Hi, I am trying to find some of my late father's family,he was born in Zbarazh, South East Poland in 1912 and eventually moved to Ternopol, where he lived until he joined the Polish army, he was taken prisoner and sent to Siberia I am not sure but I guess aound 1939,his name was ZBIGNIEW DE PRAWDZIC KUCHARSKI,when he left Poland he left behind three sisters, all were married we know Wanda was resettled into Germany in 1939, there was also

Janina/Yanina, Zofia/Sofie/Sofia, their names being Kucharska before they married, these two we can't find any trace ,can anyone tell me what would happen to the Poles that were in that part of the country in 1939,Sophie had two boys, don't have names .

Also can anyone tell me if you can get Birth/Marriage/Death records for that area that is now Ukraine and where ? do you get them there or in POLAND if you have any information please get in touch, my father eventually settled in Scotland.

Not much. The profession is 'kucharz' (jestem kucharzem, I'm a cook) and the surname is Kucharski/a. Polonius3 might know more, but as far as I'm aware there are a lot of people in Poland called Kucharski (I know a few) and there probably isn't any specific geographical connection.
