UK, Ireland / British taxpayers pay homeless Polish to go home. [184]

I'm going to commit sucide by laying in the garden and drowning myself :(

lol

I just bought a new bike but I'm thinking of returning it and swapping for a canoe!

It better end soon, it makes me so bad tempered :(

me too! I'm really grumpy at the moment!

even the ducks are fed up with it....

yeah I heard that, the fish told me as they swam past my window!

I've already had my temper tantrum, went out this morning it was nice didn't take a coat, or even a jumper and when i started to walk home this evening the heavens opened!!!! i was soaked to the skin, I've never been so wet.

Just goes to show you can never ever predict British weather, if you do so then its at your own peril!!! LOL

Well, you should have learned by now, you're a big boy! ;-)

UK, Ireland / English people attitude towards Poles? [761]

I do actually agree that there a lot of Poles in the UK who dont like British people, they are here to make money pure and simple and have no desire to make friends with English people..

on/off b/f has a flatmate who he is getting annoyed with. The flatmate speaks limited English but has been here for a year and has happily admitted to on/off that he has no intention of furthering his English and is here for money only. The problem is, all the money he is making he is spending on living here, rent, food, council tax, bills etc.

Here as well...it's driving me mad..I swear I'm growing flippers :(:(:(

lol
I'm starting to have a new appreciation for ducks!

Its so annoying though, I had a day off today and spent the morning in the garden - thinking I might have a few friends around this evening for some drinks in the garden. Glad I never text anyone (or bothered watering the garden for that matter!). :-)

I do

Its just the strangest thing. My German teacher at school was actually from Germany but I never worked with, or known another German! I find that odd.

But is the attitude towards Poles such as teashoggy's also pretty common in Scotland? I don't expect it is, but please tell me honestly.

I've never come across anyone with such an aggressively negative attitude towards Polish people as that of teashoci. However, I won't lie and say they aren't out there because, of course they are. I hope that you don't meet anyone like that though.

And bring a big umbrella because its raining, raining, raining all the time!!!

But I don't know much about Scotland from personal experience. I'm going to visit your country, just as I'm visiting Ireland right now.

All the (real) Scottish people I've met were fantastic. Very friendly towards us Polish folks - I mean very friendly.

One of them gave me a little gift, with a Scottish national emblem on it, and I carry it on me all the time.
:)

You'll like Scotland a lot, especially if you are going to be able to travel around a bit. You'll also find that the Scottish generally are friendly towards Polish people.

And if you haven't tried it before make you sure eat Macsween's Haggis, its the absolute Bees Knees! lol.

Can I call you Ms Rabsee Nesbit then :)))) dont you just luvvvv it;))

absolutely! Why I picked PolskaDoll as a nick and not Ms Rabsee Nesbit, I'll never know!!! lol :-)

PolskaDoll, your nick has misled me; I thought you were of Polish extraction.

Not sure what the difference is, I live, work in Scotland. Are you saying you wouldn't have warned me about anti-Scottish things if you'd known I was Scottish???

- I'd be careful about negative statements about things Scottish. That's what this psychopath attempts to provoke us into doing - to make anti-Scottish statements in reply to his hate-mongering.

I am Scottish my friend! My statement was not anti-Scottish.

I currently work with - English, Irish, Scottish, Polish, Romanian, Czech, Hungarian, French, Spanish, Danish, Dutch, Chinese, Thai, Indian and a New Zealander and thats a small business.

(Quoting myself now - how sad! lol)

I've been thinking about it and I have worked with many, many nationalities over the years but I have never worked with anyone from Germany and I know no one I know has ever worked with a German. Is there a reason for this? Surely Germans travel too???

Mr P, Any one and everyone lives in the UK, I would bet my next months salary if you couldnt find a nationality living in my country...!

I dont expect polish people to understand the universe beyond the polish borders. The vast majority of you cant afford a computer and a larger minority cant fford a computer with the internet. Every thing you learn is from out of date dusty books or dodgy eastern european tv. And most of you dont travel cause you cant, you get turned around cause countries dont want eastern third world europeans turning up at their doorsteps.

If I typed the foul language I used after reading this post I would be barred for life - believe me! teashoci, trying getting out of your Glaswegian borders and blinkers before you comment on anyone else!

Quoting: teashoci
walk around looking like they are going to be executed and they never smile.

that's because they're with you

Got agree with Daisy - especially if teashoci is making the same remarks to these people as he is on this site!

At the end of the day there is always going to be people who think that having Polish people in the country is a negative thing and they'll be racist towards them and they'll make comments here about them and how they should go home etc...

But then there is the people who are more openminded and can accept working and living with people from other cultures and, for the most part, enjoy it and enjoy learning about other people.

UK, Ireland / Polish men in the United Kingdom [29]

Bronko is more than likely British with a big chip on their shoulder.

Have to agree with this!

UK, Ireland / Polish men in the United Kingdom [29]

Why do so many Polish male workers intend to stay in the United Kingdom when the women there are ugly and the food is lousy?

Here we go! ANOTHER one!

Wonder if it's the same person using different identities ?

Huge probability!

Love / OK then Girls, whats good about the Polish lady?? [46]

don't get me wrong, its not because i want to have lots and lots of women or that i'm not ready for the commitment

didn't think that, but if you're like me you just aren't ready. You'll know when you are ready - I'm pretty sure I will!

i want to have first kid by the age of 30
So marriage about 28 :)

I'm 28 now! But I just think that if I do the marriage thing in next five years and a kid follows then I'm ok. At the moment I just think of marriage as stifling! Don't know why as such!

Love / OK then Girls, whats good about the Polish lady?? [46]

hhhhmmmm its a bit of a bad guess 'lady in red' i had a polish girl before i was just asking hte opinion of you ladies, but hay i got abuse instead, thats cool with me, i can keep my head above choppy waters, i'm big and bad enough to look after myself now, LOL

I don't think you got abuse Tornado but if you read over some old topics you'll see that this topic about Polish women repeats itself. Probably your original topic post was innocent enough but there have been so many that there are a few who are getting sick of this constant questions about why Polish women are different or what is good.

Work / Work Ethic of Polish Workers [19]

are taking jobs from other people, ( have only one job and dont be selfish)

from my experience in my workplace Poles are not taking jobs from other people but are, in fact filling vacancies that local people (who are apparently crying out for a job) are not interested in (for example - kitchen and domestic duties). As these are the lowest paid jobs in my workplace I would not be surprised if some of them felt they had to take on another job to earn enough money to live. I get a good wage and even I am considering taking on a bar job to suppliment what I already earn.

they dont have time for appreciate the life ( they re always working)

I agree with that to a certain degree. However, from what I understand from some Polish friends, they spend their days off better - like visiting places etc. Whereas I might be quite inclined to go shopping or cut the grass!

Love / Are men more unhappy about being single than women [47]

For me its a case of "yes it would be nice to be with someone" but Im not going to get worked up about it since there are worse things that can happen in life and stressing about it isnt going to make it happen.

Yes. I would be happy to be with someone permanent but then again, I am happy being on my own for the most part!

Love / My Polish boyfriend never says 'l love you' to me, what should i do? [93]

Moire - I've just read this for the first time. Your guy never said he loved you, so when he proposed, did he tell you he loved you then??? I would sincerely hope so! If he did, has he said it since???

If you didn't call him or text him or email him would there be any contact other than MSN???

I sincerely wish you well if this the relationship you want and it works out, you haven't said anything about it since May so I hope that things have changed since then and he is more verbally attentive. If not, then you must find another guy.
