FISZ 24 | 2,116 1 Nov 2006 / #1I love the winter season. The summer is ok, but I wait for the winter...crisp air the quietness when it's snowing...enjoying hot drinks...snuggling by the fireplace. The winter for me is magical....and ofcouse I'm a snowboarder...so it's needed :)I had the greatest time snowboarding in Poland. It's so beautiful in the mountains. I'd hate to live in the UK during this time of year. You don't get snow right?
jem 1 Nov 2006 / #2ah we have something in common Fisz Snowboarding (i have been snowboarding )I was a professional skateboarder in the 80s
OP FISZ 24 | 2,116 1 Nov 2006 / #3Skating in the 80's was awesome. I used to as well...not pro though. I still have my Caballero skull and x bones deck :)
jem 1 Nov 2006 / #4I used to skate with Natas Kaupas ,Tommy Guerro, Cabbellero on one occasion ,Natas was my favourite skater
OP FISZ 24 | 2,116 1 Nov 2006 / #5Remember Gonzo? He was jailed for murder right? I've tried skating on these new decks and it's similar to the old freestyle decks...now I suck...lol maybe a kick flip or two...that's all. I'm just amazed at the crap they pull off now.
jem 1 Nov 2006 / #6Mark Gonzales yes of course , Rodney Mullen is still skating and the GOD of modern street skating , Ive only just started skating again and i dont intend on getting competitive with it as now it hurts too much when i fall
OP FISZ 24 | 2,116 1 Nov 2006 / #7Yeah...I saw him in a competition in Canada. Yeah, my shins have been thrashed. Where do you snowboard?
OP FISZ 24 | 2,116 1 Nov 2006 / #9I'd love to go to the French alps....dreaming. Where's the closest snow to the UK?
Shelley 5 Nov 2006 / #10You don't get snow rightlol, yes we doWhere's the closest snow to the UK?Scotland closestor you can take your pick fromFranceSwitzlandAustriaItalySlovakiaPolandor even Czech rep.oh and Bulgariaall about 2 / 3 hours away...France is probably the preference as its resonable and Bulgaria is cheap.
Shelley 6 Nov 2006 / #12you have colarado (I know it spelt wrong!), what more could you ask for....xxx
OP FISZ 24 | 2,116 6 Nov 2006 / #13True... but....that ALPS :) Colorado and Tahoe are awesome...don't get me wrong...been there done that. My goals are Alaska heli skiing and the French alps. I WILL make it one day.
OP FISZ 24 | 2,116 11 Dec 2006 / #15Snowboarding isn't looking so good in PL this season. Kinda warm lately.
Lakelandhiker 1 | 42 11 Dec 2006 / #16Skiing in Scotland is not that good. Its Ok for a day or 2 but I wouldn't dream of going there for a weeks holiday. The snow is also pretty unreliable too - its usually that windy it gets blown away! It would be better to save up and get a last minute deal to the Alps. Are any of the Polish ski resorts expected to open soon?
Amathyst 19 | 2,702 11 Dec 2006 / #17Ive just got back from Poland its warmer there than it is here...how upset was I??? All ready for getting wrapped up and shivering instead it was very mild and rainy...was nice though...Hopefully it will be cold enough to freeze the balls of a brass monkey in Feb when Im there next
Syrena_04 2 | 88 11 Dec 2006 / #22That's global warming for you. London, Ontario, had 40 cm on Friday. :)
Syrena_04 2 | 88 11 Dec 2006 / #24dark... very very dark... But only until Dec. 21. Then, not so dark anymore :)
OP FISZ 24 | 2,116 13 Dec 2006 / #28Anyone ever been to Janskie £aźnie? It's part of the Krkonose boarding the Czech rep and PL.Thx
Matyjasz 2 | 1,544 13 Dec 2006 / #29Nope. But I just saw a forecast saying that there will be snowing a little bit in some parts of Poland in the next week. :)
