well really i know several nations: Mongoliams, Turks, Poles, Swedes, Frenchs, Germans and even Japanese. The end was the same.

No body on your western border dreams about conquering Russia... in cooperation you can gain a lot. In long term - friendship with China is suicide for you.

I doubt that you will be able to play your cards on so many fronts without pernament aliance with somebody ...

What do you mean saying "West"? I do not know any peculiar features allowing to attribute state to West or East.

I'd say democracy, freedom of speach...

I know you have complex of lost cold war and you would like to see Anglos dead ...

Poles don't love Russia ... there is more symphaty for Russians than for Russia as state...

but if we look on interests I would like to see Russia having friendly ties with EU and NATO. I'd would be very good and profitable for both sides. We both know that honest cooperation is the best solution.

in 1925 (after XIX century expulsions) about 15 % considered themselves Polish and add Kashubians who considered themselves Kashubian but prefered to see their "Gduńsk" as part of Poland ...

During the drafting of Treaty of Versailles, Kaszub activist Antoni Abraham promoted Cassubia's integration into Poland by famously saying "There is no Cassubia without Poland, and no Poland without Cassubia" (Nie ma Kaszub bez Polonii a bez Kaszub Polski")

During the Second World War leading Kashubians who stood for the Poland's cause, particularly those with higher education, were killed by German Nazis, the main place of executions being Piaśnica

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piaśnica_Wielka

In the forest next to the village during World War II, German Schutzstaffel executed about 12,000 people, mainly Polish and Kashubiann intelligentsia from Gdańsk Pomerania. Among the victims were approximately 1,200 mentally ill persons from local hospitals.

The mass executions began in October 1939 and lasted until April 1940. An exhumation of mass graves was carried after World War II in 1946. Out of total number of 35 graves, 30 were localised of which 26 were exhumed. Only 305 bodies (in two mass graves) were found, the rest of the bodies was burnt by Germans in August-September 1944. Forced prisoners from Stutthof concentration camp were used to cover up the tracks and were later executed.

As to Polish and German border ... Czechs have made mistake that they gave up their border for Hitler... it hadn't helped them. In my opinion it was better to talk to Soviets in 1939 or invade Germany in 1933 with France.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molotov-Ribbentrop_Pact

In addition to stipulations of non-aggression, the treaty included a secret protocol dividing the independent countries of Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, and Romania into Nazi and Soviet spheres of influence, anticipating "territorial and political rearrangements" of these countries' territories.

Molotov signs the German-Soviet non-aggression pact. Behind him are Ribbentrop and Stalin.

Kostik here is my opinion about Russian towns ... it is exactly the same as about German towns ...

Pointing on the fate of Kalingrad as an example of "Russian barbarism"

Well it wasn't barbarism ... Germans firstly bombarded Warsaw and London ... later recived what they were asking for...

Germans started to expel Poles form our native lands

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expulsion_of_Poles_by_Germany

It is estimated that between 1.6 and 2 million people [8] were expelled from their homes during the German occupation of Poland. Only the German organized expulsions affected directly 1,710,000 Poles.[7] Additionally, 2.5 to 3 million Poles were taken from Poland as slave labourers to Germany to support the Nazi war effort.[5] These numbers do not include people arrested by the Germans and sent to Nazi concentration camps.[8]

In many instances, Poles were given between 15 minutes and 1 hour to collect their personal belongings (usually no more than 15 kilograms per person) before they were thrown out of their homes and transported east (see: deportations) On top of that about 5 million Poles were sent to German concentration camps. A total of about 6 million Polish citizens were killed during the war. All these actions resulted in significant changes in Polish demographics at the end of the war.

later had to leave ...

As to this rapes in Berlin it seems that many German females were looking for strong men (winer) after the war ... because German males had broken psyche and were considered losers...

Interview with German writer about other picture of Berlin in 1945 ... :

News / England and Poland are friends [28]

Marek Marek you are american Jew ... most of americans are europeans.

be careful because we all understand what you are trying to say. I am sure that you are going to catch it.

https://polishforums.com/history/poland-european-anti-semitism-29186/

Maybe something from england

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edict_of_Expulsion

"In 1290, King Edward I issued an edict expelling all Jews from England. Lasting for the rest of the Middle Ages, it would be over 350 years until it was formally overturned in 1656. The edict was not an isolated incident but the culmination of over 200 years of conflict on the matters of usury."

" story told of a captain taking a ship full of Jews to the Thames while the tide was going out and convincing them to go out for a walk with him. He then lost them and made it back to his ship before the tide came back in, leaving them all to drown.[10] Other stories exist of Jews being robbed or killed, but the majority of the Jews seem to have crossed the channel in safety."

News / All this mess about Danzig... [122]

Gdańsk firstly was Polish ... later it was German ... now it is Polish again.

According to archaeologists, a stronghold was built at Gdańsk in the 980s by Mieszko I of Poland, after a series of wars against the local tribes. Modern day Poles have come to regard this as the founding of Gdańsk; in 1997 the city celebrated the millennial anniversary of the year 997 when Saint Adalbert of Prague baptized the inhabitants of the settlement on behalf of Boleslaw the Brave of Poland. In 1186, a Cistercian monastery was set up in Oliva nearby (now within the city limits).

Very good decision. Cars with engine over 2 liters are dangerous for our energetic safty and bad for our natural enviroment (global warming). Wódka ... no comment

News / What did Poland get out of the wars and struggles for others? [1108]

Of course there was annimosity. I am talking from cold caluclated point of view thinking only about Polish interests. Stalin was likley to enter Poland. Finaly he have done so on his conditions in 1944. If we look on numbers of Poles killed by Hitler every aliance which would help to avoid it was good.

If look on numbers of killed people or Warsaw destroyed in more than 90% ... anny other war couldn't be worst.

If we look on Warsaw uprise it was mistake as well and I am not proud of it.

It is funny that the bigest Polish successes were achieved by dyplomacy and people are proud of Warsaw uprising.

Now we are talking about the past not about current politics.

Germany would had been conquered as well.

I am thinking only about Polish interests seing what have happened in Poland durring WWII and after WWII.

We would had losse much less Polish people there would be no Hitler in Poland only Stalins troops which we had opportunity to see in 1945. If we had been allied with Soviets this ideaological occupation would had been much softer.

From perspective of Polish interests it was the best solution (in 1939).

If we look on Polish poit of veiw

The best solution to reduce losts in popultion was aliance with Soviets all in all we were under their occupation after 1945 ... If soviets have had conquered europe (France, Spain ect) This system would colapse because it was unefficent. Poland would losse less people and infrastructure would had been in much better condition. After all Soviets had done everything they wanted after WWII.

News / POLES the BLACKS of EUROPE? [104]

All these are actually playing into the racist approach by the originator of this post. What the fvck does it mean to be "blacks of europe"? Black=fool?Black=stupid?Black=worthless?Black=bad?Where is the political correctness when you need it?The title of the thread is offensive to both Poles and Blacks. Of course nothing will be done on the account of Poles being offended on this forum.So... 'sup niggas?

After seing american arguments durring president elections ... I know stereotypes about blacks in their country.

In my opinion every country which has joined EU ... at the beining was poor and their citizens were looking for job in old members countries ...

Exactly what our citizens were doing in last few years. It seems that soon we are going to lose this status ... but still ...

To be honest I don't care how those people are percived... Poles live in Poland.

News / Helena Wolinska dead [90]

They were killed by the soviet NKVD because they were anti-nazi???

Of course yes.

en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Home_Army

The Armia Krajowa (the Home Army, literally translated as the Country's Army), abbreviated "AK", was the dominant Polish resistance movement in World War II German-occupied Poland. It was formed in February 1942 from the Związek Walki Zbrojnej (Union for Armed Struggle) and over the next two years absorbed most other Polish underground forces. It was loyal to the Polish government in exile and constituted the armed wing of what became known as the "Polish Underground State". Estimates of its membership in 1944 range from 200,000 to 600,000, with the most common number being 400,000; that figure would make it not only the largest Polish underground resistance movement but among the two largest in Europe during World War II. It was disbanded on January 20, 1945, when Polish territory had largely been cleared of German forces by the advancing Soviet Red Army.

the Soviet Union agencies like the NKVD that took responsibility for disarming the AK.[19] By the end of the war approximately 60,000 soldiers of AK were arrested, 50,000 of them were deported to the Soviet Union's Gulags and prisons; most of those soldiers were captured by Soviets during or in the aftermath of Operation Tempest, when many AK units tried to cooperate with the Soviets in a nationwide uprising against the Germans. Other veterans were arrested when they decided to approach the government officials after being promised amnesty. After several such broken promises during the first few years of communist control, AK soldiers stopped trusting the government

The persecution of AK was only part of the repressions under Stalinism in Poland. In the period of 1944-1956, approximately 2 million people were arrested, over 20,000, including the hero of Auschwitz, Witold Pilecki, were executed or murdered in communist prisons, and 6 million Polish citizens (i.e. every third adult Pole) were classified as a reactionary or criminal element and subject to invigilation by state agencies. In 1956 an amnesty released 35,000 former AK soldiers from prisons: for the crime of fighting for their homeland they had spent sometimes over 10 years in prisons. Even at this time however, some partisans remained in the countryside, unwilling or simply unable to rejoin the community

So we can call concentration camps after 1945 POLISH concentration camps!

Where my Polish anti-nazi ancestors were killed after being catched by Soviet NKVD because they were fighting against Nazis they were dangerous for new system ... people able to fight.

Of course Soviet tanks in Hungary were supporting majority of Hungaians ... the same with Soviet army and special forces in Poland ...

I can find communist party in modern France and I believe that with support of much stronger army form outside they would rule France later opportunists would join them or simple normal people to have more meat for dinner is such unefficient system...

Commies form Western Germany:
Rote Armee Fraktion (commies from western Germany)

Rote Armee Fraktion Deutschland R.A.F.

3.500.000 People! Some Marsians...

In later communism if you wanted to work in office you had to sign paper etc... many of memebr of this party weren't supporting this system ...

Well in every counry you can find commies:

in 1920 Poland fought commies ... so smashing majority of Poles were anti-commie

red star versus white eagle

We had border with Soviets and Poles knew why commusnism is wrong... we have seen refuges from happy commie states ...

Without Red Army it wouldn't be possible ... revolutions in Czech rep. Hungary and what had happend in Poland shows what it wasn't so easy to change system..

Finaly it was Polish Solidarity... who started peaceful revolution in this part of europe.
