Travel / Snowboarding in Poland [75]

I am going skiing in Zakopane in January - never been before, but I booked with Sunshine World. They are doing some really good packages (accommodation, ski hire, lift pass, 1 hr tuition and airport transfers). I decided to go for a package so that I knew what to expect rather than trying to work it all out individually - you can find out more info on sunshineworld.co.uk

Travel / Golf (courses) in Poland! [25]

Modry Las

and

Amber Baltic Golf Club

are both quite near to Binowo Golf Club, so you could easily spend a couple of days in NW Poland checking out three different courses there.

Travel / Gdansk - need some information about it [21]

It isn't even in the top three for Europe.

Really? You have shattered my illusion.

It is a bloody impressive building nevertheless...

Travel / Gdansk - need some information about it [21]

What about the fact that it's got the longest residential builing in the world (sorry, can't remember the name of it), but there about two or three bus stops that serve it.

Travel / Golf (courses) in Poland! [25]

they say golf not very big in poland

It is gaining momentum though - there was a big golf industry conference in Warsaw the other week.

Give it 10 or so years... it takes time to design and build a decent course....

Food / Popular drink shots in Poland? [28]

True it varies, the way I would make one:

Yes - that was the type that I've had.

There is no way on earth I am drinking something that is BLUE :D

Travel / Golf (courses) in Poland! [25]

I've played at Postolowo near Gdansk... I had a lesson there in June. It's a bit of the beaten track, but well worth hurnting out.

Travel / 7 days in Poland... need some advice... [20]

You need to give us a few more clues here... why are you visiting Poland, and what do you want to see and do there?

From my experience, the Warsaw underground is quite a cheap way of getting round. I tend to buy a carnet of single journey tickets.

Law / Opening a gym in Gdańsk [30]

How about a gym without blaring music, that would be a unique selling point!

There is no way that I can work out without music. I am sure that lots of people are the same.

Travel / Help with travel to Gdansk [30]

Contact the Polish national Tourist Office - they have an office in New Jersey... see [poland.travel/en-us/pot_front_page] for further information. Give them a call - I am sure that they'd be happy to help.

Law / Opening a gym in Gdańsk [30]

Lose the monthly fee.

I'd agree with that - or maybe offer two type of membership... a monthly fee for unlimmited use and a "pay as you go" type agreement / pay per visit.

One thing that irritates me about gym memberships is the "admin fee". I have yet to meet a gym that can explain what the £300 (or whatever) covers. Seems like a lot to pay for a "free" t-shirt and towel.

A transparent pricing policy is the way to go...

Travel / Aer Lingus LGW to WAW [5]

What about the sister company, Cunni? ;)

I wondered how long it would be before somebody came up with that gag :D

"Lot" is soon to follow.

Interesting... what makes you say that?

Love / do polish girls consider a english man a good catch ? [126]

but you have gone and burst my bubble now.... sob sob..!

Awww...

I should point out that I am not tarring the Entire female population of the Ukraine with the same brush. I am sure that the majoprity of girls there are very genuine. Am only basing my comments on the mail-order brides that I have met.

Lol - I don't think mail-order is the best starting point for a balanced relationship!

Exactly - hence I describe it as being at the extreme end of the scale.

I used to work with a girl who was a Russian Mail-order bride. She had a very alien mindset - very "transactional", even after she left her husband (not before securing the relevant visas and work-permits etc).
