Polish nobility - what is the status of princes and aristocrats in modern Poland?

There is no accomplishment in being born into noble family.

My opinion too, though 50,000 hectare estates impress many people

There's also still the House of Lords with 84 hereditary aristocrats sitting and the others being people awarded a title due to (usually) very distinguished service. Like an unelected Senate, and here in Poland, Senators impress. They're expected to be trustworthy people.

One reason to regulate titles if the exist at all.

Senators are politicians- you won't find many having good opinion of them :) And they are elected which is better than being born into it or getting it for some silliness.

I really prefer the system when it's only a nice dinner story rather than legally recognised thing. To each their own I guess

When it comes to power and influence as a group, it is next to nothing. Although we can hear about single descendants from time to time. E.g. Konstanty RadziwiƂl is a PiS politician, was Health Minister.
