News / WAŁĘSA'S LATEST BOOK [7]

Has anyone read either of the two books that assert Walesa was a communist and spied against his own during the 1970s - 1980s?

Life / POLISH CULTURAL DIFFERENCES [6]

7. Are you familair with the saying "Nie przez próg!" and when would it be uttered?

it's a superstition. you don't shake hands over the doorstep.

History / Poland war propaganda poster - can anyone explain this picture? [292]

I don't understand you McCoy. We fought against Nazis and we were sold for Soviets after the war. Our Gold has been confiscated. Many people died in Soviet gulags. It is truth. Katyń happened. Sikorski has been murdered.

mhm, but what exacly are you talking about ?

That does not fit in with the rest, the whole Asian samurai thing looks strange to me in this context. I will assume it is either a doctored version of a previously existing picture or that they wanted something that did not like the other forms of propaganda?

i found it about month ago, somewhere on the net and now i put it here cause it's definitely a propaganda poster. i don't know anything about where it comes from and who was the target of the propaganda. maybe you can tell me?

History / Poland war propaganda poster - can anyone explain this picture? [292]

Well we know it was against the nazis but the traditional costume the victor is wearing appears to be European. Other than that I have no idea.

the victor is polish but i think the picture has been drawn by foreigner couse it's more like a caricature of krakow's folk costume. maybe it's british or american poster.

History / Poland war propaganda poster - can anyone explain this picture? [292]

....just propaganda, not so successful! :)

the poster has been created during Warsaw Uprising and they were very thrifty :)
but forget it, just say it loud: KAZDY POCISK JEDEN NIEMIEC. it still sounds like a music to the ears, isn't it? :)
