I don't know about public reaction but Orban should rather worry about the reaction of the well trained and experienced Ukrainian army. If they can hold the NNs off for 4 years, I'm imagining that a Hungarian invasion would be something like a comic opera.

I don't know in reality how many Hungarians still obsess about this - probably around 52 percent which seems to be the way to win elections these days. The other 48 percent who speak English, pay most of the taxes and just want normal prosperous lives would probably be horrified by the idea

For who ?

Not for me - I have some inconsiderate migrant neighbors but apart from that I have made money and hired new people from the opportunities and I quite enjoy the more cosmopolitan Poland

Not for Poland - living standards and all economic measures have improved hugely since 2010

Rest of Europe - well it's patchy but doesn't feel disastrous.2010 we were told the Euro would collapse, followed by the EU. Neither has happened. Paris and London and Frankfurt have not burned down - they remain very in demand places to live and work

If you are a person who sees everything through a lens of discontent then probably it's a rolling disaster. Quite frankly i am getting sick of the grumpy old reactionaries moaning about this and making it a wedge issue

But in Poland all of those things exist and where they have been challenged it has been rather by Polish "patriots" than by migrants

And it is the same in all Europe's democracies. Except Britain where church and state have been combined for centuries

What do you mean ? What things bother you so much ? What are the values you care about so much ? I have 4 - rule of law, democracy, personal freedom and a free market. And they are all still standing - in fact I see far more of a challenge coming from right wing oddballs and quasi religious nuts than from migrants.

Really I am a pretty right wing person but this constant whinging about migration is a real turn off.

They build some mosques ? Big whoop - who cares ? Churches are still available for anyone who wants

They eat their own food ? Big whoop - I can get Polish food whenever I want and in France, Germany, Italy there are always loads of local food options

They listen to their own music, watch their own tv ? Again who cares

As long as they fit into our electoral and education systems and work then I am generally OK with it. Certainly tired of the old white moaners using this issue to hijack almost every other debate.
