News / Poland Rejects US Missile Shield (talks will continue...) [80]

Dude, you have a ginormous chip on your shoulder or something. First you say that it was an insult to Poland for the US to offer a free missile shield. Now you say that it's also an insult for the US not to build you a shield. You see where I'm going with this? I just have a hard time understanding your logic...

Honestly, if you hate America so much, why do you still hold on to your the US Passport? Shouldn't you return it and give up US citizenship?

Law / Polish emergency passport [12]

His father died suddenly, and he needs to fly home urgently, and apparently the Polish embassy are saying he needs to apply for a visa, which will take several weeks.

That's because Polish bureaucrats are the biggest idiots in the world.

News / Poland Rejects US Missile Shield (talks will continue...) [80]

The fact is that every time something is brewing in the world, is it genocide in Yugoslavia, pirates of the cost of Somalia, or Russia bulling Europeans around, everyone cries for the US for help. This needs to end. Simple as that.

Next time the Russians are threatening their neighbors, ask France or Germany to build a missile defence system for you, or spend $50 billion from your own packet.

I am very glad we did this. I could never understand why do we want to be an unpaid policeman for the rest of the world, bleed our budget to death to do it and in return have the people in the countries we protect hate us.

If it was up to me, I would pull out from every single country, including Germany, Korea, Saudi Arabia and so on.

USA, Canada / Polish/American food (they feed people in the US with toxins) [80]

Polish/American food (they feed people in the US with toxins)

Polish food is a terrible heart-clogging junk when you think of it from the "health point of view". However, it's truly delicious. It's all pork, all breaded, all fried. The polish "salad" is... a coleslaw! They don't even know what a salad is. Poland is too cold for salads, people! Vegetables: 100% canned. Meat: 100% pork. Most of your plate is some kind of a potato, or similar starch (pierogies). But it is good, and that's why I love it! :)

On the other hand, the American food is... yeah, what is that thing called the "American food"? Yesterday we had a grilled chicken Cesar salad for dinner (super-healthy), tonight we had pasta primavera (healthy-lecious), tomorrow we may have some Mexican junk-food for change. There is plenty to choose from here, so you eat what you like. It depends how often you choose to eat junk, we have many, many choices.

Love / IS GIRL'S HAND IN MARIAGE REQUESTED OF PARENTS in POLAND? [7]

Polonus, wtf are you talking about man? Why are you asking about the customs in Poland? You ARE from Poland, man! Why are you acting like you don't know those customs when you just recently came FROM Poland. C'mon dude, don't be silly.

This toast is humorous! But I'm not sure it's Polish.

Life / Public transport on Christmas Day in Poland [10]

Public transport on Christmas Day in Poland

Since everybody in Poland is going to drink themselves under the table on Christmas Eve, there is going to be nobody left sober enough on Christmas Day to drive buses and trains. Use a bicycle instead.

News / WAŁĘSA'S LATEST BOOK [7]

I have to confess I don't know much about this case, but let's assume for a minute that Walesa did work for the Commies. Wouldn't this be the worst job ever in the history of espionage? Especially considering that he was the main figure behind the collapse of communism in Poland? Think about it, if Walesa did work for the Commies, wouldn't they just use him to destroy Solidarity, rather then lead Poles into victory over the Commie Regime?

A good rule of thumb in these situations is to follow the money. Ask yourself: who is making these allegations and who is benefiting from them? This will probably put some light on the real motives behind these claims.

As I said, I don't follow Polish politics and do not know much about this case, but just by applying simple logic it seems to me fairly improbable for these accusations to be true.

News / POLES STILL NEED VISAS TO THE U.S.A!! [84]

It's not ours it's American. Poland will host it, but the buttons will be pushed by Americans.

Then build your own Missile Defense Shield and pay for it yourself. Or go back to be a Russkie Republic.

If it was up to me, the US taxpayers wouldn't have to pay for the European defense. I see no reason for me to have to pay for your defense out of my pocket. As it stands for now I pay for it out of my taxes. And then to make it even worse I have to hear from you winning about it.

In a way, we both agree on one point: the European Missile Defense Shield is a bad idea. You don't like it because it's American, I don't like it because I have to pay for it.

I sincerely hope that all this discussion will become irrelevant soon when the next administration will back off from these moronic plans and have other countries spend their own money on their own defense. We would not have to argue about it then :)

News / POLES STILL NEED VISAS TO THE U.S.A!! [84]

It's becoming a target for Russian nukes and possible gas/oil cut-offs (are USA going to secure Poland's energy supply continuity ?).

You can always beg the Russkies for forgiveness, dude.

Or build your own Missile Difference Shield and pay for it yourself!

You want the USA to pay for your Missile Difference Shield and you cant shut up about it how the USA should not only give you the Shield but also give you cash on top of that? That's exactly why I think US should stop defending other countrys, ie. Europe, let them spend their own money on their own defense.

Well then Bartolome, forget the Missile Difference Shield, forget NATO, go down on your knees and beg the Russkis for forgives. What's stopping you?

News / POLES STILL NEED VISAS TO THE U.S.A!! [84]

There is a lot of illegals coming here from all around the world, mainly South America. I can't blame them for trying to better their lives, but I do blame my government for letting this happened. The Government needs to implement things like visas and secure the borders.

As far as illegals from Poland, they are still coming here too, although I think it would be smarter for them to work legally in Western Europe. They just don't realize how difficult it would be for them to compete with Mexicans in the illegal job market. Just because i make $33/hour it doesn't mean that if you're looking for an illegal job you'll make the same money. We're talking $4-6/hour for crappy jobs.

I met one of the illegals from Poland just last week: no English, no permit for work, expired tourist visa, and I'm thinking to myself: "Why wouldn't you work legally in Western Europe, with health insurance, paying taxes and so on rather then be an illegal here?" It makes no sense to me.

Polish Names day traditions?

According to Wikipedia, I believe it's called "Name Day" not "Names Day". Just like it's "Birth day" not "Births Day".

News / Should rape carry a life sentence in Poland? [146]

Lukasz, are you trying to tell me you can't see a difference between free and consensual gay relationship and a Tomczak-type rapist who beats and rapes women till they dead? What's wrong with you man?
