Love / POLISH MEN TO CHEAT OR NOT TO CHEAT? [72]

REAL women have no problem with that. They just do the same.

Gotta disagree, Wysp.....what's the point in being in a relationship if the people are going to cheat on each other......I'm a REAL Woman and I would have a MAJOR problem with that!

Love / Does speed dating exist in Poland? [10]

Without a good first impression, a happy relationship is unlikely to form

I don't know about that....I'm with Shelley in that I have not had such favorable impressions of people and come to find out they are wonderful people.....goes the otherway around also.

Work / Wizzair/Lot airlines - working for them [14]

Hi T, can only tell you that I flew on Wizz Air from Luton to Gdnask....no frills....first time I had ever been on a plane and the flight attendant gave safety directions in both Polish and English.

Good luck.....I had a friend who was a flight attendant here in the states, years ago and she loved it....she flew all over the world.

Travel / a link to U.S. airline regulations - carry-ons and baggage [3]

what is it you want to know, rp? I do know that in the US, you can check up to 2 bags not to exceed 25 or 30 kg and you can carry on one bag along with a personal item like computer or purse....once you are in the EU or Poland, the regulations are different....you can only carry on one item.

Flying from Poland to England, I was charged 300 zloty for excess baggage (can only check one and total weight if you have more than one cannot exceed 20kg----I was charged for having to check an extra bag (it was to big for me to carry on) and the total wt of the two bags was 28 kg, so I was charged for excess wt also. I was flying on Wizz Air, and since it's a no frills airline, their policy may be different from other airlines.

Flying back to the states, I was able to check 2 bags, but still could only carry on one item....

Travel / zloty or Euro [33]

Once again you proved my point.....Americans don't put other countries down....we just try to control them :P

Travel / zloty or Euro [33]

Whatever.....the person pointing out someone else's stupidity is under the assumption they are right thereby going by way of their own ego......maybe people (countries) should be more concerned about themselves and not so quick to put others down....the world would be a much better place, IMHO.

And with that statement, you just proved my point!

Travel / zloty or Euro [33]

so i explanined that in england...

if you ask a silly question you get a silly answer

and if you ask a stupid question youll quickly be told youre an idiot

What amazes me is how Americans are always accused of being egotistic and arrogant when those titles more likely describe the Europeans....

Travel / zloty or Euro [33]

what is it with americans?

The thing with Americans is that many of us don't go beyond our own borders because there is so many different places to see in our own country (different landscapes, terrains and yes, even cultures).....Many Europeans have been to many different countries because they are all clustered together over there. I think RP had a valid question for someone who has never been there (assuming he has never been to Europe.)

Travel / 2-week vacation in Poland - it was awesome! Culture shock interesting. [29]

Qacer

I also just got back from 2 weeks in Sopot and had a wonderful time.

- You have to pay to use the toilet

I never had to pay to use any toilet, nor did I see anyplace that actually charged for the use of the toilet.

- Meals are structured differently than the US

I don't have a "normal" schedule or rule for meals, so I can't comment except to say I did eat a lot of bread while I was there.....bread and cheese and sprinkles of "Slap Ya Momma".....mmmmm.

- Polish people are CRAZY drivers especially the young ones

Don't know if they were young or old, but I will say I have never quite seen such creativity with driving.....it's as if there are no rules of the road and people do whatever they like.....you are correct; it's definitely CRAZY!!!!

- It gets chilly (21 degrees C) at the beach (Baltic) especially towards the afternoon during summer season

True, although I get cold easily anyway.....I did think it would be a lot warmer than what it was, but I actually found the weather to be perfect.....while I was in Poland, the temps at home were over 90 degrees F (what's that? Mid 30s Celcius?) daily with lots of humidity (one of the few things I dislike about my home in the summer).

Not all Internet cafes are safe. I got a virus in my USB drive when I visited one of the cafes.

I did log onto skype at the Net Cave off Monte Casino and could've sworn I logged out, yet somehow I was still logged on later that evening......

It is tricky to find a power transfomer

Brought the right adaptor with me, but could've used the transformer, as I blew up a curling iron my first day there....fortunately my US hairdryer was made to handle European voltage.

Life / Try it - move to Poland! [33]

I trry to beg Polish people to fight against the pitfalls that USA and UK have got both feet stuck in.

Keep Poland Polish !!

I guess if Poland was to follow your advice, then you wouldn't be living there leading a good life.

Life is good if you work hard.

100% agreed!!!!

Life / Environmental Issues in Poland [2]

I was reading an article about how the EU asked for an injunction to stop the building of a continental highway in the Rospuda Valley, because of its rare inhabitants such as the aquatic warbler bird, spotted eagles, lynx and wolves.

The construction of this highway would lead to an inevitable increase in commerce between eastern and western Europes.

My question is which is more important? The conservation of the land and its inhabitants or the building of the Polish Economy. I realize there is no clearcut answer for this, but I am interested in what others think.

News / Black Immigrant living in Poland infects dozens of women with HIV [174]

Actually I wasn't thinking about regular posters but more about visitors that register under many aliases and talk and agree with themselves.

I would have to agree with Matty, although wouldn't the Admin. call them out and tell them not to post under several aliases? I know they have called people out before....just don't know if they do it always when someone does this?

You wouldn't be "called out" unless it's warranted. There are some users that use a couple different aliases, but don't cause problems.

Feedback / forum new feature request ;) - ignore a member [26]

wouldn't just be easier not to respond to that person?

I think that is the best idea.....just ignore the person.....if nobody responds to their threads or posts, eventually the person is going to get bored and go away....just a thought.

Travel / How really cheap is in Poland? [37]

On the contrary, when I was living in London, I often found that in high street shops, size 6 is the first to sell out. If anything, the size 8s and 10s are quite abundant. And if there's a sale, ALWAYS, its the size 10s, 12s, 14s, 16s which are left behind whilst all the smaller sizes gone!

OK, here's another question....I have seen different responses.....In America, I wear a size 4/6....what is the conversion in the UK? I have seen where I am suppose to add 2 and add 4. For example, for a size 4 it is either an 8 or a 10....which is correct?

Love / I'm missing my Polish baby (long-term relationship).... [27]

Ok ok, feel free to make fun of me now. ;-)

Similar

Nananananana....just kidding...was just talking to BW today and realized it cost me 24 cents per minute to call his cell in Poland, but only 2 cents per minute to call a land line....it's also different for him, so I guess it depends on the country in which the call is originating from....

History / Memories of the Polish communist era [115]

But like i said - being a child i was happy and didnt really care that my parents had hard time to get food / clothes and everything else. For me it was beautiful time ive spent playing with friends :) TV was not popular so we were healthy childreen spending most of our free time outside :)

Ahhh youth....I think all kids for the most part feel that way....they don't think about the sacrifices their parents made until later in life....which is how it should be....kids should remain kids for as long as they can.....:)

News / Black Immigrant living in Poland infects dozens of women with HIV [174]

Ain't it funny how the meek and cowardly always make bold statements on a forum, knowing they can't be held accountable.

So true!

My advise is to stop a negro on the streets and repeat what you've just said to his face. Be sure to come back here and tell us what he said.

Now THAT would be interesting....sth tells me he wouldn't make it back here to report his findings....lol!
