News / The advantages and good reputation of Polish workers [45]

Look at the poles in britian and throughout the world

Yeah, so what? My mum isn't a cleaner, she earns (very) good money, and no-one in my family is a cleaner or any of those jobs you listed. My uncle in Poland is super-rich, and certainly not a toilet cleaner, actually he could employ you as his personal toilet cleaner. If you're nice, you'll have the right to clean his Jaguar or Mercedes. Go to bed, boy, it's late.

Love / DO POLISH GAYS ALSO DIE YOUNG? [56]

Evidence obtained on the basis of extensive research carried out over many years in the US, Canada, Britain and Scandinavia has shown that the average life expectancy of sexually active homosexual males is from 20 to 25 years shorter than that of heterosexuals. Does anyone know why that is that is the case?

It's well known that too much coke is not good for health... ;)

Life / Poems for Poland. [41]

Terre de liberté,
Terre qui a saigné,
Terre qui s'est battue,
Terre qui a vaincu.

Au milieu de tant d'ennemis,
Ton peuple a souffert,

Polson.

A little shorter than yours, LTB, it took me 10 minutes to write it ;)

Genealogy / Average height of Polish women [107]

From my own experience, i'd say that Polish men are generally quite tall, and women are generally taller than in France (i think...).

Average height of Polish women

I'd say sth like 165, maybe a bit more :) 168 cm wouldn't surprise me ;)

News / Candidate of "Hope and Change," Breaks Promise, Leaves Poland Defenseless [47]

"It will help both the [NATO] alliance and Poland and the United States respond to the coming threats," Rice said. "Missile defense, of course, is aimed at no one. It is in our defense that we do this."

Don't be naïve, how can you believe what Bush's friends say?...

Language / Why Polish people use so many words to describe a situation? [122]

I'm pretty sure the contribution of french to the english language is immense

Exactly. And look at your sentence: 'sure' → 'sûr', 'contribution' → 'contribution', 'language' → 'langage', 'immense' → 'immense'...
It's said that between 1/3 and 2/3 of the English vocabulary comes from French (mostly Old French and Latin).
Just give a look at the article in Wikipedia, it has no end ^^ Simply huge.

Genealogy / Am I Polish? My last name is: Thompson [8]

Thompson, Greenwood...unless they are 'translated' names of Polish origin, can't tell whether you are of Polish descent or not.
You'd better post some other names ;)

Genealogy / Am I Polish? My last name is: Thompson [8]

Do you have a grand-mother or grand-grand-father who was Polish? Cause being an American, there are many 'possibilities', you could be of German descent, or Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Norwegian, French, etc. and English of course ;)

Love / Polish girlfriend and birth control! [62]

you must be a result of an abortion gone wrong then

start using [condoms], stupidity could be hereditary

Funny sentences in a very 'serious' thread ^^

I also noticed that polish girls hate condoms

Well, i'm not a Polish girl, but i must say that using no condom is more 'natural'... But of course, we have to use it ;)

Btw, have you ever wondered what would happen if we found a vaccination against the HIV? I was thinking of a new sex revolution...but maybe i'm wrong ;)

Travel / Skiing - Krynica, Poland. Lack of snow? [30]

All slopes in Krynica have cannons but it is 5 degree at the moment

I spent Christmas and New Year's Eve in Zakopane 2 years ago, we had snow (and snow cannons just in case), it was nice, and i remember we even had -12°C one night, when we were going skiing ;)

Good luck to you.

Love / Polish men vs German men: Who is hotter? [513]

Cause ive experienced many Poles thinking Finland of beeing in scandinavia

That's not typically Polish, many people think of Finland as a Scandinavian country, everywhere ;)

Love / Polish men vs German men: Who is hotter? [513]

OMG! I feel terrible for europeans general knowledge...

I'm sure there is even worse ;) What is the capital city of Germany? Dublin. ^^

If Finland is in Scandinavia so is Russia with their murmansk

Actually, can't we say that Finland is situated on the Scandinavian peninsula? I think we can. But we have to add that Finnish people don't belong to the Scandinavian people, but, as you previously said, to Finno-Ugric people, like Hungarians and Estonians :)

Love / Polish men vs German men: Who is hotter? [513]

ive hear daily they have awesome awesome Geysirs there.

That's why the word is now commonly used throughout the world ^^
Iceland, land of ice and fire. One bad thing: it's soooo expensive, just like Norway ;)

Im a guy but in a non gay way every german dude I've met wasn't really THAT good looking. Im comfortable with my sexuality and I can comment who can be good looking and who isn't...

It's okay, don't feel bad for giving your opinion ;)
