News / Positive features that distinguish Poland from other countries? [63]

Books, everywhere books are for sale, bookshops, stalls or laid out on the street. Every Polish home I have been in has a huge, well filled bookshelf reminding me i need to sort out my eccentric piles of books scattered around my house :)

News / Air-show accident in Poland [81]

I think GROM may still use ,for certain things, the old AN2 Soviet era Bi -plane,or this was the case untill very recently, but this is still one of the most stable platforms for parachuting, but Im pretty sure they would be in tip top condition .

If your looking for ancient soviet aircraft try that quaint looking TU Bear that our brylcream boys intercepted over the north sea the other week, lmao, our(the RAFs) planes looked like UFOs compared to that old wreck.

News / Air-show accident in Poland [81]

whats average life expectancy in russia now? 50 maybe 55 for women? but back too the topic at hand, airshows, every year hundreds of airshows ,large and small happen around the world, thousands of flight hours are logged, and tens of thousands logged if you count out of season training. Out of all those thousands of hours just what is the actual percentage of accidents? I dont have the answer, but Im confident it is tiny, accidents at airshows are ,thankfully a rarity. The only reason they may seem otherwise is the simple fact that cameras are always there to catch the tragedys, and occasional near misses,Im recalinga mig or shukoi where the pilot managed to eject after steering his aeroplane away from the crowd line in a heroic manouver that very nearly cost him his life.

Are you sure you two aren't a couple either ?

Not a nice comment is it ?

...

Is it difficult for you to understand my words? Are you just a little thick? Would you rather that I write it all again in Polish for you, if that is your better language?

you dumb shmuck, its difficult for any sane, rational person to understand your words you disrespectfull, spitefull little man...as for writing it all again in Polish,go ahead, waste your time if you like, you obviously have plenty of that.....

News / Air-show accident in Poland [81]

your points being what exactly, you seem to make more posts that contradict your previous ones than any other type............I find myself stiking up for you in some threads then out you pop here acting like a complete fool. People have died, you felt that was your cue to launch another of your anti polish attacks with drivel about 60 year old planes should be only in museums, people corrected you and instead of retiring in good grace you make up storys about having members of your family in just about every airforce in europe and then ill informed snidy comments (ok,sorry for brining up konkordski but that was to show you that accidents happen anywhere) about something which is underserious investigation for foul play namely the shitehook that was full of senior inteligence agents that "crashed" in Scotland, not the peakdistrict.

so,you washed your car, here in the UK,in your polish freinds fathers wellington boots, you really are a prize muppet arnt you michal,i think i shall join the ranks and ask. just WTF are you doing on this forum?

News / Air-show accident in Poland [81]

michal,again with the total tosh.
First off my heart goes out to all involved in this tragedy.
back to michal, though i dont know why i bother. To say the old planes are not maintained is absolute crap, and if you actually new anything about the subject you would have just stayed under what ever rock you normally lurk beneath. Coming from a family chock full of Pilotsgoing back to the first world war, I have to say that NO Pilot would ever get in a plane that had not been maintained to the highest of standards. All modern and vintage aircraft have to undergo rigorous "m o t s" during every flying season. The vast majority of the parts used in the vintage planes are actually newer than the parts used in those commercial aircraft you see above your head every day.

Accidents happen and its a god awfull shame but thats just the fortunes of flight.
k

oh and one word michal...KONKORDSKI.....

News / Eurovision Dance Contest; the Polish band was quite good [21]

thats fine, they wernt even english, one was scandanavian the other a new zealander.
It is always cringeworthy though watching UK television and getting the impresion from the presenters that people in the uk are only ever interested in contestents from the uk,very anoying when they often speak absolute tosh. I didnt watch euro dance( cant stand the silly faces and lack of soul in ballroom, give me Gene kelly tap dancing anyday) but from eurovision, song for europe, the anglo centric nature of the broadcasts get on my nerves,"we" have had absolutly god awfull contestants for years now but still ages is wasted on interveiws with them and no other acts,countrie4s get a look in,unless they are freeky oddities like that ukrainian bloke ....

News / Air Raid Sirens today at 12 noon in Poland?? [15]

er,the russians invaded on the 17th,so technically from 1st untill 3rd when britain and france declared war it was just a polish/german conflict, not to split hairs or anything.Mind you,the Slovaks had some troops with the germans from day one,so i suppose........

for rest of posts dont worry ,youve not cracked up,they have been shipped off somewhere else on the forum.....

News / Air Raid Sirens today at 12 noon in Poland?? [15]

wtf has this thread got to do with nato bombing war criminals and mass murderers?Only thing nato did wrong was not to bomb the crap out of them 5,6 years earlier thousands of people may have still been alive and not pinned to barn doors or roasted alive by thugs.btw, other slav's incase you hadnt noticed.

In answer to bubbawoo's Q,
WW2 started ,more accurattly sometime around 1940 once fighting broke out in North Africa, untill then it had been a localised european war, the first shots of the war though occured in the early hours of the 1st of september when the german cruiser shlisweig holstien(sp?) shelled the Westerplatte garrison in danzig/gdansk. War was declred on germany by britain and france on the 3rd thus expanding it from just a polish/german conflict. Mind you, tracing back further to the year before when Czechoslovakia was invaded and carved up by germany and, wait, what was the other country who got in on the action again, invaded from the north,er,no,cant remeber;) or more likely the origins can be traced to 36 and the start of the spanish civil war,a world war fought by proxy on spanish soil but where all the major players of the 2nd ww were involved in more or less grubby little ways.

History / the use of goliath tank in ww2 in poland [5]

As far as i know daniel a small section of St John's cathedral was destroyed by this particular Goliath that the tracks come from. This seems to be the case from the photo i have of the track section and memorial plaque,no specific date is given though but Im sure with the exstensive research on the uprising more can be found out.

History / the use of goliath tank in ww2 in poland [5]

Hi daneil c
If the part Goliath you are talking about is the Tracks embeded in a wall in the old town that was actually used during the suppresion of the Warsaw Uprising (1staug-2oct 44) by german forces.

For more on this subject simply enter "warsaw uprising 1944"on any search engine and you will find many good sites
all the best
k

The germans used the Goliath on all fronts during the war. It was a small ,unmanned tracked vehicle, lighty armoured that was controlled by remote cable and operated from a safe distance by german combat engineers. The goliath could, aswell as an explosive charge , be fitted with a camera for reconasince but i dont think this was a feature widley used(as a new recruit was cheaper to replace.....).

So do I ,fantastically well off per head of population and admired around the world.........btw, the people of the Netherlands can be as bigoted as anyone, unlike some though they know that no one else cares what they think so are too polite to bring things up. and also, holland is one of the most "right wing" (in the good sense) calvanist christian countries in the world.

UK, Ireland / Why do Poles come to England? [514]

Years of fighting our German brothers

those same "brothers" that bombed coventry london sheffield portsmouth dover etc etc etc.......
and more pants from the fasch'
"Still, if Mosely had come to power we wouldn't be in this dire situation now. Those 700,000 Brits who died in the war would of lived on to have children."

Mosley was a opportunitist, and rightly ended up in jail for 2 years, then released mid war because he was seen as a pathetic little man who only attracted shell shocked WW1 veterns and a few jew bashers from the east end. Just when would he have come to power? Sorry would that be when Chamberlin resigned and Churchil took over,9 months after the start of the war against YOUR(not any bugger elkses you traitor) arayn brothers in the wehrmacht. And not to quibble over figures but it was 350.000 not 700.000.

Basicaly, what you and your bone head bnp/blut und ehre tribe is a bunch of cowardly traitors to this country, saluting the hooked cross and boogieing on down to "nazi" rock in grubby council estate pubs or crappy little marquees in feilds....

You speak for nobody but the ill educated minority, the same bread of TRAITORS that signed up for the BFK,and even then there were only 50odd of them.......

k

ps,Poles come to England to meet refined educated people who like nazis and faschists........NOT

All the best isthatu. If you need any more grenades in the "rekonstrucja Powstanie Warszawskie" just whistle. I'm be right behind you, mopping up the Gerries you deck.

with pistols against tigers.......:)

UK, Ireland / English people attitude towards Poles? [761]

Britain has been a very racist country

just one more thing ma'am...how can a "country" be rascist, people from that country maybe, but the whole country? Even in Sth africa there were plenty of white people in or supporting the ANC by definition south africa had a policy of rascism but a "country" is just land, hills and rivers etc....unless the Trents a rascist

UK, Ireland / English people attitude towards Poles? [761]

weve only been britain since the union of 1708(?)
and of course you cannot come up with an average briton, thats why you narrow it down into sub groups, english (chwip spurrgh) Scots welsh etc then maybe further down to british asian, british muslim British bangladeshi etc etc but, seemingly even though you are looking for ways to "find" the avarage brit you dont seem to like the most obviuos way to subdivide for clarity as I attempted to do.

When I was in my early to mid 20s no one gave a crap about these labels and beyond loony bnp types people were pretty much colour blind. Over the last few years we have seen increasing nonsense handed down from on high that seems to want to subdivide us and point out differences and have everyone in nice little boxes and at the same time not......
