Poland's economic future?

personal insults against Dirk

I dropped the personal insults a long time again now after my spats with Johnny. Wot are you on about? There is no complex subject - Poland's growth is down to the heavy investment from the EU, and I for one am absolutely delighted with it.

When we are talking facts and coherent argument, the facts are that without the European Union, I, and not Dirk of course, would still be travelling around on tinpot roads, still be eating Polish "TV" dinners of half frozen pierogi, and would still be teaching English in a coal mine.

personal insults against Dirk

How is it insulting to call Dirk a Pol-Am?? He is. He was born in Poland, moved to America when he was six or seven years old and has lived there ever since.

As for DougPol's competence, he's as competent as anyone on this forum and far more so than some. None of us are economists or civil servants nor are we members of parliament or even local government. We're just ordinary people whose information comes from a variety of sources accessible to us all and from our own personal experience, so we're all equally unqualified to discuss these subjects!

@Dougpol1
Yea, if you're going to shoot off at the mouth about his "hatred," and then when presented with the evidence about why your statement is hyperbolic and patently untrue, choose to obfuscate and change the subject; then yes I am going to call you out on it for making a statement which you are either unwilling or incapable of backing up with evidence. If you further try to distance yourself from it, I am going to reiterate it once again until you present some evidence or issue an apology. So do we want to rehash the statistics about the violent crime in Europe and who's committing it, or do you want to continue to misconstrue factual information as 'mean' 'racist' and 'hateful' ?

@Atch
It would be about as insulting if TheOther who is living in America were to tell me I am less American because I'm currently living abroad. It's MY country and NOT his. In this case, Dougpol is a GUEST in Poland, while Dirk is a CITIZEN of Poland, those are very very important distinctions and the precision of language when discussing them is important. Your 'feelings' about its perceived fairness is absolutely irrelevant, and the only thing germane to such a discussion is the LEGAL distinction and what rights are conferred to each party based on the distinction of citizenship.

NONE of the people other than Syrians have a legitimate claim to asylum

But that is not so Sig. Anyone fleeing a war zone is entitled to claim for asylum, which of course doesn't pertain to guaranteed qualification for same, as circumstances in geopolitik change. Those countries at the time of mass exodus included parts of Sudan, Libya, Ethopia, Afghanistan, etc ..... Like it or not, but have a look at the 1951 Geneva Convention, which of course some would like to rescind if they could.

That was brought in to help peoples in future like the Poles in 1939, but some people have a memory fail.
In the meantime, even though this a period of growth, PIS have no real policies for the economy, and all they can do is invent intruigue to keep their brain-washed voters happy. Rather like in America in fact:)) Strange times, and very interesting for history.

@SigSauer

can you please cite the study you are referencing which backs up this claim?

I just found this website where this and other arguments are explained in more detail.

government.se/articles/2017/02/facts-about-migration-and-crime-in-sweden

family member whose life becomes irrevocably damaged

If we go with this kind of reasoning, we would have to ban anything that is remotely dangerous. You would have to ban beer, because drunk might to stuff that could hurt other people. Instead we have decided that the actions of a minority should not be used to condemn the majority.

Obviously you could also argue against kind of immigration this way because an individual might be the victim of an immigrant. Only recently my grandparents were almost cheated out of their savings by an Eastern European gang that used the despicable method invented by Polish immigrants. Am I supposed to argue on base of this experience against Polish migeants?

Something similar is also mentioned here.

NONE of the people other than Syrians have a legitimate claim to asylum

This is not true. While for example most applications made by Afghans are rejected, a minority could prove that they have been targeted directly by the Taliban and thus have claim for asylum. Even people from Africa have sometimes claim for asylum because they can prove that they were targeted for their belief, sexual orientation or because they criticized the government. The problem is, that every case has to be examined first before an an deportation can be made.

should not be in Europe,

Sure, but what is your alternative solution? Those people enter among genuin refugees, and once they enter Southern Europe, those countries let them travel North because they are sick of having to deal wirh them alone. If we had a proper relocation system that would distribute the refugees across Europe, we could build large camps in which refugees are detained and investigated first. But Southern Europeans have no interest with such camps since they fear that they will be stuck with the refugees.

ent. That would please me.

Somewhat understandable, but we are licing under the rule of law and punishments have to be according to the crime. Sentencing someone to solitary confinement (which is not even a valid punishment given by a court) is disproportionate for the crime of having a claim for asylum rejected.

his "hatred,"

A lot of Dirk's speech is "hate speech" though, or would be, through Anglo-Saxon eyes. I forgot that he was Slav. That too is a racist insinuation,; do you like it?

@Atch

 he's as competent as anyone on this forum

There might be areas where he is competent, but he has repeatedly shown that he has no deeper knowledge about Poland or the EU. He is ignorant about the importance of the EU for Poland, as he said he is even proud of his ignorance. Even if you try to correct him he'll simply ignore you and your sources and state the same nonsens again and again.

I'm currently living abroad.

I think that's also an important distinction, 'currently'. You are an American working abroad on a contract but you haven't lived abroad pretty much all your life. You were born and raised in your country of birth, educated there, worked there etc. I think there is a difference.

Dougpol is a GUEST in Poland

the only thing germane to such a discussion is the LEGAL distinction and what rights are conferred

Well he's not a guest because he's a permanent resident. In addition to that he has certain rights as an EU citizen and can vote in local and European elections. Voting in the European elections means that Doug has a say in issues of national importance and as a permanent resident of Poland, he is represented in the European parliament.

To be fair as somebody who has spent a sizeable chunk of his adult life in Poland and experienced first hand nearly thirty years of change I would say that he is entitled to some respect, especially from two people who don't even live in Poland at all. Doug's everyday life is directly affected by events in Poland while yours and Dirk's are not.

@TAcitus I was talking about Doug, not Dirk.

If we had a proper relocation system that would distribute the refugees...........build large camps in which refugees are nvestigated first.

This. And Poland infamously refused to make any contributions to the setting up of such camps. Leaving the Italians holding the bath water.

Doug's everyday life is directly affected by events in Poland while yours and Dirk's are not.

Bless:) No, really, I am very happy that Dirk and Sig love their country of heritage - that's absolutely as it should be. It does rankle just a bit though that they seem to know what is good for the people here, and that all is fine and dandy in Poland, because they read it in a Neo-Con newspaper, and grandad Henryk from Kielce is so happy that his 5 grandchildren have new train sets, provided by that lovely benovelent government that loves its' people so much.
Atch 21 | 4156

Sig isn't Pol-Am which makes it even worse! I really don't know why Americans concern themselves so much about Europe. They'd be better off sorting out the mess in their own country first.

@Dougpol1

"Hate speech" is not a legitimate term in any legal lexicon. It is a fake, made up word, which can be used to stifle opposing opinions by conflating genuine racist hatred with opposition to such things as immigration. We refer to it as the path down the slippery slope, and it leads to censorship.

@Tacitus

My solution would be tighter border security, and implementing a policy similar to Australia's,"No one who arrives by boat will EVER be resettled within Europe." You don't have to be inside the United Kingdom for instance, in order to file your claim of asylum. Furthermore, these asylum seekers would be just as safe in Belize, Equitorial Guinea, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Mongolia, Malaysia, the Maldives, Indonesia, South Africa, or the Solomon Islands. The idea people fleeing actual wars should be resettled in the most advanced and wealthy societies on Earth is quite distasteful to me. But this is really a matter of opinion rather than policy.

Yes we could make that argument about beer, but we all have beer in the supermarket. As I pointed out previously, there exist other safe countries they can go to. Germany has a policy where any asylum seeker convicted of a crime punishable by more than 3 years must be deported. I disagree with this policy completely. I believe any asylum seeker who breaks any German law should be immediately deported. They should be held to a higher standard, and not break any laws in order to show their gratitude to their hosts. We know for a fact that female genital mutilation occurs in the United Kingdom, yet the first 'landmark' prosecution has only just begun in November 2017. Can you at least concede that hyper political correctness is causing real harm to people, and in this case children? Authorities allowed over 1,200 underage females to be sexually abused for 10 years because they didn't want to appear racist. There are consequences to these policies.

I have given a bit on this issue in our discussions Tacitus, so at least a few concessions from you would show me you're reasonable and not an ideologue.

So do we want to rehash the statistics about the violent crime in Europe and who's committing it

Violent crime is one thing and terrorism is another. In this technological age, acts of terrorism will happen, and increased tech helps to prevent this. Even at the height of "the Troubles" Londoners didn't go around shaking in fear; I was an 80s resident, and we lived as normal amidst scenes of terrible carnage. The same goes for you in America with your terrorist acts. Should we, the British, ban Americans from entering the UK?

Please explain why a wave of refugees and migrants would necessarily harbour more would be terrorists amongst them than a group of Americans with an axe to grind (no pun intended) What type of studies could prove that theory?

I suppose you could ask them to complete a survey on the lines of: "Good morning, could you help us with our research for a moment if you have the time? Are you planning to use that bottle of water and that Red Cross sandwich to blow up a few non-believers today? No, just tick Yes, or No, in the box provided. That's great....... Thank you so much. Sorry for the ignorant inherently stereotyped questions, but we had to ask, because we have a mad paranoid government, and we have been brainwashed"

Hate speech is very clearly defined in many legal lexicons. Most countries of the EU have such laws on the statue books. It is also clearly defined by the Council of Europe. The one people who didn't make a hate speech law were the slave owners of 18th century Virginia who probably didn't anticipate Facebook or social media trolls.

You arguments about crime in Sweden and Germany have been rebutted on many occasions by their governments - the Swedish government even made a special page because they were sick of right-wing trolld using those arguments.

As has been pointed out before there are also significant increases in crime in countries following Polish immigration - it was a long and boring useless thread about it in the UK for example

You don't seem to have solutions to the problem apart from moaning about immigrants. The German and Swedish government were reacting to this in their own ways - both of them have been through elections since this time.

"Hate speech" is not a legitimate term in any legal lexicon. It is a fake, made up word

Doesn't work for Poles though does it, when the rest of the world is forced to point out that the historical facts are that a specific proportion of Poles murdered or directly contributed to the deaths of their Jewish neighbours? We are not talking about refusing to aid Jews, because what would we have done? You talk in that post of free speech, when the government here are trying their best to minimise the same.

A good example that you do not know what is going on here.

No one who arrives by boat will EVER be resettled within Europe

Again, I refer you to the Geneva Convention, which is sacrosanct. It's called a humanitarian Act, the meaning of which fails some people, even as they get down on their knees before their God.

The gist is this: Once a person, fleeing from war, lands on a continent, he cannot be returned against his will to that War-zone.
Is that simple enough?

Yup and thankfully our fine government and border gaurds will prevent any such people from entering poland. They can go elsewhere we poles clearly dont want them as evidenced by numerous poles. If it was only syrian refugees thatd be fine but the reality is young male economic migrants are flooding europe from every sh1thole around the world. Finally transit countries like bulgaria are forming vigilante squads paid by the government for every illegal migrant they catch and kick out. This shouldve been done years ago.

You should know better than most that what is written in treaties and what actually happens on the ground are two different things - just like britains breaking of the mutual defense treaty with poland in 1939 and failing to provide rhe support stipulated in the treaty
SigSauer 4 | 378
7 Feb 2018 /  #226
@Dougpol1

Quite simple, and in the case of Australia they have housed people who arrive by boat on Papua New Guinea. They are safe from the war they fled there, but as per the Australian law because they did not follow the proper channels of asylum they are being offered resettlement in third countries, and this seems perfectly reasonable and within the bounds of humanitarian law as they will not be forced to return to a country at war. I thought I read that resettlement in Zimbabwe was offered as well, but I can't find the article so it may have been unrelated, however if that had been offered it seems equally reasonable.

To your earlier point. No, there would not be a significant difference between a group of Americans with an axe to grind. However, Americans do not have a systemic problem of axes to grind via indiscriminate attacks on people going about their daily lives, if they as a group or rather a pervasive American ideology led to significantly higher numbers of such assaults and murders, then yes I'd see it as a prudent criticism. The ideology in question DOES have a problem with systemic violence, oppression of women, and murder. This doesn't mean all members of that group are beholden to that, but it does mean there is a systemic problem which should be openly discussed, debated, and criticized; as all ideologies should. Recognizing this objective reality is not an indication of 'hate' or 'bigotry,' but rather a path toward rectifying such a problem within that group via dialogue and discourse.

@cms

Slavery was also legal at one time as well, but we've realized the error of our ways. I view hate speech laws with the same contempt that I view the laws which allowed one person to own another. It is a loosely defined set of criteria, and here in the United States speech which would be prohibited needs to meet a stringent 3 criteria test in order to be deemed illegal. A person does not have the right to be free from "emotional distress," as the way that I read many of the 'hate speech' "laws." I fail to see a victim, or how speech alone can cause physical harm to another human being. It may invoke bad feelings, but sadly many of the cases I've read were merely people being mean. I see it as an existential threat to political speech, and the criminalization thereof.

Maybe you should tell israel about that. They took in a whole 1 person from syria. Let them set an example and allow thousands of muslims to come in, pay for their housing, their soccer team of kids, let em build mosques and maybe just maybe then poland will.follow israels example. You can view the hate speech laws with contempt- i dont much like them either. But they do exist, have been implemented by democratic govts right left and centre in Europe and if you want to live in one of those countries then they should be respected just like speed limits or laws on smoking weed.

There is in fact a long tradition in the US of disgruntled and alienated whites masscacring people indiscriminately - in cinemas, discos, in McDonalds, at school, at music festivals, sports events, college campuses etc etc.

The people who cross illegally make it harder for the individuals who actually go through the right channels. Unfortunately for every 10 africans pretending to be gay or bearded muslims saying theyre 14 years old theres perhaps 1 going through the legal channels.

Hardly a fact or a long tradition to say the least.

Dirk the number of murders by whites in the US is multiple times the terrorist muders in Europe. It is obvious that violent death is far more common in the US, even in nice towns, than in the most dangerous parts of Europe.
Dirk diggler 10 | 4452
7 Feb 2018 /  #232
Of course violence is common in the us. Most of it nonetheless is commited by blacks despite being only 13 14% of the population. Thats insane considering roughly 70% of america identifies as white meaning over 200 mil people yet despite that a small minority of 14% overwhemingly commits most of the murders. If you check the stats for murders in places like uk germany france its clear that non europeans, namely muslims commit the majority of crimes. In germany and sweden even police admit that migrants commit some 90% plus of the violent crimes esp rapes. Its no different in france - most of thr crime occurs in no gos/sezs which is overwhelmingly non european.

If we compare all whites to all muslims in the world wed see radical muslims all around the world killed over 20,000 people im 2017. Amd thays just in terror attacks not armed robbery, drug disputed etc. White Europeans and white americans dont come close to that number.

In any case, regardless of what the stats say polish people and the government do not want migrants screwing up our country as they did in germany, france, sweden, etc. Such is our sovereign right and desire of the majority of citizens. Same as hungary czechy and now austria.

No **** Sherlock. Seeing as Africans are housed in areas of high density, and if you put peoples close together, you will get high crimes.
Google Katowice Zaleze if you have difficulty grasping the concept. Oh, and those are white people.
What racist nonsense, perpetuated by racist politicians, that racists vote for. If it wasn't so sad it would be hilarious how these statistics are interpreted.

It's like, let's find a newspaper where my horoscope (Cancer) is favourable. Oh yeah, there it is! In only the fifth newspaper I looked at. Romance is in the air, and a windfall is just around the corner! So Astrology must be a valid guide to my life after all!

Seeing as Africans are housed in areas of high density, and if you put peoples close together, you will get high crimes.

Not true. There's very high density in the people who live in the bloki in Poland, yet hardly any crime. Why? because Poles aren't animals like the migrants that came in and don't kill and rape anything with a pulse. In morocco, 15 men even gang raped a donkey and the government BEGGED for their families to out them so they could be treated for rabies.

The worst neighborhood in all of Poland's crime stats versus no-go's like Malmo, Saint Denis, etc doesn't even compare. There's no grenade attacks in Poland nor are there hundreds of rapes in Warsaw, even in the worst areas - unlike Germany which managed to score over 1,000 sexual assaults in just 1 day alone (NYE). Now, women can't even fraternize with men without having to worry about being raped - hence the creation of 'women only' areas in concerts and parties in Sweden, Germany, etc..

What racist nonsense, perpetuated by racist politicians, that racists vote for. If it wasn't so sad it would be hilarious how these statistics are interpreted.

Let's compare all of Katowice versus some culturally enriched western European cities:
numbeo.com/crime/compare_cities.jsp?country1=Poland&city1=Warsaw&country2=Poland&city2=Katowice

Level of crime 42.50 Moderate
Problem violent crimes such as assault and armed robbery 27.50 Low

now let's check culturally enriched cities

Waliyat Malmo overall:
Level of crime 57.27 Moderate
Crime increasing in the past 3 years 65.53 High
Problem violent crimes such as assault and armed robbery 54.00 Moderate

Marseillie - the biggest abomination in France, where Arabic is spoken more commonly than French
Level of crime High 73.66- can't say im surprised
Problem violent crimes such as assault and armed robbery High 67.92
oh but no one's worried about racial violence - as almost everyone's north African or middle eastern anyway
Worries being subject to a physical attack because of your skin colour, ethnic origin or religion Low 38.14

Meanwhile, CHRISTIAN POLISH Warsaw
Level of crime 28.19 Low
Problem violent crimes such as assault and armed robbery 22.17 Low

Rofl - every statistic is 'high' except for worries about attack because of skin color. They've clearly been thoroughly culturally enriched,.

As you can see, when compare no-go malmo or Marseille to warsaw/Katowice which tend to have the most crime in PL, the numbers don't even compare.

More on cultural enrichment:

In the Stockholm suburb of Rinkeby the local police station was shut down in 2014, following the latest in a series of fire-bombing riots, and the one currently under construction is reminiscent of a war-zone outpost, to which police officers will have to be driven. Sparked by seemingly routine encounters between petty criminals and the cops, mass violent protests have originated in the district most years since 2010, though just as notably car burnings and stone-throwing flash riots are at times so frequent they are barely reported in the local media.

rt.com/news/392009-eight-hoods-added-sweden-no-go-zone
complete with a vehicle being culturally enriched

5,920 rapes were reported in 2015 in Sweden

knoema.com/atlas/Poland/Rape-rate
Poland's rate stats going down, while Sweden's, Germany's, Belgium's, etc are ALL SKYROCKETING

knoema.com/atlas/Germany/Rape-rate
this shows that a woman is roughly twice as likely to get raped in Germany than Poland (Poland's values all being around 4-5 per 100k, Germany 9-10 per 100k) Homicide rate is also HIGHER in Germany than Poland - and that's taking the whole country.

otherwise the UK would be full of Eastern European immigrants right now

Then send em back - oh wait, but then you won't have anyone to work in your factories or fields. At first the Brits hated the new Polish arrivals - and honestly I don't blame them one bit for it. Soon though, they realized that Poles are by far the lesser evil once the Muslims started flowing in and beheading soldiers, driving cars into crowds, blowing people up, etc. Poles never did anything of the sort. That's why there's a lot of even UKIP supporters who have no problem with the Poles

And a great many attacks and rapes will go unreported in Poland.

Imagine how many rapes go unreported in Germany or Sweden - like the liberal politician who was beat up and raped by a MIGRANT (of course) but didn't want to tell the cops because she was worried that it would stoke anti-migrant sentiment. Pathetic.

Then you have stuff like this -

I'll keep to normal, open minded port town 3 City thanks!

Which also falls within Polish borders, hence is also under the control of PiS and hence far more anti-migrant than any libera culturally enrichedl hell like Germany or France. According to CBOS, even 50% PO supporters reject migration from the ME and Africa.

You just don't get it - the majority of Poles don't want migrants from ME and Africa in our country. Everyday that becomes more and more clear - our refusal to take any in, the MFA video (sponsored in part by yours and mine tax zloty), the alliance with Obran to reject EU migrant dictates, the tens of thousands of Polish patriots chanting Bog Honor Ojczyzna and Polska Dla Polakow while waving patriotic and anti-migrant slogans.

Is this Algeria? Saudi Arabia? Perhaps Turkey?

No, it's France - Marseille specifically. Where thousands of Muslims pray on the streets without a single care in the world for traffic and people trying to get home or to work.

We can't risk our bright economic future and security just to appease some liberals who seem to ONLY call for white European Christian nations to take in migrants, while countries like Saudi Arabia, Israel, japan, etc are off the hook.

and this was just a few days ago -

Swedish police are now dealing with so many assaults, particularly on women, as well as rapes, police are now saying they simply cannot investigate these serious crimes.

Sweden also now has over 60 no-go-zones linked to African and Middles Eastern gang violence.

At the bottom of the article you linked to is this update:

"Update:

According to a thorough investigation conducted by Moroccan news website Ledesk, the incident, which was widely reported by Moroccan and international media, turned out to be a hoax."

The article on Sweden also sounds like a hoax. The pictures are from the Daily Mail, and probably the rest of the story, too.

You need to be more judicious in your choice of news sources.

Not the donkey one...

thesun.co.uk/news/4247444/fifteen-teens-treated-for-rabies-after-gang-rape-of-donkey-as-cops-urge-anybody-else-who-admired-the-beast-to-turn-themselves-in-to-avoid-disease-spreading

At least 15 boys, aged seven to 15, have contracted rabies after gang-raping a donkey in Morocco.

The teens spent a week at the Mechraa Belksiri Hospital in the rural town of Sidi Al Kamel receiving treatment and a rabies vaccination after contracting the disease.

However, it is feared that the number of children infected with the disease is much higher with families taking their young children for tests in hospitals.

Police are appealing to anyone who "approached" or "admired" the donkey to come forward in order to be tested for the disease and seek treatment.

The donkey has since been put down.

The article on Sweden also sounds like a hoax.

Here is another article with an interview with same woman -

It is clear that there are nonstop rapes committed by migrants. Google 'woman attacked/raped in malmo/Sweden and there's hundreds of articles'

In any case, clearly not worth the risk to take such 'people' into Poland. Thankfully, the majority of Poles and our government are in agreement on this.
