Travel / Wroclaw to Lubin - the best way to get there? [14]

The best way is to go to the Bus station that is near the train station. They have a big bus and a small bus that runs very often. I lived in Lubin. You are looking at between 12 and 15pln. If you take the small bus it will drop you off near Muza and that is close to the Rynek.

There is not a good way to take the train as someone already stated.

Take the bus.

In order to be accepted in Poland you must

That's a bunch of BS. I always felt accepted and I only have one of the above.

Work / Maybe moving to Poland - Help and Advice [7]

I agree, take CELTA.

It shows you are serious about teaching.

The online course can help but doesn't really guarantee you a job.

Travel / Travel: Wrocław-Berlin-Wrocław [10]

Depending on where the train runs through I have a good way.

There is some kind of discount ticket that gives a large discount in Poland and Germany.

Its called the Euro Nysa. You might have to get to Boloslawiec. It only cost me about 20 or 30 pln to get from there to Cottbuss in Germany.

I know they have a discount ticket for northern Germany and Poland.

Food / GRAPE GROWING IN POLAND? [5]

I have been in Zielona Gora. My gf's sister lives right near where the grapes are grown. I can't say there were enough to make a lot of wine. The wine museam was interesting though.

News / Why do Poland block the European Constitution? [68]

The private companies which developed in Poland in the 19th and early 20th centuries would be in the league of the Daimmler Benz, Volkswagens and Siemens' of this world.

What companies?

Law / Temporary Residence requirements in Poland [12]

Call the IRS. They will send you a copy of the past few years worth of returns. That's what they did for me. What region/city are you registering with?

This is Poland and every office asks for different things.

I found this to be true. If you are going for work, don't assume your employer knows the rules. Find out before hand.

Law / It is impossible to get temporary residency in Poland [23]

I was just pointing out that someone from the EU has it easier and I didn't think it was 4 pages. I never asked for special treatment. Britain is part of the EU and the US isn't. It should be harder for a non-EU person. Poland can have any laws it wants.

My complaint about the Polish system is that each region has different requirements. There is not one system for all of Poland. If you have read my other posts I have said that the US system is wrong and makes no sense.

The person I knew registered in Gorzow and it seemed much easier then what you stated. I don't think he had to show proof of insurance or income. However, its possible that the school did some of that for him.

Law / It is impossible to get temporary residency in Poland [23]

When I tried to register as an American it was 12 pages, much other documentation and 250pln(not exact amount). When someone from London registered it was one page and 30pln. I don't think he had to do to much more.

Life / How Fast is the Polish Legal System? [44]

A person can't get a work permit on their own. I can't just go into the office and ask for one.

It takes the help of person's company. I asked at least 20-25 times for them to do the work permit.

Life / How Fast is the Polish Legal System? [44]

I tried to do everything legal.

They did help me with all the paperwork except the work permit.

They paid for 3 trips to leave Poland.

I am sure a work permit is much cheaper then that.

I am not asking for all this drama.

I asked a simple question about the Polish legal system
