No i'm sorry mate you will have to do better than that....First of all Mongomery and Alexander were born and lived in England (most so called great Scotsmen are infact Englishmen born with a Scottish name)....Secondly you have listed a load of medevil battles that mean nothing to anyone!!...I think you nead to know more about the Campaines!!.....Which you came of worse!.......You listed Derby?.....Well what was the outcome of that?.......You lot being Hammered at Colloden!!....and you need to educate yourself about the English Civil War!....What was the outcome of the Scottish Army??....Not a happy one! I havn't heard much about York and Manchester.....So i don't think it could have been that important, and by the way i've read alot about this.... in Normany Montgomery was going to send your famous ''51st Highland Division'' back home.... because of poor fighting qualities!.....So there you go!.......Oh and by the way Clever Dick....You were talking about the Internet!!.....Where i was talking about the World Wide Web.

I think the Angles were from what is now Denmark and northern Holland.....and the Saxons came from north eastern Germany......and as for the Scandinavians i don't think the Vikings penatrated much inland....they just settled along the coast.....but i may be wrong on that!

Yeah ok Puzzler i take your point......There was no such thing as Germany until around 1879....So i should have said we decend from Germanic tribes....i.e from the tribes who lived in what is now Germany and Denmark.

Rubbish.....The cities were military targets....What with the road junctions, Rail yards, warehouse etc etc.....Its just that unfortunately the women and kids lived near by!.....I think you've given in to modern day morality!

No, "we" should have stuck to bombing military targets,not pure revenge attacks on women and children.Simple truth is, the large bomber raids mounted in late 44 and early 45 did f' all for the strategic situation.

I've already been Puzzler.......On my motorbike and back! Around the southern part....The Tetris mountain range and Krakov etc....Then down into Slavakia( full of Gypsy's i recall) then back home through the Czech Republic.....I've aways said its an interesting place....Its the attitude towards us from some of the Kn*bb's on this Forum i've got problems with!!
