Love / The girl from poland i met ,i hope you dont meet a girl like this [59]

Jumpin in to spin.

"try" to figure her out before falling

I think this was a critical statement, and it applies to figuring anything out-- really.

Reality and ... false hopes. I hope that hotbod found some sort of release from saying such hostile words.

if i had a gun and seen her now i could honestly shoot her

Expression is great, but Hate is a big weight.....

USA, Canada / Shootings in America; over 30 people shot [52]

no country is picture perfect

This is the truth. Because human beings are not perfect. People don't start taking action until directly or indirectly affected to the core of their being.

Love / help on dating polish [13]

Hi H3LGHAST.. sounds like you are still searching for answers. I'm a Polish female. (I'm not 100% but 1/2) I can offer you some tips if you are so interested.

polish wear what they want and have crazy hair design's

If you are describing the girl in question here.. it sounds like she may have a similar appoach to life as I.

1.Don't act too desperate.(I can't stress this enough) She is Polish; she probably is a very strong-willed independent person.

2. Get creative if you ask her out on a date. Pick something original to do... besides the standard dinner at a restaurant and a movie. Do something for her... Take her on a picnic and bring everything you need.. Make or buy lunch. Bring a blanket. Go for a walk.. spark interesting converstation.. and really listen. (so on date two, you can reference something in the conversation==to show that you did pay attention)

Keep a smile on your face

This is pretty important.. I agree with you. This shows you enjoy and are haveing a genuine time.
Hope some of this helps.

Life / What makes you proud to be Polish? [150]

Babcia instilled so much Polish in me, I don't know that it's Polish

Is that to correct spelling by chance? I know what you mean... I pronounce it bab-ooshk-a. My 'polish grandma died when I was 8. I am 1/2 Polish as well- from my mother I get mainly Norwegian.

I'm proud to be Polish and share in the wealth of strong family ties, determined work ethic, the giving mannerisms--there are many things to be proud of in life.-

Food / The best potato pancakes? [30]

Ya know, this is something that I never could quite aquire a taste for. I've had potato pancakes a few times... I think it is the smell or something. Im pretty sure my family eats them with maple syrup on them... I think that's my turn off. I don't like syrup. :)

News / American wanting to know about views from Poland [37]

as long as people work and pay it will be there,, how is it going to not be there?? are people of the united states going to stop all consumer production

This seems a source for a revolution of thought the way I reflect it back in different terms. This may sound irrational to some. But what would happen if people really took the time to re-evalutate things in their lives. ..Denial might explain it all... but I was listening to alternative public radio--( ;) I do this often.) I was taken aback at the sound waves hitting my ears. this man. Bill McKibbens-- I would be curious to know what people living in Poland think about his views. I'm only setting out the link because I'm curious of what people think.

billmckibben.com

is Less, could it be true? "less is more" -mentality. Could it work?

I think people would have to snap out of the dilution of wasteful possesions and the curse of the pirate... ;)
Lust over gold.

You can assume the worst for our country...more of you and we'd be pathetic and lose all hope. You have to think positive. I know we've created one of the biggest f- up's in history, but we can snap back with the right people in office. May take some time, but it's possible.

We need something of an abolistionist for this job.

abolistionist: a person who favors the abolition of any law or practice deemed harmful to society.... [on a global level as well]

Food / Polish vs american food [34]

vegetarian sandwiches.

These have become my favorite type of sandwich! I like them because they are lighter. There is a great local chain [Erbert & Gerberts] that makes the best one of it's kind--or on the way there. It's special because it has a great avocodo spread... oohh I think this might be the wrong thread for me to be in now... I'm getting hungry now.

Yes, I live in the US-- I'm about 7 hours away from the city. I've never visited Chicago before, but I have a friend who I went to art school with who just moved out there... my roomate knows him better, but we were going to stay with him.

USA, Canada / CHICAGO BLUESFEST JUNE 7- 10 [111]

I've never rode the train before... might take longer than in a car--I live near Minneapolis

I just might be able to make it... I cannot guarantee.. it would have worked out better to go this weekend because I got Monday off for a "birthday day"

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

This is a good question Ken.

Do you think that some people are in relationships just because they are afraid of being single?

I think there are loads of people out there that settle for something just because they think that they have to... society does put a lot of pressure on us "single folk" to be in a relationship--because that's what many people need to feel happy. You have your co-dependent and your independent.

Sure, life would be great every now and again if I had someone standing beside me through the tough moments... as well has happy. But being single and independent definatly has its benefits too. You don't have to be responsible to anyone but yourself and you can pick up and go somewhere without having to plan for babysitters and whatever else.

relax, enjoy life and the rest will come naturally

Very insightful Lady.!

Love / Which is better? Being single or being in a relationship? [92]

it gets boring after years and when you are comming back home tired, there is nobody there waiting for you.

I can see this definatley... There is a lonelyness factor involved-but that's where those already close around you come in. Good, solid friendships and family.--pets? help out. A cat just visited me out my porch..I shoed it away.. allergic to those buggars.

I like the feature, and noticed today that the new tab says "Checker" instead of minibox. How clever. I swear that it was still called the minibox when you first posted this message. edit?
