yea thats what im asking really jambo, what actions could i take to meke her feel at home, is there any traditions? I am already etting some Polish food and the vodka is taker care of.

Hi,

Well i will be spending Christmas with my girlfriend (who is Polish) this year in England, its the first time she's been away from home for Christmas so i want to make it special, what can I do that might put a smile on her face or can you recommend any gifts that she might not expect, it doesnt have to be expensive but something she would be surprised.

I have been in the same situation, believe me time is the biggest help, if i look back to when i met my girlfriend things were hard and frustrating but now things are great, it just takes a bit of dedication, one thing i would say is too learn polish along with him learning english.

Hey,

I was just wondering to anyone who may have come to work in the Uk, what level was yuor english at and do you think it has improved, if so how and how long did it take before you feel comfortable?

The reason I ask this question is my girlfriend is here now and she is learning well but is lucky to be having lessons, her teacher mentioned he knows some polish people who have been here for 4 years and still have only a basic understanding.

Thank you, i will show this too her but as I dont speak Polish can someone tell me the basic requirements of what she'll need so I can sort things out before she comes.

Hi,

My girlfriend is coming over to england this summer to work, does anybody know what she will need (documents) to get a job other then a bank account. For example does she need to get a national insurance number here?
