, so it looks like I failed successfully.

If only 20 people gave measly ten bucks every month, we would have the bloody $2400 in a year. We don't have it, so we are either a bunch of miserly pr*cks, Bangladeshi shoe salesmen or we just don't care about the place that much - take your pick.

You already had the EU. Before the war EU's core, with Germany at the forefront, was eating out of your hand. All you had to do was calm Poland's fears and somehow include her (i.e. Central Europe) in your plans, and the alliance of sorts was quite possible. However, and perhaps to some extent understandably, Russia never treated Poland as a serious player. You saw us in a similar way as we saw Samo... erm, Lithuania, and that fueled firstly a moderate Russophobia and secondly a distrust of Germany (Nord Stream, talking to Russia over our heads). The war helped Americans to push Russia out of Europe in both economic and political terms and I can't see how this might realistically change in the foreseeable future.

So, all things considered, Putin - as brilliant, psychopathic and honourable as he is - made a mistake with his Ukrainian affair. A terrible mistake.
