Law / New ID 'card' in Poland [19]

LES, to be exact.

les batards if we're being picky:)

How many ten year 'ID' cards are issued in Poland? Not many I guess so that may be why the paper version persists.

Law / Marriage Procedure in Poland [56]

I kept my distance before going into the room and going through with it.

And it would be wise to employ the same tactics at the birth of your first child;)

Many congratulations to you and your wife Seanus.

Love / My Polish girlfriend checks my mobile phone all the time [70]

My wife checks my mobile all the time. She makes sure it is charged, that the jam from my afternoon doughnut is removed, that the screen is clean and the keys have no dust between them. Often this takes over half an hour. Should I be worried?

She also diligently cleans the PCs in the house and checks Facebook to make sure I’m not being cyber bullied. Now that is being thoughtful.

Love / Do not marry Polish woman [212]

My answer to the original assertion would depend upon at what time in my marriage it was asked. In the early years it would have been along the lines of “you would be barking mad not to marry one”. In the subsequent years the answer would be very much the same, with the addition of good performance in the motherhood stakes, loyalty, understanding and good old Polish common sense. However, if you were to ask me now my advice would be to steer clear of them. The reason for this change of opinion is simple really. In my advancing years I am getting hacked off with all new acquaintances saying how pretty my daughter is! Guys, steer clear of them – they age too well.

History / Fall of the Wall II [8]

On the 9th November, the fall of the Berlin Wall twenty years ago (Jeez is it really that long ago) will be commemorated by pushing over the first of thousands of 2.5 metre high 'dominoes' that strecth for over 2km. Rumour has it that the two people in line for the honour are Lech 'The Walrus' Walesa and Mikhail 'Strawberry' Gorbachev. Seems a little predictable. Who do you think should be given the honour?

I think we should give the job to Putin - maybe he would remember that the old days have gone!

UK, Ireland / Why do Poles come to England? [514]

All EU citizens have the right to stay and work in the UK - end of story. The reasons they choose to do are varied and quite frankly their decision. Don't like it? Form a political party to amend Eu rules or take us out of the EU.

News / Poland is the most friendly neighbor of Ukraine and Russia - Ukrainian poll ... [132]

Well, that's a far cry from excercising nuclear attacks on a NATO member...

That is an absolutely NO GO and would be over all international papers by now not to mention diplomatical rows!

All of the nuclear powers simulate the usage of field based so called 'tactcical' nuclear weapons BB but usually not in the simulation of an attack on a particular country!

News / Poland is the most friendly neighbor of Ukraine and Russia - Ukrainian poll ... [132]

Just reading the newspaper today that claims that Russia carried out a simulated tactical invasion of Poland recently which included the use of field based nuclear weapons. Doesn't sound too neighbourly to me!

News / BNP far right in Poland [116]

All politicians and religious leaders are manipulative, self serving control freaks that should be brought to account,,,, Power to the people (at least to those who can string words into sentences)

Love / In your opinion, are most Polish women 'Easy'? [243]

So tell me when I have said I was looking elsewhere? I'm very happy and have been since the day I set eyes on my wife for the first time.
