News / The most spectacular errors in Polish politics. [264]

see you do not understand Polish people

See my response to you in #129.

the same add as Poles had against Russia in 1920 war

I beg to differ...

absolutely dominant militarily in regards to both Soviets and Germany so its obvious that Wilson wouldnt ask the Poles to get back to being occupied since he'd got a finger

I don't agree here because the hands of the German military were bound after 1918. Without the Treaty of Versailles the Germans would have dealt with PiƂsudski differently.

There's no place for opinions in our discussion, there's historical facts and dates

Then I suggest that you read up on the Poznan uprising 1918/19 and where most of the German army was stationed in the east at that time. The Germans refrained from attacks on the Polish fighters on February 16th, 1919 after additional negotiations with the Entente.

Since we're on educating me i'll do the same for you

Appreciate it... :)

Actually, I was talking about the approx. 1 million German soldiers that were still sitting in the east. If those troops would have been sent to fight the Polish uprising, the latter would have been crushed, IMHO.

News / The most spectacular errors in Polish politics. [264]

We're talking about the garrisons of old men and kids running Ukraine and Russia that would have to return piecemeal through Poland which had legionnaries and veterans from both armies by the thousands?

How can old men and kids occupy a country? That's a biased point of view. They were soldiers and definitely capable of fighting a war. So, add a maximum of 1 million troops to the 400000 you've mentioned, and the Polish would have faced almost 1.5 million soldiers. As I said: without the negotiations in February 1919 the Poznan uprising most likely would have failed. IMHO, of course.

Quote from Wikipedia:
"14 February 1919
Beginning of talks about prolongation of ceasefire after WWI. German delegation is against extending it for Great Poland, but France forces them to allow this condition."

France 1940-43

???

Without negotiations Poland still had nearly a milion troops within months

Where would all these "troops" all of a sudden come from? One million "battle-hardened" peasants drafted from their fields in 1918/19? How many real soldiers did the Polish uprising actually have? What about the necessary equipment? C'mon, something's wrong here.

I agree with you though, that the November revolution in Germany most likely prevented any further bloodshed in the east.

How about you stop being a biased cvnt

Relax... :)

Well, looks as if it is impossible to have a decent conversation with you. Pity. Guess you'll have to stick to your "heroic Poles" version of history and I'll keep mine.

Either learn and then issue opinions or enter a thread with questions only.

You're pretty arrogant, my friend. According to you, everyone who doesn't agree to your distorted view of history is not entitled to have an own opinion. I suggest that you grow up first and then work on your communication skills.

I am getting very worried

You are worried that your name might be of German origin? Are you for real?

Genealogy / Is Grudnik name Polish? [11]

Wouldn't everybody prefer to be Polish than German

If with "everybody" you mean Poles, then yes. <g>

I was always taught there were two kinds of people in the world -- those who are Polish and those who wish they were!

Your teacher was obviously Polish... :)

Genealogy / Is Grudnik name Polish? [11]

I am thrilled to find out that my name is Polish

All it tells you is that your family name has its roots in the Polish language. That doesn't automatically mean though that all your ancestors were Polish nationals. So, no need to get overly excited... :)

History / What would Europe look like with Polish-Lithuanian-Ukrainian Commonwealth today [209]

Today after 300 years since Germany ascended in Europe no one trusts anyone

And this assumption is based on what? Poland (or Polish politicians, I should say) having a trust problem doesn't mean that everyone else has the same issue.

and you literally have to buy countries into EU

For example? You really believe that the EU couldn't wait for Poland and all the other Eastern Europeans (that was on purpose... <g>) to join?

and your border cities are settled by French and Poles

And the Polish birth rate is what, once again?

French-Italian disputes. Brits attempting to retain a "balance" Sweden and nordic countries blocking the pipeline even more than Poland

They don't fight wars with each other anymore - big improvement.

Germany becoming a friontier, Russia being able to dictate a whole lot more than it is.

West Germany was a frontier state for a long time after WW2, remember?

the Turkish minority which grows explosively

Poland is part of the EU now. You don't mind if the Germans send you a few million Turkish people over, do you?

News / Exploitation of Poles working abroad [30]

Marek11111
Why do you think Poland sees so much investment recently? It's the same thing that happened in Ireland and Scotland: skilled workers available for low wages, subsidies and favorable tax laws. As soon as this changes the big corporations will drop Poland like a hot potato. Example:

Because they had no choice

What I meant is that Germans have the experience to be a front state.

the moment they could they transferred this role to Poland

I told you you are in the EU now... :)

you can tell where Turks are living by contrast

I'm afraid, that's correct in many cases.

i'm not going to have my country become a dump

You have no choice. There are probably millions of muslims who hold an EU passport. They can live and work where they want. Again: welcome to the European Union.

that is what i try to tell a lot of Poles on this forum, however you'll find out sooner rather than later that in their minds its still going on :) they just cannot let go

These clowns are everywhere - Poland, Britain, USA, France, Russia, Germany, Australia... Thankfully, most people are not living in the past anymore.

News / What needs to happen in the world so that Poland and Russia form alliance? [297]

Even though of what happened in the past i did put that aside

I don't believe you, man. You're probably in your 20's and you show prejudices one would expect from people who actually participated in WW2. That doesn't go together at all.

as soon as they found out i'm Polish they either looked at me like they wanted to kill me

Have you been attending a Neonazi meeting or what? What you describe is such a crude generalization that I seriously doubt that you have ever met a single German.

People moved on, get used to it. You seem to be stuck somewhen in the 1930's - I feel sorry for you.
