Genealogy / Kajzer, Sztefko, Balcerzak, Ldziarstek, Kowalczyk: Kozy, Warszawa (Warsaw) relatives [3]

Kajzer, Sztefko, Balcerzak, Ldziarstek, Kowalczyk. From old letters I think I spelled their names right???

All names but Ldziarstek looks OK and exist in Poland. Ldziarstek seems wrong, maybe Zdziarstek/Dziarstek?

Check maybe for above names in popular social media sites like Facebook and Nasza Klasa (Polish equivalent of FB) - some relatives should live here in Poland.

Travel / Renting a Motorcycle in Warsaw or Sosnowiec. [2]

. Will I be allowed to drive on my Indian license which permits me to drive motorbikes, car and jeep. ?

If you don't have an International Permit, then you should convert it for the Polish drivers license - just pass a theoretical exam and pay of stamp duties.

Look here:
https://polishforums.com/archives/2005-2009/life/driving-licence-3377/
https://polishforums.com/law/motorcycle-drivers-license-7365/

I am looking to rent a 250 cc motorcycle, KTM, Kawasaki, Honda, Yamaha or just anything which is decent for two people and has enough power for the highways there. Where in Warsaw or Sosnowiec can I rent a motorcycle, and riding gear?.

Search google for "wypożyczalnia motocykli" Kawasaki/Honda/Yamaha etc. - I'm sure you will find several results. It's not easy to get riding gear there - you should ask first.

Kindly provide in brief how are the driving conditions in these parts of Poland.?

Nowadays riding in Poland is much better than it was few years ago. But sometimes it's hard to avoid traffic and roadworks..

- woodcut
- linocut
- dictionary
- price list
art workshop

In some other cities each year (mostly summers) different workshops are organized, but their schedule is shown roughly a month before start.

Travel / What is a better place to spend New Years eve? Gdansk, Sopot or Kraków ? [3]

This is what I've found:

SOPOT

Sopot is mainly New Year's Eve on the pier. Gathered people can count on a great, as every year, fireworks, great shimmering above the surface of the Baltic Sea as well as a wide range of pubs, restaurants and clubs preparing an excellent fun. The decision on how to spend New Year's Eve in the Tri-City is an individual choice, one thing is sure - the opportunity to be a one time lived with great fanfare will be enough.

Look also at: https://polishforums.com/travel/best-places-visit-sopot-december-72928/

KRAKOW

This year's New Year's Eve on the Market Square in Krakow promises to be a truly spectacular! The event will once again supported and transmitted by TVN station.

New Year's Eve 2014/2015 promises to be as spectacular as in the last year - it will be a big multimedia scene and known hits played non-stop! Agnieszka Chylińska will perform there, Maciej Maleńczuk, Kayah, Zakopower, IRA, Wilki, Feel, Grzegorz Hyży, Red Lips and Future Folk. Agustin Egurrola will take care of the choreography and also dancers from the VOLT group.

There will also be familiar faces from TVN. New Year's Eve concert will be hosted by popular presenters of the station like Agnieszka Szulim, Patrycja Kazadi, Marcin Prokop and Olivier Janiak.

Sopot has some very good pubs and night clubs, and is much smaller place than Krakow, but also crowdy.
Kraków - beautiful city, bigger event at New Years eve, so I would probably choose Krakow.

Polonia / Any Poles in Thailand? [3]

Thailand is a desired tourist destination for more wealthy Poles. Unfortunately more and more often, following the path of western countries, they are 'hunting' for a wifes there. I don't say that is totally wrong, I've heard about many Polish-Thai couples being happy each other, but I feel that many of the poor Thai girls are just looking for the money and foreign passport - that rarely means happiness.

But beside all of that Thailand is an exotic country for us, and many would like to visit it once.
What are your questions?

Law / Top SME Support Organizations in Poland? [2]

In Poland we have several institutions, which should support the small and medium-sized enterprises. These include:

- Polish Chamber of Commerce (Krajowa Izba Gospodarcza)
en.kig.pl

- Polish Agency for Enterprise Development (Polska Agencja Rozwoju Przedsiębiorczości)
en.parp.gov.pl

- Regional Development Agencies (Agencje Rozwoju Regionalnego)
pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agencja_Rozwoju_Regionalnego

For ex. the Lower Silesian Regional Development Agency:
darr.pl/en

The first of these, the National Chamber of Commerce, is an institution that is already in its status the assistance to entrepreneurs in running their business. This support takes many forms, including opinions on draft laws on economic or development activities and improving competitiveness. In the structures of the Chamber of Commerce are also specialized offices, including International Relations Office or European Union Office, which deal with specific segments of the economy.

It should be mentioned that in virtually every region there are chambers of commerce, in which entrepreneurs next to the information and training services can gain sought information or assistance in organizing study and business missions, or can find out how, where and from whom you can get the Structural Funds.

The PAED is responsible for some activities co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund. The fund operates under the program, which aims to improve the competitiveness of the Polish economy. Therefore, the measures shall be taken by supporting the development of enterprises and business environment institutions. The acquired funds may be designed that the entrepreneurs, regardless of company size, could for example. Take advantage of cheaper training courses or even postgraduate courses for their employees. Thanks to this money can be also organized an internship trainings for employees of companies in various research institutions. Thus, most of the grants awarded by the PAED is aid for the SME sector allocated for financing of training services, consulting and information. An important element here is to support investment. Their funding is also made possible by the SOP (Sectoral Operational Program) "Improvement of the Competitiveness of Enterprises".

In each Poland's region operates the Regional Development Agency. The rationale of its creation was the need for an NGO that works to regional development.

Branches of Regional Development Agencies have adopted as their objective to undertake various inspirational activities, while supporting and promoting socio-economic development in the region, of course, taking into account the European standards. The Agency stimulates and supports entrepreneurship, eg. through the implementation of national and European aid programs. Regional Development Agency also has a variety of grants that are available for businesses, and which can be obtained after submitting proposals.

Of course, one can argue how all of these programs are available to all interested and if they are operating effectively. Unfortunately, the government does not help in the SME's development and even inhibits it, by maintaining such high taxes..

Yes - I have it on the right side from the birth date. But not in all Polish passport you will find it.
PESEL was introduced in 1979, people who lived pernamently abroad and haven't any pesel before, got a new passport without it.
Pesel is also in Polish ID - dowód osobisty.

Look for all people who own that name and live in Warsaw, try to contact some and ask - maybe someone is related to your grandpa brother.

Female form of the name Kurowicki is Kurowicka - you may this way broaden your search.
