Life / March 5th: Mother-In-Law's Day in Poland! [14]

and here it is again.... ;)

Następnego dnia przyprowadza dziewczyny, a każda piękna i inteligentna. Sadza je na kanapie i rozmawiają chwilę z matką. Potem syn pyta: „Dobrze mamo, a teraz zgadnij, którą zamierzam poślubić.” „Tę w środku” - odpowiada bez wahania. - „Zgadza się. Skąd wiedziałaś?” - „Bo już jej nie lubię”.

Food / Menu suggestions for a Polish/Scottish night. [89]

Any recipe for that?

BREADED PORK CUTLETS with a bone (as rączka;))

1 lb. pork cutlets
4 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 beaten egg
4 tbsp. milk
1 tsp. cajun seasoning
1 c. fine dry bread crumbs
3 tbsp. corn oil

Cut meat into 6 portions. Coat meat with a mixture of the flour, salt, and pepper. Combine egg and milk.
Dip cutlets into egg mixture, then into the mixture of bread crumbs and cajun seasoning. Cook cutlets in a large skillet in hot oil for 3-4 minutes per side. Serves 4.

i screwed up the name... it should be with 'rączka' and it's breaded pork cutlet with bone... :)

Life / City Pole versus country Pole [27]

Country people have more time

;)
yes, not everybody takes care of the farm animals in the country but also not everybody has a job in the city...

Food / a question about włoszczyzna [19]

^^^ i'm going to do a flamed onion and some leeks. best of both worlds. :D

add some garlic... it's a good idea if you want to or you do sleep alone...
;)

i know włoszczyzna as:

włoszczyzna - a bundle of Pietruszka (parsnip root and sometimes the leafy stuff), marchewka, celery root, leek (the whole thing) all pre washed ready to go into the chicken soup.

Love / Whose Life is it? Polish girlfriend under family "house arrest" [224]

it's a second person on PF in this situation... girl left to PL and not going back... well, i guess it's a new, modern form of breaking up with a guy... just not everybody is realizing that yet... hope and blind love play a major role here...

Travel / Going to visit Poland for long period of time - need passport? [25]

Krakowianka, you are too harsh... many Americans do not have a passport, even tho it's obvious that it's needed to enter an another country (US-Europe in this case)...

Jermaine, just go get the passport and while being in Poland try to get a visa if you want to stay longer then 90 days... all the info you can find online (Polish consulate)...

good luck...
