UK, Ireland / Father's Day cards banned in Scottish schools [64]

those who didn't want to make Father's Day cards for any reason would be off doing something else with another teacher or assistant.

Teacher.."Hello class...OK...everyone who DOESN'T HAVE A DAD can leave the room NOW!!" lol..sweet..

Life / Banking Matters - My Card Has Been Blocked [9]

HELP!

it depends on your bank, Cardno. THey will have blocked your card to protect your account. If the number on the back is for like 24 hour phone banking (like the Cooperative Bank for example) just phone them and they will unblock your card. This happened to me last time I was in Poland (but not other European countries!) ..apparently the thing to do is ideally phone your bank before u leave and tell them where you are going. Good luck, don't worry.....:)

She’s already been to China.

They didn’t have enough money to continue the journey.

We had spent all of our money by the end of the summer.

Going to future form, definite plans

I’ll do it right away.

By the year 2006, I’ll have completed all of my research.

News / Is Poland ready for the swine fever stuff? [59]

Makes you wonder how little is known by the medical staff anywhere about what they are actually injecting children and adults with.

interesting...my daughter just had secondary MMR and was SICK AS A DOG, throwing up bile which burnt her throat and has put her off eating since....She only had it cos the practice nurse more or less twisted my arm as I was asking for tetanus.......

Talking of swine fever in Poland though...I hope this official pandemic status doesn't mean there's a possibility of a travel ban..we have our tickets to Poland booked for July...

History / "Our Forgotten Allies" - Polish-American relations. [52]

we = americanos

I guessed that......just can't take anyone seriously who takes themsleves so seriously that they imagine they know what their government thinks or does, and imagines they speak for the whole population.

We learnt this in high school....:0)

News / Polish nursery rhyme book says Germans smell and gipsies sell their children... [28]

Out with the Bard, Twain, etc.

what specious rubbish, they're hardly going to be reading these at the age of 2, are they? (Prime brainwashing age) Unsurprisingly the author of these nursery rhymes is whining about "political correctness"......yeh bring it on. Besides what is overtly racist about Huck Finn or Othello? Maybe you could explain to us....

Grzegorz rightly says that nobody is forced to buy it, but what about nursery schools and childminders?
