News / JEW YOUTH SHOULD CLEAN UP THEIR ACT IN POLAND [420]

Until we describe or find out what kind of young Jews made rasist remarks or left mess in hotels, the thread is pointless. Jews are not one strong tied up group, but they have orthodox, reformists and others denominations or can be nonbelievers so can behave differently.

History / Responsibility for Murder of Catholic Poles during WWII ? [172]

We talk here about Jews of West end East like they were the same people. What is main difference between them? focus on the fact the Jews have problem with integration with host country for centuries but something happen sharply after era of enlightenment( Jews had its own version or rather offspring - Haskala ) and as a result changed completely European and North American Jewry. Jews of that time and particularly in German Empire, Austro-Hungarian Empire, Britain and Netherlands start to focus on completely different things however Jews of part of ex Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth taken by Russian Empire stuck up ( cos of lack of proper university s )and turn to extreme form of Judaism based only on written low of Torah and most important on broad use of Talmud (which was basically a commentary of Torah for Jewish people how to live among other nations in that time ( Babylonian or Roman times - so completely different time) but again - a commentary.

So heavily focusing on Talmud and in reaction to lacking of access to proper education majority of eastern Jews turned to kabbalah things - western folks enjoyed in that time completely different live.

So West Jews- Reformist Jews, East Jews - orthodox Jews. They are like different species.

History / Responsibility for Murder of Catholic Poles during WWII ? [172]

I was talking in general throughout time. As we have seen from the quotes from Israel Shahak, Judaism is not exactly friendly toward non-Jews

not whole Judaism but Talmudic Judaism

cite form Shahak bio from wiki

According to Shahak Talmudic Judaism is a totalitarian religion where rabbinical law governs every aspect of Jewish behaviour.[20] Shahak's approach to the subject draws on both Karl Popper's concept of a closed society, his analysis of totalitarian thought-patterns in Plato's thought, and also on Moses Hadas's suggestion of a Platonic influence on rabbinical thought.[21] He views Jewish chauvinism and religious fanaticism as grounded in this theological tradition. For Shahak, the religious roots of this 'Jewish ideology' had two important consequences:

* Attempts by Western analysts to explain contemporary Israeli politics in purely secular terms such as imperialism are fundamentally flawed.
* More controversially, that 'Jewish chauvinism' can be a causal factor in antisemitism, and that both must be fought simultaneously.

Shahak also analyses the period from the beginning of the last millennium (CE) to the advent of the modern state when most Jews lived under rabbinical law in segregated communities. These communities, writes Shahak, were under the patronage of non-Jewish nobles who typically used them to enforce their authority on a non-Jewish peasant class. Rebellions by such peasants in which all feudal agents were attacked, Shahak argues, have wrongly been perceived as anti-Jewish persecutions. Consequently, he calls for significant parts of Jewish history to be re-evaluated from a universal perspective.

you are very touchy MG but that could be easy understandable, you have been brought up in Netherlands, country with completely different history and particularly history of Jewish people, not Poland. You come from the country of Benedict Spinoza not of some cadik of Pinczow country and thats the consequences.

Life / BEING POLISH MEANS....? [18]

It means praying on a Rosary, honoring the Saint Virgin Mary - the Queen of Poland
and Her Son - Jesus Christ Our Lord.

That means Jesus Christ is Duke of Poland? Every time you learn something.

News / Time for a review of Germanic Polish relations ? [30]

The historical evidence points to a constant ebb and flow of national influence in the Pomeranian, (and old Prussian regions) occassionally it was held by Polish kings, some with a very distinct Germainic outlook and sometimes by the descendents of the Teutons and Germans.

this one is particularly offensive

can not really remember any Polish king with Teuton identity ( we are talking about Polish monarchs until the end of Jagiellon dynasty- after that kings were elected by sejm - Elective Monarchy). A lot of Polish kings and dukes had German spouses, the same with Slavic rulers daughters they were married to German ruling class and they become Germans, but calling Polish kings descendants of Germans and Teutons without sayin thats was workin in both directions is radiculous and not objective for sure.

News / Time for a review of Germanic Polish relations ? [30]

I've read about German rulers, politicians and philosophers too

There was a guy - Nietzsche we call him. He even felt close to be Polish than German. He had no Polish blood whatsoever but ( we dont know why ) he felt about himself as a Pole. Strange.

from wiki
Citizenship, nationality, ethnicity

Nietzsche is commonly classified as a “German” philosopher by professionals and non-specialists alike.[34] The modern unified nation-state called Germany did not yet exist at the time of his birth, but the German Confederation of states did, and Nietzsche was a citizen of one of these, Prussia – for a time. When he accepted his post at Basel, Nietzsche applied for the annulment of his Prussian citizenship.[35] The official response confirming the revocation of his citizenship came in a document dated April 17, 1869[36], and for the rest of his life he remained officially stateless.

Nietzsche's feelings about his national identity were clearly complex. In Ecce Homo, he writes:

Even by virtue of my descent, I am granted an eye beyond all merely local, merely nationally conditioned perspectives; it is not difficult for me to be a "good European." On the other hand, I am perhaps more German than present-day Germans, mere citizens of the German Reich, could possibly be—I, the last anti-political German. And yet my ancestors were Polish noblemen: I have many racial instincts in my body from that source—who knows? [...] When I consider how often I am addressed as a Pole when I travel, even by Poles themselves, and how rarely I am taken for a German, it might seem that I have been merely externally sprinkled with what is German.[37]

A later revision of the same passage was discovered in 1969 among the papers of Peter Gast.[38] In it Nietzsche is even more adamant about his Polish Identity. “I am a pure-blooded Polish nobleman, without a single drop of bad blood, certainly not German blood.”[39] On yet another occasion Nietzsche stated: “Germany is a great nation only because its people have so much Polish blood in their veins... I am proud of my Polish descent.”[40]

I think that you can go on the council housing list straight away too

with this statement you're showing complete lack of knowledge in the subject and simply burning off any of your credentials

I work for a bank and deal with people in debt.

You can't work in bank and be such stupid even when you're a simple clerk.

What's about people who has worked here for over couple years? Like me 4 years now.

Sorry but I don't think a year is long enough. It isn't exactly fair on those that have paid in for all of their lives is it ?

sorry smart arse but this is not the answer
what about people working legally for over 4-5 years? are they entitled or not?
stick your ideas up your arse and let deal with it somebody more mature and responsible.

Slawek067:
Don't worry about it they won't. As I said before, we work here, we would like to live here for the rest of life because we hope you will accept us like your own citizens. If you agree for diabolic plans we will get back to Poland because better is to be a little less rich but not to be a slave. Next thing is if you count all central europe people who works here it's milions count them by their goods and savings here and you will get nice sum of cash they can take out from here to their origin countries and your economy may be in trouble, big trouble. The sword is edged on both sides. Pure logic. As I said we can make it together but not alone

sorry if you wanna be British its your choice. People wander around EU, getting jobs and are entitled to every form of social security if they follow requirements, nobody force you to be French Spanish or whoever.

If benefits are hard to get here, they shouldn't be that easier to get back home either.

I agree 100% with it.
The problem is with Poland right now because she can't really support its own people, even after 20 years of so called transformation. It is not our fault but direct result or Yaltan agreements. Thats why Poland still suffer and this is the reason why so many Poles, particularly young ones looking for a better future in Europe. Problem with UK and Ireland is simple, most Poles want to go there cos the language they learn could be a potential gain for everyone cos whole world communicate in Engleze, thats why people prefer to go over there and not to Sweden, Norway, France or even Netherlands. Germany is different story and everybody know why it is not the best option, even now in era of peace and smile faces at each other.

If you are in the UK with your kid, you get 500 pounds plus 70% of the babysitter's fees.

does it mean that average teenage girl in UK gets pregnant in lets just say age of 17, after year or two 2nd baby and in age of 23/34 3rd one and you get 1000 a month without working + house benefit + some sickness benefits Yes? That is sick.

Language / Polish language and Gaelic language. [5]

I have noticed that some of people here try to compare struggle in reintroducing a national language - Polish in XIX c to Gaelic in XX c

just some input form a Pole who speaks Polish language and wish to be a witness of revival of Gaelic language in Celtic speaking areas

what I dream about is to have a chance to hear a typical crap about politics ( 'talking heads' in TV in particular language, in my case - Gaelic ). That would be a proof that language is preserved and got potential for the nation. Other story about Gaelic in positive way is that I can watch cartoons for children on TG4 which is great sign of progress.

UK, Ireland / Irish view of Poland? [17]

yena
Hi yena,
However this in not about the subject of the thread I would like to give you a bit of advise about your problem. Ireland suffer heavily from Credit Crunch and I am afraid this sort of behavior would only increase, if you intend to stay save as much you can don't spend your precious savings ( if you have any ) and prepare for moving back to Poland.

I know how you feel but we simple have to compete with indigenous populations and you have to understand this is not our home. Dream about moving freely around EU, getting job wherever you stay is finished, is dead. No such movements en masse again, not any more, it done enough damage to Poles and other countries where the went.
