Well...in our county...2000 plus East Europeans....only 25 Czech/Slovaks....and maybe 100-200 Lithuainians/Latvians......so VAST majority are Poles.

East Europeans have both been murdered and murdered people in Ireland.....I don't know the stats, but it is reported, though seem to be more the Lithuanians who are involved.

In the last few months, several Poles have died here, mostly accidental, one drown, 2/3 in Belfast in a house fire.

All new groups will be taken advantage of, and in certain areas/types of people will abuse them...not new....happens to all everywhere!

It could well be that the Polish government adds an extra "tax" to imports, which roughly doubles the price of some items....hence the high value goods from the West cost more in Poland, even the cars are more expensive!

This appears to be true....NI is the race hate centre of Europe.........mostly because....Poles are Catholic....make the mistake of moving into Protestant areas...taking Protestant jobs...........work it out.........

Having said that pro rata there are as many Poles in NI as there are in the ROI....so maybe it aint so bad after all....but our local police are plagued with calls to stop fights in over crowded houses of Poles .....c'est la vie!

P....looking at all of the posts form Poles on the board, its an extremely sensitive issue, plus seems unresolved, still something that needs tackled......

Only because Poland had the biggest Jewish pop. in Europe, they appear to have gone through periods of both being accepted then discriminated against then anti-semitic laws being passed when Nazis were ruling Germany.

Plus the fact that Hitler so detested the Jews and also wanted to punish Poland for daring to give them a country to live in and effectively looked upon Poles as not being disimilar to Jews....ergo......exterminate as many of them as possible too.

I have no bone to pick with Polish people....I have visted your country several times, I have employed a number of your fellow countrymen...no problems whatsoever....unlike other European countries I have visited.........so please don't take my sometimes naive/insensitive enquiries as being anything other than that.
