UK, Ireland / Best county in UK and why ? [45]

I do love truly Yorkshire for: York Minster, Harrogate, Yorkshire Dales, Leeds United, beautiful hilly landscapes, extremaly friendly people.

Have to agree, Yorkshire is a beautiful county and the people so friendly.

If we are including N Ireland counties as well, then there is no better than ...co down:)

UK, Ireland / Question for Polish people working in UK? [15]

The following questions are to help a Polish friend of mine, who would like to come and work in the UK...hopefully someone who has come from Poland, and working here will answer. Will he need to get a work permit or visa?, and will he have to apply for a National Insurance number , before he can start working here?

Any help from your experiences would be much appreciated as I can't seem to find these answers anywhere online.

When sending sms to mobiles abroad from uk, they could be an extra charge to the recipient. As far as I know there is a joining fee to send sms from yahoo or messenger.

in the UK it would be Eveline or evelyn.

If i tried to proununce your name, I would get Ava-le-na, but I guess I would be miles wrong.
