Polonius3 1,000 | 12,446 26 Jan 2009 / #1Traditionally the prospective suitor would first ask his sweetheart's parents for her hand in marriage. How widespread is that custom observed in today's Poland? Also, it has been traditional for the girl's parents to pay for the wedding feast, whilst the groom covered the cost of the tipples and orchestra. Is that still the general rule?Just curious!

Dice 15 | 452 27 Jan 2009 / #6Polonus, wtf are you talking about man? Why are you asking about the customs in Poland? You ARE from Poland, man! Why are you acting like you don't know those customs when you just recently came FROM Poland. C'mon dude, don't be silly.
OP Polonius3 1,000 | 12,446 28 Jan 2009 / #7I haven't conducted sociological surveys in every area. Maybe such knowledge is somewhere on the net, but what's the harm in asking PFers for their take on things. Isn't that what this forum is for -- to wonder, ask, reply, share, contribute.....?
