My grandmother Wladyslawa Turkiewicz lived in Lodz. She married my grand father Reinhold Maisenhalter and moved to America in Sept of 1912. She had a brother Bruno and another brother and i think a sister.

Merged: Maisenhalter, Himmelfardt from Zubardz

looking for my family name maisenhalter in Zubards. My grandfathers communion was at
Catholic church there. The name is Maria Himmelfardt. Is there such a church? The name maisenhalter maybe spelled different. Turkiewicz and Hausman and grunwald are also names involved.

My grandfather was born in poland and lived in Zubards. I have his communion certificate

Maybe your grandfather was born in Żubardź , it became part of the city LODZ in the early 1900's .

Maria Himmelfahrt means the Assumption of the Madonna in German and there are many churches with this name in Austria and Bavaria.

For location of Catholic churches, world wide

masstimes

I come up with nothing in Zubarz, but it can be a surname. There is no such area as "Zubarz", so far as I can see.

Related:

Trying to find my relatives who i know little of. Ida Maisenhalter married Julius Hausmann. The lived in lodz before 1912. Julius father name Was albert.

They would have been German.

MAISENHALTER: perhaps from Meise (titmouse) and Halter (holder); might have originated as one of the rather funny-sounding names given to Jews such as Rosenzweig (rose twig), Wasserstein (water stone), Katzenberg (cat hill), etc.

HAUSMANN: house husband (probably suggesting husbandry, ie good economical management).
