Please explain how the Soviets were able to arrest people who emerged from tunnels on the opposite side of the river from them. Do you even know how wide the Wisla is as it runs through Warsaw?

2nd look at 1:00 min. they were in the sewers for 20 hours in Old Town. At 3:00 min. you will see where Stalin refuses to allow Brits and USA to help.

Every jew I've met here has been nice to me.

I aggree but I can say many of the parents are stand offish. It drive even the Jewish teenages nuts. I think this also depends on where they live and life experances.

Murdoch made his remarks Wednesday evening in New York upon receiving the National Human Relations award from the American Jewish Committee.

Murdoch also said of Israel: "In the end, the Israeli people are fighting the same enemy we are: cold-blooded killers who reject peace... who reject freedom... and who rule by the suicide vest, the car bomb and the human shield."

But the Uprising finished on 2 October 1944 and the Soviets entered the Old Town in mid January

the sewers in Warsaw do not run under the Wisla

look at the map on 1st tube, just about, this map also was has a circle connecting sewer vs. yours. They went in the sewer just after the only US flight in and that was Sept. 17, 1944.

This was reported to both US and Brits and Stalin did not deny so why is this so hard to believe. They went into the sewers and headed toward center of city as it was still in Polish hands, not toward Wisla.

Soviets were fighting Nazis and you don't think they were able to reach Polish?

No the majority of Polish are Catholic. Yes there are Polish that are Jewish faith but a much smaller %.

Soviet is a big umbrella, Soviet citizens, Soviet leadership, Soviet security forces. Where are these numbers from?

You are right I am talking about the number of Jewish in Russia many holding high positions in Sept. 1939. This was our conversations on the link I gave you.

And 67%, to take the smaller and incorrect number, were Polish not Jewish.

Poland embraces new effort to fight anti-Semitism

I find it ironic that they are saying they must fight anti-Semitism in a country that just put a Jewish Polish Museum. I guess I would have to ask the ones in Poland if they feel the problem is so out of control that the children should have this included in their schools? Personally I think teaching our children compassion for all others (leaving out Jewish) would be more helpful. I do know that any group can claim anti actions that were directed toward them so IMO we have to stop falling in this guilt trap from Holocaust. In the long run it may be doing them a favor.

You will get there. Poland is starting to take a stand and speak out it just takes some time.

I could not beleive this from the producer of Defiance. From denial to "(And what does it matter anyway?") I guess to Holocaust studies it matters. Openly admitting to killing Polish and in a "war for survival" does he know they were from Poland and ran from the woods to kill Polish families, children, burn them within homes. But they were with the Soviets. Wonder if he knows that Soviets turned on Jewish when all was said and done?

Anger over Bielski detachment film

The "allegation" that the Bielski unit participated in a joint operation with the Soviets to wipe out Polish anti-communist units - and that Tuvia Bielski may have helped the Soviets find a Polish underground leader - is hardly surprising. The Bielskis were fighting on the side of the Soviet Union and some Polish outfits were not. They were enemies in a war for survival.

This embassy has been in touch with Defiance's only distributor in Poland, Monolith Plus, and we have been told that this film has not experienced any form of booing, let alone been banned by any cinemas. While the historical accuracy of the film is debatable, the film itself bears no association with Poland whatsoever - be this in linguistic terms (German and Russian phrases appear frequently throughout the film) or geographical references.

Do they deny this? Not when they are referred to as the chosen. His beliefs were not that far off. He was looking out for Poland. What we must remember is what date he stated some of the things he did. We may hold a certian belief today that in 30 years is very differant.

I think we have a better chance of seeing God. A start to a more civil relationship may be for Russia to boot Putin and KGB mindset. Let the Russian people learn the full true history so we can move forward with a understanding of respect.

Why not for Polish ?

Truth is Soviets where in charge of Poland and they had what they wanted. There are Jewish Poles that get compensation from Germany just not the ones that are left out of Holocaust. In fact 6 million was the # of Jewish Poles prior to 1989, when that # was cut in half to 3 million and 3 million non Jewish Polish listed the money collected on behalf of latter non Jewish Poles was never given to them. In the USA victims of Stalin and/or non Jewish victims are not in Holocaust.

I aggree Salomon, in fact I feel Russia should pay compensation to both Poland and Germany. Soviets took eastern Poland and paid with the land Germans resided on.

When you don't pay your debt it is not forgotten.

Germans murdered 6 mln people in Poland. 3 mln were Jews ... the rest was ethnic Polish.

How many were killed on Stalins orders? This continued ever after the end of the war.
