News / POLAND TO SIGN US MISSILE SHIELD DEAL TONIGHT [239]

Get over yourself and think of the moral aspect vs. business deals.

He did. Don't worry. That's a unique situation when one can kill two birds with one stone. You celinski again fell into temptation of your bygone wounds.

Genealogy / Drozdek [4]

Hi! :) In Russian "drozd" means "thrush", "ousel" or in AE "catbird". The last name "Drozdov" is pretty popular in Russia. I don't know for sure, but it might be the same in Polish.

Language / Polish v Russian - similarity [17]

Hi, John. Even though I've never happened to study Polish I understand pretty much or at least I get the sense of a sentence. I believe Polish uses three genders as well... as for the overall quantity of cases I'm not sure. Cause in comparison to Serbian and Ukranian we don't have one. We now use only six cases, we used to have seven (zvatelnij padezh) now we're using nominative case instead of it.

News / SHOULD POLAND/EUROPE BE WORRIED ABOUT RUSSIA?? [90]

What about typing numbers into your calculator, then turning it upset down to make rude words?
I suppose I should have started a new thread for thi

Oh yeah... :) I remember how to make up some Russian rude words, you should how to make up English or Polish. We'll exchange. :)

News / SHOULD POLAND/EUROPE BE WORRIED ABOUT RUSSIA?? [90]

Silly you, I was not even born in 1951

Excuse me, are you illiterate? I didn't say you were born in 1951 or before.

I can read history and what Stalin did was the worse mass murder of history.

That's exactly what I meant... You mentioned him again. And... hm... It seems like talking about stalin turns you on, does it?

Well lets just kill more at a quicker rate because why, there are Russian's there?

That was the most irrelevant question you could make up. But I'm getting used to you either constantly beating about the bush, sidetracking or talking about stalin.

News / SHOULD POLAND/EUROPE BE WORRIED ABOUT RUSSIA?? [90]

Sasha now who is clueless

Still you are. Or perhaps you're ignoring me intentionally.
Once again.

I asked:

Sasha:

why you whole-heartedly believe your media?

You answered:

In 1951 my family lost their homeland. What Russia wants Russia takes. They call this peace keeping, at least call it what it is.

Firstly does this look like an appropriate response? Hardly...
Do you see the very first sentence of your response? I understand, that's your personal tragedy which has transformed in your mind to... Russophobia. And it's a disorder and nobody can help you to cure it except for you. Every time when something's happening in Russia your mind automatically readdress you to 1951 and it appears that Russia is a monster whatever it does. Hatred and unforgiveness drive you. Georgia headed by mentally deceased man invaded SO, killed there more than 2000 people (many of them were Russian citizens) they could kill more if Russia didn't stop them. And you know call this "what Russia wants Russia takes"? is this all you can say??? Putting it mildly what you said was cynical. You don't give a sh#t about people's lives. Your bygone bitterness is simply stronger than the truth, than sensible view of things. I can't help. You can help yourself.

News / SHOULD POLAND/EUROPE BE WORRIED ABOUT RUSSIA?? [90]

Do you feel this is Russia's choice? Is Russia the one that dictates neighbors rights to defend her free country?

I'm sorry but it looks like you're totally ignorant on that issue. I'll try to explain... how this works. Let's say there're country A and country B. They're neither friendly nor enemies. They're neutral. One of the basical things that keep this World in peace is a nuclear parity. It's not bad (well... it is bad but it's caused by rotten human's psychology), it's just the way it is. I assure you everything is being tracked. The USA tracks any move of russian "Topol" ("poplar" intercontinental missile with a separating warhead), we track yours "minitmen" and "peacekeepers" (btw the name of this missile explains everything). If we built a military base on Cuba, we would immediatelly threatened by the US. It's normal. Nothing is wrong with that.

In 1951 my family lost their homeland

Exactly. Thank you for the honest answer. That's a key to your problems.

Yes, Yes and Yes, last night's report also said Ukraine could be next.

What planet do you live on? You seem to be smart, so why you whole-heartedly believe your media? Hatred stronger than wit? Don't be crow#2 with your obsession.

News / SHOULD POLAND/EUROPE BE WORRIED ABOUT RUSSIA?? [90]

Can you imagine if they started flexing their muscle with other countries closer to the EU?

Who "they"? Georgians? Unlikely... cause they're the US tool and they don't wanna use it against any ally-country. Russia is obvious geostrategical opponent of the US, it's not a secret. We (I mean "people") are welcome to choose either to support the truth or your own interests.

Russians? I don't really know... :) If somebody else durst annihilate 2000 of its citizens and friends per night, I guess they would respond.

With only 10 missiles what's Russia really worried about??

I assure you as a "profy" (heh... not modest of me:)) in that kind of missiles that there're lots of reasons to worry about. The basic threat is not the missiles itself but their navigation system on the ground that's able to track our missiles on the beginning stage of their flight.

Russia threatens us about installing an American missile defense system

What did you expect since this installing was a direct threat for Russian safety and shook the nuclear parity (which in its turn threat for everybody including Poland).

Should Poland and Europe be worried???

No worries. Let's live in peace. :)

News / Should Poland send volunteers to Georgia ? [100]

No

Then second question is redundant. :) If Kosovo precedent didn't happen and Georgia didn't kill civilians, I would rather support Georgia as well.

There may be parallels with many modern day ethnic conflicts, but simply stating that conflicts like this are the same thing, unfairly simplifies the problem. It is essential in cases like Georgia to know more rather than less.

Ok. You're right. SO has more rights to be independent then Kosovo ever had since it has never been the cradle of Georgian culture and religion, Osetians have never kept down Georgians on their territory and they've lived on that territory for centuries.

Grzegorz_
Today, 07:08 Report #1

I don't think that Poland as a country should get involved in that mess but what about providing volunteers with weapons, transport etc. ?

Just one or two questions:

1) Did you support Kosovo's independence. If "yes" then...
2) Why do you think Georgia is right here?

News / Polish vs russian economy [57]

I've spent many years in CCCP.

Ok... then you're likely to be over 30 and should have a mature view on Russians. Hence pls accept my apologies that Russians have disappointed you that much. I'm sure your experience could have been much better but it's still worthy for both our nations.

Sasha:
You mean you can catch ukranian accent?

That's what I mean.

People on the South of Russia, in Krasnodar for instance may speak as if they're Ukranians. Just different areas have different "govori". Or quite the contrary... one guy from Western Ukraine could speak very unaccented Russian. That strongly depends on the family you're upbrought at.

I'm fluent in Russian

Where did you study it? Are you under or over 30? :)

I'm fluent in Russian and in many cases (not all for sure) I can tell Russian from Ukrainian.

You mean you can catch ukranian accent? I'm asking cause ukranian itself and russian sound noticably different.

If you go to Krakow in the restaurants, or go to the Tatras in winter you will see and hear hoards of them.

How do you know whether they're Russians? :)
You may probably hear me one day in the nearest future... as a tourist. :)

News / Polish vs russian economy [57]

Well I believe the standard of living for the average Pole is better than for the average Russian.

It's likely to be the truth.
UPD: I don't know about Poland but Russia is still ver poor outside cities.

After all there are Russians trying to get into Poland to work while the Poles leave for the UK.

Can't agree here.
They might be russian-spoken, for ex Ukranians whose overwhelming majority mostly use Russian as first language. :)
Poland is not really popular direction for Russians, unless they have some business over there. The most popular are the USA, Germany, the UK.

News / Polish vs russian economy [57]

While I'm typing this stuff to Mr. Crow, can I suggest that Russians aren't really the most Slavic of Slavs?

Does this any matter? :) Slavdom is a good concept to rally round, to communicate, to have something in common, to be on friendly terms. You know what I mean? :) In its turn "genetical" concept mostly don't work. For instance according to it Western population of Russia have to feel something fraternal to Baltic and Scandinavian Peoples, primarily to Estonians (who last year ranked first in the chart of those who Russians didn't like) and Finns, at the same time they have to be colder toward Serbs (who geneticaly have NOTHING in common with Russians) and Belorussian (who're closest genetical brothers of Poles). The reality as you may see is something completely different. Honestly I don't like all these "blood"-talks.

Love / What is an acceptable dating age range in Poland? [51]

From all couples with a huge age gap I've seen so far I may pick out three crucial groups:
1) It's all about the money
2) MILFs (generally I mean some people intentionally prefer older partners.
3) She's or (rarely) he's not so cute and can't find anything better as only to date "father" or "mother".
