Genealogy / How do i find my grandads relatives - Cimanowski [3]

Hi Wright,

You should start by obtaining records in England........Grandparents marriage record, birth records for their children, church records, etc. Hopefully, by obtaining these records, you will find out his birth town information.

You can obtain an England Research Outline by going to www. familysearch. org (No Spaces), then to the "library" tab, then to "education." Click on "Family History Library Publications, then "research outlines & then scroll down to England.

Hope this helps.

Genealogy / Need to know about Surname Baldowsky [10]

If you are referring to the Josef Baldowski, who arrived on 6/1/1915 aboard the "Graf Waldersee," there is notations about his naturalization on the manifest. You can obtain this record which should list his town of origin. Other records that may have this information would be his death certificate, birth records for children born in the States, church records, & ss application.

Hope this helps.

Genealogy / Anyone have problems with relatives? Borders of Poland changed over the years [12]

No. All mine encourage me & love the skeletons

Perhaps you should try giving your uncle a book that details the border changes over the years for his birthday or Christmas. If he doesn't "get it" after reading the book, you can hit him over the head with it!:) :) (just kidding)
