more than 80% of Polish society is pro-european ....

I would be greatly astonishe if Poles were pro-african. They are Europe residents.
I think, Lukasz, your opponents think only that some EU structures may damage Polish interests

News / Jan Barszczewski came to Russia 2 days ago!!! Receive him in Poland!!! [8]

Topic attached on merging:
Koszka, Cialica Zuk & Zaba. A question on RP history

In Szlachcic Zawalnia by Jan Barszczewski such lines are quoted:

Koszka Cialicu zabila,
Zuk, Zaba Koszku sudzila;
A ze sprawa byla kiepska
To przeniesli do Witebska

What about the real case in History of late 18 century that was in the basis of that words?
As far as I know Zabas were Lithuanian Magnates. Koszka Zuk and Cialica may be also surnames.

News / Jan Barszczewski came to Russia 2 days ago!!! Receive him in Poland!!! [8]

Two days ago Russian intellectual Dmitry Vinokhodov concluded publishing in Internet his translation of Szlachcic Zawalnia, czyli Białoruś w fantastycznych opowiadaniach by Jan Barszczewski.

barszczewski.spb.ru/zavalnia/index.html

That is a historical event for Russian culture although today Russians know very little about this great masterpiece published written and in Polish in 1946 and Belorussia's in 1990. Well, slow but sure will be the penetration of Barszczewski into Russian cultural and in some measure spiritual life.

This translation seems to be the first example of enthusiastic and non-commercial translation of literature in Polish into Russian and its publishing first in Internet.

It is symptomatic that the first publishing of the sore was the masterpiece written by Barszczewski that is very close to Russian heart (as well to many other peoples).

Unfortunately this great writer isn't known well in Poland. Very few information in Internet:
pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jan_Barszczewski]

His book Szlachcic Zawalnia, czyli Białoruś w fantastycznych opowiadaniach edited in Polish in Saint Petersbourg in 1946 doesn't seem to be reedited ever again.

But everybody have opportunity to read it in Polish. I'll describe how to get it in my next post in some 15 minutes.

Everybody may take the book for free at pbi.edu.pl but this site is usually out of function.
I have managed to download the book and I'm going to give you my sites you can download it in Polish.
The book is divided into four little parts.
The first little parts are already in digital variant. You can download them in my site: truhlei.mylivepage.ru/file
Find the words SzlachcicZawalnia.doc if you want to download in doc. formate or
BARSZCZEUSKI.txt if txt. is more convenient for you, then click Скачать файл and all will be OK.
That is for first two parts of the book.
As to the other two parts, they don't still exist in digital variant. Only photos of the pages of the first and only edition of 1846.

You can get all the pics in my other site picasaweb.google.ru/truhlei/Zawalnia
It is a work to download them all but I'm sure those who read first two parts will be eager to read more.

Some notes:
1. I copied the first two parts one page after previous. I don't know Polish and some mistakes in composition may exist. I think it won't poison reading but write me about it. You can verify text if necessary in ebook.pl/index.php?t=ebooks&author=Baršèeuski%20Jan

2. If smth goes wrong with the search of my sites or download, write about that. I'll try to put it in order or at least send it via e-mail.

3. If you manage to download, please write here about that.

Unfortunately Jan Barszczewski seems to be known in Poland less than Russian writer Nokolaj Gogol although he followed the same style of fantastic stories and Poles can read his book not as translated.

I want to exchange opinions on Szlachcic Zawalnia. I welcome everybody.

by stronger I mean democratic EU without any dominating country, holding one EU line in relationships with other countries (USA, Russia, China ...)

Pedophile party in holland is a fellow traveller in this process.

Genealogy / Polish-Lithuanian paradoxis [13]

That's the main reason.
There is a contradiction between expansionist past and concentrated present.
I think Polish historians may become mediators between Lithuanian past and present. I'm sure Lithuanian historians feel the contradiction and they are trying to superate it.

Last times they changed their opinions in many cases, so it looks much better.

Lithuanians are of common sence. Polish historians may help them and be mediarors in their disputes with Bielorussian historians

Genealogy / Polish-Lithuanian paradoxis [13]

Lithuanians are very nice. Russians who live there tell Lithuanians are kind and with common sense.
There are some very moral people among them.
The only problem for today is that their historians have some ethnic inclinations. They try to convince everybody that Lithuanian Ducks were very attentive to Lithuanian ethnic challenges while in reality they were for uniform existence of the whole state of Slavs and Zemoijts.

They also try to convince that Vilnius was a city of Jemojts only despite the fact that Slavs were there since the very beginning.
Lithuania has usurpated the name of the whole former Great Duchy and nothing may be corrected. But Lithuanian historians sometimes don't even confess this fact.

I think a dispute is required here but on basis of mutual respect. It should be noticed that Lithuanian historians are well educated and they are not scandalists.

News / There is no Muslim in Poland [116]

Truhlei you try to convict Pole that good Russians are provoked to do that things. We know what is Russian occupation.

Does these pics show that defenseless people were murdered? Does it mean they didn't shooy before they were killed? Is it sufficient for accusation?

If Poles know what Russian occupation means why they don't recognize Chechen independence?

give them country

Today Breslau residents also have right to separate? They may meet better living conditions in Germany.

They always cultivated their traditions. And they were free de-facto in 1991-1994 and 1996-1999. They provoked measures against them.
The third "independence" will be finished in traditional way. You have another information?

As to you, you consider yourself Russian or Pole ?

I consider I'm Moskal. I'm Orthodox and I have moral duties there. I'm happy to be Moscal and I feel gratitude to my Polish-speaking ancestors for migrating here although that was in some measure against their desire. I'm happy they didn't manage to use optation in 1921 although I have documents that they were eager to return and suffered much here. But thanks to that I have such a luck to live in Russia now.

I feel my Lithuanian origin (not of the CROWN although I respect the history of both parts of RP).
It is very uneasy to believe, but even when I knew nothing about my ancestors (that was in secret during Communism) and thought they were Poles, despite that I started spending my vacations in different places of Belarus and tried to learn all the history of this region. I didn't know why.

I visited the regions my ancestors lived or wanted to live (by its beauty) without knowledge that was the Fatherland. I was unable to hear a word unknown in Russia, such as folwark.

So, nostalgia doesn't die with people. It goes to their grandsons and grand grandsons

Bingo, but it started to change, they started to celebrate for example 3rd May Constitution together with us. (this constitution made from Polish-Lithuenian comonwealth one coutry Poland)

An interesting change because Lithuanians today seem to be ethnic nationalists. Although they and portuguese people seem to be best peoples in Europe

plebiscite, give citizens of this regions law to vote and decide where they prefere to live, Russia/Ukraina Georgia/Russia ...

Ukraine won't do that as well as Georgia. Besides that there are no unexpensive ways of migration of ethnic minorities. And the planet ignores Levittown.

they utilize their possibiliteis, and it is enought reason to do small extermination for them in their own country ?

Extermination? Do you know exact figures? Evidence? Is it their own country? Is it recognized by any state including Poland?

There may be some mistakes. Nobody tells we the Russians are all good. Poles will teach us living wirh Chechen refugees. We will see our mistakes and behave ourself better. We are so wild and don't have good examples. You will receive many refugees and teach us

Genealogy / Polish-Lithuanian paradoxis [13]

We were discussing here the future certificate (Karta) of Pole. That document permits people with Polish origin study and work in Poland. For such people as I (43 years old) it is not so important but the possibility to visit historic motherland without visa is precious for all ages.

But I'd like to attract your attention to a very interesting paradoxis.
As to some ideas on that document it is for those who had even one grandfather was Polish-speaking from lands of former RP.
I have documents showing that my grandfather had both parents Roman catholic from former RP lands. They spoke Polish and their ancestors are known until 17 century. I have information about the ancestry because there were documents collected for Senate for nobility confirmation.

The paradoxis is that although they can be found as Poles by today Poles, in reality they never lived in the lands of today Poland or Crown in the age of RP.

They were always Lithuanians (of mixed Slav and Lithuanian origin as everybody there).
They spoke Polish but not only Polish. As all little szlachta in Great Duchy of Lithuania they used Bielorussian and Lithuanian by living in Oszmiany, Kaunas powiat, Wolkowysk and Grodno (sorry for probably incorrect spelling).

For Poles they are Poles being Lithuanians.
And for Lithuanians they aren't Lithuanians.
I'm afraid the same document in Lithuania isn't for those who have such ancestry. Only Lithuanian-speaking peasants in the past seem to be the main symbol of today Lithuanian state. Like peasant-proletarian origin for career in our socialist past.

Can anybody give me explanation of this phenomenon?

A few words more:
It is a great honour to have Polish ancestors.
But it is not a humilation to have ancestors among people from the other part of Commonwealth, from Great Duchy of Lithuania.
The point is that Poland recognizes as sons and daughters people who have ancestors among residents of Gran Duchy of Lithuana and contemporary Lithuania doesn't recognize them. Or I'm wrong...

Your opinions...

That already took place between 1991-1994 and 1996-1999.
They were de-facto independent.
The first experience carried to disapearance as informed of some 20000 ethnic Russians in these lands.
The second period (nearly no Russians rested there) was concluded by their invasion into Daguestan rejected by some Russian unorganized regular troops and Daguestan militias created immediately.

They didn't utilize their possibilities.

As to independence de-jure, what about East Ukrain in this case, Sisdnestrial Republic, South Osetya, Abhasya, North Cyprus, Vasconia, Corsica etc., etc.?

I think many Russian residents are interested rebela from Chechnya abandon Russia and receive political refugee status in EU.
Russia has a perioud when its reputation in the West is quite low and some thousands of "refuges" don't damage much the image by the reason it is lost.

When new pro-west orientation comes to Russia again, the rebels will be in EU and their behaviour will contribute to the improvement of intereuropean relations.

That seems to be a good prospect and there are Nations within EU that welcome "fighters for Freedom".

James, less slogang more details.
For a Chinese now freedom means a bicycle and later an apartment for his family. A food work in city because in the village the maximum is 2 USD for 12 hours work a day.

He even doesn't have time to think about political freedom.

Stability has no benefit without the freedom of the individual in society to seek self actualization!

Stability is always benefitial when it is alternative to mass deaths.
China will receive the desire to move toward freedom but it will come slowly.
Internet is the main way to form democratic ideas in the future.

As to Jaro, the report of Polish Military Intelligence translated into different languages is enoug.
That body was a sinecura absolutely useless for state security. It was created to assist Soviet intelligence and lost any reason for existence after 1989. No possibilities to penetrate into today Russian secrets and no reason to learn NATO ones.

They were budget vampires that and some of personell used status to solve their private problems.
And how did the report describe them? As terrible fifth column. That shows that Jaro isn't yet ready to fight with real and strongest fufth column.

agreeing to set a precedent that would make communism a crime against the Chinese people. Western companies would lose billions ! This is the same game as was played here and in all former communist states

Do you imagine China today? Do you know its history. The majority of Chinese people are afraid of Civil wars of 19-20 centuries when China lost half of its population.

Communist Party is the guarantee that internal conflicts don't come. Nobody studies marxism-leninism in China as well as class struggle. Stability only.
I'm not sure you can suppose any alternative to more than a billion people there.

agreed, thats basically what i was saying, the advisor's specialise and come from a different point of view

What type of crisis you are discussing?

That may well the case as far as certain historical precedents are concerned. However. Nurnberg sent a message out and certain individuals were punished. Communism needs its Nurnberg and not western politics supported Chinese Olympic ambitions to show the world how great communist China is. The Chinese communist party is a criminal organisation as were all former coomunist states. The west is morally bankrupt while opening dealing and supporting a state that not only has no legal mandate from its people but also punishes any form of real dissent with murder

I'm of different opinion. How can I condemn Chinese criminals if I suspect the majority of Chinese people didn't gain from Communist party only because they didn't manage to make a career during regime. Not because of some moral obstacles but by the lack of chance.

If the majority is of this nature why some more successful should be condemned?

The second argument: I'm sure my main enemy isn't from the government. It is the man next door or a my collegue at work. Anybody of my rank and social position. Or a lumpen.

That's why state irregular structures are more required, not symbolic hunt.

i'm not sure what you mean here, but for me why can't they just be honest and say well this is what we can give you, you might not like it in a dream world but this is real life.

That would cut all the lies and time wasting that they did and do :)

That was possible in Poland in 16-18 centuries when only 15 of families (high and middle classers) were voters. They had common sence.
That was also possible in UK in some 1832 when the same persentage of gentlemen and middle classers participated.
Now lumpens and low classers are in the majority. They hear only that they want to hear. They always reject some negative and trust those who promoses more.

No common sense. Those who tell the truth, loose elections.

Public office will no longer be seen as a meal ticket to illgotten gains! It will lose its attractiveness for certain individuals because they will be held responsible for their actions

These are moral measures that send out direct signals to those that seek to use public positions for illgotten gains. Responsibility is extremely difficult to pinpoint on certain families but trying ensures a moral victory and sets the ground for a society to be built under new values

No fear for Nurnberg trial and antinazy lustrations in any state. Extremism isn't afraid of that precedent because everybody known that sons of many nazy activists could do a more successful career than ordinary Germans. Many examples of the sort. No possuibility to be successful in business for nazy son if his father was an ordinary butcher as he was before Hitler. No lessons. No good precedents.

That they have the right to enter positions of public office, positions they once had and used to destroy the country economically and create a moral void that ripped apart society by the use of secret police.

Now their sons do that. What measures against that families in general are elaborated? The point is that persons you are talking about are quite old and their familiars promoted by them are away from the range of these measures.

Former members of the SB secret police, individuals that took control, illegally, of former state companies while preaching communist values to the masses, former members of the legal profession, high ranking army officers and many more.

And party members who made their career anywhere thanks to party participation. What is the moral difference between them and secret police officers?
Why opposition persecution is criminal and teaching children Darvinism by teachers-party members isn't criminal?
And what about young children of former "criminals"? They made good careers in business thanks to their parents' influence in transitorial perioud. Should they loose them? How to do that if yes and what about the effeciency of all these measures if no?
