Genealogy / Why would someone lie about their age? [26]

no. there are age discrepencies all over from that time... poland was extremely rural.. war torn... registering your kids wasn't a priority at all.. my dad has two official birthdays too. he was born during ww2.

Food / What First Polish Dish I Should Make? [30]

The only problem with Golabki is getting the sauce right.

and getting the cabbage right, and the mneat so it doesn't fall apart.. golabki are way more work. btw. there are more then one kind of sauces for golabki so i'm not sure if there is a 'right' one.

Food / What First Polish Dish I Should Make? [30]

i think gobalki is easier than bigos, but only in terms of sourcing the right ingredients. Remember most Polish food is somehow time consuming to make.

there is no way golabki are easier the bigos. no way.

pierogi are hard to make so are golabki.. very involved and if you screw up, you'll have a mess. definitely try bigos first out of these three.

Travel / Advise on how to dress in Poland (40 yo man) [10]

Black leather jerkin
'De Gaulle' cap (preferably leather)
Trousers that are a little to short
White socks
Stubble

sandals. lol

No idea how you normally dress, but people in Poland don't dress any differently to anywhere else in the world that I've visited.

i guess you haven't been around much.... never seen an abayah or a sombrerro in PL.

Language / Help with pronunciation of Gorecki Symphony [41]

I still think that that final -y in English is only the same as in Polish in certain

right but the 'y' in liberty sounds right to me.

Food / Whats with the distaste of Polish food? [7]

flaki are awesome, i agree.

polish foods have too much onion in it, for the most part. i hate uncooked onions. everything else i can handle nowadays. wasn't a bit fan of sledź for the longest time, same with tartar.

USA, Canada / How to stay in USA without getting married? [125]

ok, you may reapply in 10 years but do you think you'll get a visa? lol.. fat chance. it also depends on the reasons for the original denial. if one was deported, they'll most likely never be ale to re-enter.

USA, Canada / Why would someone leave Poland for the US? [120]

Puzzler

you may want to put your crack pipe down as there is no polophonobia here in america. not sure where you getting this.. alcohol induced dreams?

it's still not attractive to move to PL as it is living in usa. that's how i feel about it anyway.

And a single user here isn't sufficient proof of modern day anti-Polish sentiments in Germany

bratboy isn't bad at all. i bet he just put puzzler's argumentative skills to shame. lol
