Food / Question on Polish sausage recipe [6]

A word of advice;

Make sure your pork has enough fat. A pork butt works well. I just bought 5 lbs of ground pork from my butcher.. It was too lean.. Even the dogs would not eat it. I then bought a pork butt and ground it myself and made delicious sausage

As the Immigrants from the early 1900 died off. Wigilia started to disappear. Some first generation family members still practiced it until they died off, but on a smaller scale. Starting with the second and third generation, it was all forgotten. From the 1960's The Polish language was all but forgotten..

Sorta makes me wonder why so many Europeans are seeking visas to come to America.. Could it be that they are trying to get away from the other ignorant Europeans? After all, America is a country full of Immigrants.. We must be doing something right.

The whole northside is practically being rehabbed, I see alot of white ppl moving there.

Sledge! The only place left in Baltimore that is safe is the old Polish section which we call Canton. People have inflated the price of 150 yr old homes to a price that minorities could not afford. The home that I was born in. My parents paid $2,500.00 for just sold for $635,000.00.

The cops patrol the streets and follow the thugs .They call it racial profiling. FUK UM.. It works

Sledge; Have you ever visited Detroit, Flint, Baltimore, Philly, Pittaburg, Richmond?? just to name but a few. Go into google and read their papers. You live close to Detroit.Why dont you spend a day there and see what is happening. (And just hope that you come out alive).. Two weeks ago they had five murders in South Chicago.In your eyes is this what you call turning around? What are you smoking?

Good Topic.

My Mother came from Torun. At that time it was in Pomerania. She was forced to go to a German school and swear allegiance to the Kaiser. She was one of nine kids. She along with her Father came over to make enough money to send for the rest of the family.. They failed.,but stayed.

My Father came with his Family from Galicia. (Mala Polska). They lived on the west side of the Sanok river. On the east side the Poles were under the dominance of the Ukrainians. They were Peasants. And America offered them a new life. It took 60 years but they prospered and never looked back I once asked my Father if he would like to go back to Poland? He replied YES, but only to visit. He was proud to be an American

When I was in Poland, I've met quite a few locals in Mikolajki and Gdansk who spoke fluent German and claimed to be Germans.

Could it be that the people speaking German in Gdansk were Kashubian? I was under the impression that at one time they were German. But their language is closer to Polish maybe a little Chech.. I stand to be corrected.

There are a lot of Kashubians in Canada

Not really BB. Caucasian people from all Ethnic nations are fleeing to the suburbs to escape the crime in the big cities. Our large cities are turning into Ghettos strewn with drugs and crime.

Last Saturday night, there were five murders in Chicago. Very much like Turkish neighborhoods in Germany.

This is not true. The war has been over for 64 years. America is so intermarried with other Caucasian Nationalities, that the old ethnic resemblances are just about forgotten.

One never hears the ethnic name calling anymore. In the early years the word, WOP, DAGO. POLLACK. KRAUT HEAD. KIKE, MICK
RUSKIE are hardly ever heard anymore.

In the early days of WW2. The German bund was very active in the US.. They held rallies in favor for the Nazi party. In early 1942 the US government cracked down on them. it was not long before they disbanded, and some were jailed as enemy agents.

As the war progressed, Americans of German decent were drafted into the US armed forces. It was not long before they turned into patriotic Americans. The older generation immigrants still symphasized with Nazi Germany. Most changed their views when their sons were sent into combat. In time one never heard much of it anymore.

Yeah, Actually who did win? I would say that everybody that survived was a winner. England remained free, Poland and France regained their freedom. The Marshall plan rebuilt Germany..
