Genealogy / Looking for person in Monika Szczepanczyk Wroclaw [5]

You know her name so there is a chance that you will find her on:

nasza-klasa.pl

The site is very popular nowadays but unfortunately very slow, the best is do it late when there are not people using around 3milion registered.

On the top you need to click znajomi-friend or szukaj-search, write her name and surname in next one write the city Wroclaw.

I can not open the site for hole day today so cant tell you the exact layout now and don't be surprise if it doesn't work but they work on it so hopefully it will work better soon.

Travel / Going to Łomża, Poland for New Year, but how to get there? [28]

Did you try Wizz air? wizzair.com/default.asp?slid=clear&language=SE

Tickets cost a lot of 'siana'- dry grass-polish saying for money.

Being a cute donkey won't do me any favors?

Nope, cab drivers like salami, i mean cash...siano

Be careful with the taxi from the airport. Better if u take the bus. Cabdrivers may scum you when they will see that you are not Polish and the donkey. It has happen to me even thoug I am cute cat and Polish. I mean when you already in Warsaw.

Love / Things not to do with a Polish girl? [97]

I know some English(guy)-Polish(girl) couples and the guys wasnt keen on paying for dinner as well. The girls in Sweden fight so much about being independent. He told me that guys in Sweden are confused how to bahave becouse if he would pay for dinner with the Swedish girl, she would may be offendet. The door thing, I just want to go first noone needs to hold the door for me. He went through some school what I want and behaves perfect now. I told him 'prosto z mostu'-stright forward :-). He did it once running in front of me at the airport I was pissed off...

Love / Things not to do with a Polish girl? [97]

Curtis you seem to be clever and polite. I had to teach my boyfriend how to treat me when he was 26 he he.
After our first date I didnt see the point to see him any more cos he didnt pay for the dinner. I was shocked since in polish coultre for the first date the guy pays. Or he didnt let me go first in the door, or he used to go foward me wich was so annoying, when I was left behind and had to run after. Guys remeber girls always first. When you do shopping carry the bag. I know the dinner thing dosent apply for you since you not working and I woudnt be bother about putting away the chair. I dont like the Don Juan type either.

UK, Ireland / Polish Restaurant - Polski Kuchnia in the Greater Manchester area [48]

Yes, he lieks Poland...
Swedish food you can find at Ikea it is meat ballas, but the best is princess torta hm mniam.

If I was thinking about design for the restaurant I would do it funky way or I would put some poster on the wall with beautiful places from Poland. In Ealing the Polish restaurant is combiened with gallery. That I think is cool idea. I was dreaming about having restaurant like that where I could have my own gallery.

UK, Ireland / 13,000 Polish births this year, in the UK [180]

Let's say Poles decide to go back one day. Will the English work in bars, restaurants? Will they clean for 5 pounds-tax per hour? I hope Poles go back but I don't know if so English will to the same job for 10 pound per hour. I do not know how the potential English coustomer will be able to afford every day coffee, beer or meal att the restaurant. Before the hole Poles media maddness, and before the EU the restaurants tend to hire illegal workers who didnt pay tax. Was that better?

News / A Pole to start the HIV AIDS epidemic? [52]

I wonder as well. Aids is a global problem, and if you want to find out about that disies it is enough to google. I do not get your posts they are just so bitter. You do not need to like Poland but what is the point to write just negative stuff. It seems like you just want to put people off of going to Poland but you even do not live in Poland. The forum is for people intrested in Poland, travel and events, so why are you wasting your time for something what is not your cup of tea?

UK, Ireland / If I was to move to Poland from Ireland... [92]

Lonely I think we Polish people ( thats my opinion ) have diffrent ideas about the hole point of moving abroad. For me it was more about job then just adventure. I think non Polish people move around just more for adventure and experince something new. The think is if you feel that you want have the adventure, live in Poland just to see how it is, it can be fun experience. You can allways go back... We Poles when we move sometimes we just there to safe money and go back or to seattle down. I am not sure how would it go with you to seattle there forever but it can be good fun to check.

Travel / My town - Opole, Poland [8]

I cant resist just to do some PR for my city. Opole belongs to Slask region, an hour from Wroclaw and around two hours from Krakow. It is smaller and cheaper. My Swed friends were very happy about the trip there even thought about buying a flat there anyway she came back home with 8 par of shoes each for 20zl(that was bargains). Opole it is a modern city mostly focus on German tourists. Opole belong to Poland only for 62 years (ok and it was Polish in 1500....). The city has a lot of shops and restaurant and the best time to go there is summer were the bear gardens are open...Also fun maybe to go there when there is festival. Google Opole festival it is big thing in Poland. The city is all about the food. Of course more tourist place will be always Krakow and Wroclaw but Opole is between those two cites and if you have time left I think it is cool to see the place.
