History / WW2: Britain Declares War on Germany to Save Poland [290]

Again you fail to understand.

I was just wondering what those numbers were from...I'm not trying to downplay any country here. Take out one single country from the alliance and the war would have been much different. Each country played a role, small or big.

All I wanted to know is what those numbers stood for; dead in concentration camps, casualties of war, etc.

UK, Ireland / 13,000 Polish births this year, in the UK [180]

maybe there wouldn't be so many brits out of work if poles didn't steal their jobs

Or you could work harder? Maybe you could have went to Uni and had a better job, so that no dirty stinky Pole could ever steal it?

Racist bastard

i just said that 90% of crimes are comited by non muslims

Yes. So how does that make the other 10% not muslims. How does that work? Do the math.

there was no payment in kind.

I would consider it a late payment, or a payment made in installments than no payment at all. Fact of the matter is, YES, France and England tried to save Poland, but came too late. Germany was too strong at first but eventually the war was won. My only problem with the whole thing is that how quickly Poland was given up to the Soviets.

Good men like Winston Chruchill regretted every doing it, but it doesn't change the fact that it happened. We are still allies today, and hopefully we'll be more honourable to each other in the future.

I don't undertsand the point of converting. All you prove is that you never had very much faith in the first place. How are people supposed to see that you have faith in this new religion when you already changed your mind once. Doesn't make much sense to me...

Scotland and Northern Ireland are part of the UK ....)

He said England...

Very impresive, but, individual kills are worthless in those types of air battle, what counts is coordinating between other Sqdrns to acheive combined aims, even the biggest supporter of the Poles in the BofB admit that many of these kills were gained at the expense of keeping formation/acting effectivly as an air barrier.

I know, but numbers like those certainly help. Eliminated that 12% of thousands of German aircraft and what do you get? More bombing of England. I was just merely pointing out that others were there and they made their presence known...

No right minded Briton thinks "we" won the war alone, we all know that ww2 was a combined effort

Every country has its trolls...

The UK stood alone for two years while most of the other European nations rolled over

So the Polish pilots had nothing to do at all with the allied victory? England, without the help of Polish, Czech, French, Scottish, Welsh, Irish, Canadians, Indians, etc. would have fallen just as qucik - fact. Accept it.

we had a few refugees helping us fly planes etc but the bulk was British and thats it. We held of the German onslaught for two years and I repeat we stood alone.

Yeah, with 5% being Poles that held 12% of kills in Battle of Britain. They killed twice their numbers. Not to mention that there we Czechs and many other groups helping out too.

News / Poland turning into a religious state? Polish politic and Church. [96]

Because then someone would make the arguement that it's profiling. Just like here in the states. Some parents were upset about the words: "under God" in the pledge of allegiance, so they wanted it banned in school. Their solution: make it optional.

Those same parents argued that their children would be made fun of for being different. What those parents don't understand is that because of them they would be made fun of. Nobody gave a damn until they started to b*tch about it.

With one solution you get another problem. Just leave things the way they have worked before you make more problems for yourself.

While I think electives would be the best bet, others would just argue with me about it. It's a never ending debate. Nobody can win.

We should teach differences of beliefs, respect of the difference, everybody's point of view, tolerance, and not only one point of view, one religion.

If 100 people at work want a company picnic, and the 101st bastard doesn't, how do you please both groups?

LoL what religion/belief is supposed to be the "good one" ?...

Neither. No one religion is the right one. You have options in life, you make choices, and you live with it. Why do people always bring it down to that; Which one is right and which one is wrong? Neither and all. In the end we all want the same thing: to be in a better place.

1 goal - many paths to achieve it

- And why not? There are other compulsory subjects too. What's the difference? Why should knowledge of Christianity mean not to let live? And Poland is still a Christian - Catholic country; Christianity is closely connected with our national culture and values. If the majority wants the knowledge of Christianity to be a compulsory subject, what's wrong with that? Does democracy mean the rule of majority or minority, Polson? How should knowledge of Christianity hurt atheists or non-Christians? Does e.g. physics hurt those students who don't believe in physics? Or does it make any one of those who study physics a physicist?

I agree 100% with this statement. If someone doesn't like the way something works, they should move on. Just because Catholicism is taught about and discussed in a Polish classroom does not mean they are trying to convert non-Catholics.

So, in short:

Why fix it if it isn't broken? It's worked this long, leave it be.

Love / Things not to do with a Polish girl? [97]

Are you saying if I wanted sex with her that I'd tell her anything and do anything for her just to get it?

That's how it works most of the time, yeah. Why?

I'm talking about politic and education

Yeah, in the past wars have been fought over religion. Poland called for help against its pagan neighbors in the past = Teutonic crusaders invade lithuania and eventually Poland sides with Lithuania to fight off the controversial crusaders.

i don't care about what people think

Shame one you.....

Poland turning into a religious state?

When has it not been a religious state? When has religion not effected the choices most Polish people make?

Saying it's turning into one is stupid. It's been religious from the start, it just has new issues to face.

UK, Ireland / The Changing Face of Scotland - we need more immigrants! [178]

Just thought of something. Wouldn't it be great listening to a Scot trying to teach a Pole proper English. The two accents would be great. What would the Polish accent sound like trying to speak in a Scottish dialect?

So many funny images...

:]

Scots and Poles will get along great. They'll drink, dance, and play football together. That's the recipe for perfect harmony.

How many arms has he got?

2 that I know of...haven't really seen him with his shirt off. Although his girlfriend Shiba has about 8. Can multi-task with the best of them. :]

Working and living in Scotland (working with a large Polish group and also socialising) I have yet to see Scots go "out of their way" to integrate with Polish people. Individuals yes, but the fault of not integrating lies on both sides.

Whether it's right or wrong, a lot of Polish people arrive here (UK) with poor English speaking skills so it's natural to want to be in a social group you feel comfortable in eg - that you can comfortably communicate in.

That'll all change soon. People will see the light, have no fear. :]

News / Illegal immigrant tries to get into Poland in a luggage [19]

No, my hand does. I just sit there.

What skill. I like to draw also. I'm more architectural than cartoonist, though. Doesn't keep me from trying sometimes. :]

Was the Ukraine woman charge with carrying an illegal immigrant into the country?

Most likely...
